CSD (Circuit-switched Data)
CSD (circuit-switched data) is information transmitted on a wireless network using circuit switching instead of packet switching. CSD transmits data over a single radio time slot where it is connected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). When a user is connected, they are charged for use on a dedicated circuit.

Circuit switching is an older form of data transmission that was used with mobile phones. Back then, data could only be transmitted through a modem and was limited by the audio signal quality. CSD can now use digital transmissions that allow direct access to the signal. The advantage of circuit-switched networks for SMBs is that there is no delay and bandwidth is always consistent, so it is more ideal for high-traffic, high volume, and long-term communications.
