4G Standard
4G, or fourth-generation wireless, is as much as seven times faster than the previous 3G technology (100 Mbps versus 14 Mbps). Each wireless generation is held to its own set of standards when it comes to technological interoperability and data transmission speeds. For 4G, it must include data rates of around 100 Mbps, Internet Protocol-based technology, and the use of OFMDA or FDE transmissions.
What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About 4G Standard
4G is still used by people all over the world today, but many are making the switch to 5G technology to improve speed and transmission technology. Despite this, as a new technology, 5G networks are not yet available in all areas and the high cost of upgrading all devices prevent many SMBs from making the upgrade.
