Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

A CSO, or a chief sales officer, is a corporate title similar to CEO or CFO and refers to an employee who is in charge of an organization's sales department. They lead other sales managers, such as the vice president of sales and the customer success manager, to ensure that all quotas and targets are met.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

A chief sales officer is the highest-ranking sales position in a company and their role aids in reducing the workload of the CEO (Chief Executive Officer). In very small businesses, the CEO may act as a CSO until the organization gets large enough to warrant a separate CSO position.
