The best tool to hosting your videos
Comments: It is amazing using this software to host videos and make them. It has a very friendly interface and very good support from the platform. Also, the free version is a handful, and the premium plans are not expensive to buy.
Pros:
It is incredibly easy to upload and manage videos on this software, aside from the fact of hosting a great number of videos online. Also, is easy and very intuitive to manage content on Wistia
Cons:
There are almost no problems with this software. However, it is important to say of analytics is not very accurate and does not have support for oriental languages.
Alternatives Considered: BombBomb, Zight (formerly CloudApp), Dubb, Sendspark and Vidyard
Reasons for Choosing Wistia: For its values and functions that are suited to my work.
Switched From: BombBomb, Zight (formerly CloudApp), Dubb, Sendspark and Vidyard
Reasons for Switching to Wistia: For the functions that are very praised by the users and the price.
The video platform your Business Needs
Comments: Wistia has lots of features that have helped my company grow and save time. We have worked smarter and not harder thanks to Wistia.
Pros:
So many things, like the CTR, but if I have to choose one, I would say is the "replace media" feature. This has helped me replace media that needed some updates, and that is embedded in many places, without having to upload or embed again.
Cons:
For the moment, I haven't encountered a problem with the platform, and when I do, or I need help, Wistia helps me out with great customer service. (I can really say it is the best customer service I have ever experience)
Alternatives Considered: Vimeo and YouTube
Reasons for Switching to Wistia: I prefer the features. Customer service worked great. The price was too high but after a video call with them, they created an awesome package that worked for my company.
The best option to "post" online video that can be played online
Pros:
What I like most about Wistia is that it supports a large number of formats and automatically manages downsampling. Which means that the platform internally generates several versions of the same video to release the most appropriate depending on the connection speed of the person who needs to watch the video.
Cons:
The least I like about Wistia is that you can only create a free account with limited options that allows you to upload up to 50 videos, to upload in large amounts must be paid.
Great Video Authoring System
Pros:
Simplicity in creating videos with tons of enhancements and measurements.
Cons:
$400 for their Advance package seems a bit over price.
Simply the best!
Comments: Trusted partner for all our video hosting and marketing.
Pros:
Rock solid performance, excellent feature set, comprehensive documentation, integrations that work out the box.
Cons:
User management features could be more comprehensive, but definitely not a deal breaker.
Alternatives Considered: Vidyard
Reasons for Switching to Wistia: Features, cost and ease of use was important and that’s what Wistia gave us.
I've tried it, but found other solutions for my needs
Comments: Wistia was great to use and easy to use, but it came down to how much I was paying for what I was needing. If you're an organization that has the expenses to support the cost of Wistia, go for it. If you're a small business or a business that watches every nickel and dime you spend, consider other sources.
Pros:
Wistia offers a ton of features, but none that swayed my decision in using it to house my video content. It's clean, reliable, it works, and does a great job from a marketing standpoint. It's easy to use and that kind of reliability and ease of use only comes when you pay premium for a Saas product like Wistia
Cons:
It's way expensive. My of my needs could be used with Youtube, Vimeo, Spotlightr (formerly known as VooPlayer), Amazon's S3, or other services that provide their own video hosting platform.
Alternatives Considered: Teachable, Dropbox Business, Amazon S3, Google Drive, Spotlightr, YouTube Mentions and Vimeo
Reasons for Switching to Wistia: I didn't; It came down to ROI. You have to ask yourself, are these videos hosted on Wistia and the features you need making you more money than you're spending? If yes, the go with Wistia. If you're just needing a video hosting platform to host training content, consider other options
Solid At Protecting Content
Comments: Wistia has been great to help secure video content and make it look more original than if we hosted on other platforms like Vimeo or Youtube.
Pros:
Wistia is by far the best major player at protecting the content you put up. There are always ways to work around security if someone really wants to download your content, but so far Wistia has been the best.
Cons:
The price point isn't cheap when you consider you could host for free on other platforms, but it's a small price to pay to have content that looks professional. As long as you're earning an income based on the video content you're storing on the site, it shouldn't be a big issue.
Alternatives Considered: Vimeo
Reasons for Switching to Wistia: Wistia has a lot more security when it comes to downloading videos. We've become experts at digging into code to find the original video links and Wistia is much harder to find than other major platforms.
Wistia is the best business video platform for growing leads and engaging contacts
Comments: Overall Wistia has been a wonderful asset for us and has helped us develop a quality system for capturing, engaging and evaluating leads.
Pros:
The webinar tool in Wistia offers a new way to host webinars and capture leads in a way that feels modern, unlike many other webinar tools that seem outdated. The ability to see where your videos are embedded is super helpful too as well as the video analytics to see how your content is performing.
Cons:
It can be difficult to migrate content from channel pages to your regular library since they maintain a different URL structure. The options for webinar sign ups also don't allow full customization of fields to align with our HubSpot fields.
Excellent video hosting platform
Comments: It’s an excellent platform for hosting and sharing videos and brilliant for embedding on web pages - they look far more slick than YouTube videos. The new auto-caption/transcribe feature is very handy too!
Pros:
You can host videos in channels or projects, with channels providing a great public-facing playlist. The platform is really easy to navigate and very user-friendly. It’s easy to store and organise your videos and makes for a great hosting platform. The new auto-caption/transcribe feature is very handy too! It could do with some improvements, but I assume it works on machine learning and will become more accurate over time.
Cons:
The only negative is being charged extra once you go over you allowance of videos. We are currently having to do an inventory of videos to determine if there are any that we can host internally (any that do not need to be shared publicly).
Best Video Host for Embeddable Videos
Pros:
I liked how easy it was to customize the thumbnails and video players that I was embedding on my website. The UI is very user-friendly and there are many options to choose from.
Cons:
It wasn't immediately obvious that you can link to timestamps in the video, but once I figured out how to it was a great additional feature.
Excellent Choice for Companie looking for Video Hosting
Comments: Great experience overall as it helps teachers, and course creators host videos for long periods without any lag. Really Suggested to everyone who is getting in hosting videos online.
Pros:
Fast and improved speed for hosting Videos compared to most platforms we have used.
Cons:
There can be more Templates we can use for making more videos.
Best video marketing platform in the game
Comments: Phenomenal video marketing platform with exceptional support
Pros:
Wistia offers awesome features for a very reasonable price. It's super easy to use, with valuable analytics and various customization options. If you need to update a video, it's no problem -- you can replace it without changing the link. They truly focus on video marketing whereas YouTube is really just for hosting and views. Plus, the customer service is top notch! (And if you ever get a chance to read their blog, you'll see these guys are video marketing experts)
Cons:
Sometimes it can be a little buggy when adding captions to video. I also wish there was a way to schedule videos social instead of posting one by one - but that would just be a nice to have.
Gets a little Expensive
Comments: Excellent for anyone with a video or production focused company that is looking to share there video with clients and get feedback from colleagues and clients.
Pros:
Well designed interface, although since they updated the site seems a little less intuitive. You can upload a s much as you want without many restrictions. Its great for clients and colleagues to comment and review videos with time codes built into the comments section.
Cons:
Sometimes can become a little pricy if you have a very large quantity of videos. Occasionally I have had a video not upload correctly and need re-uploading. Mobile app needs to be more intuitive. Lacks a few features that the website has.
Wistia gets the right job done
Comments: Just great value for the cost. Nicely scoped service/product. You get just what you need to get the job done. There is little fluff.
Pros:
Great to post videos and integrate with Wordpress site Analytics get the job done Easy to use to get the job done, not many extra whistles now, which is great Like the company, blog posts are helpful and public betas
Cons:
Embed styles could use more details on how to do them Embedding could use more data on performance, I had to learn the best way through trial and error
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS TOOL
Comments: I absolutely love this tool and recommend it to other companies. This is a must-have tool for any company.
Pros:
It integrates with Salesforce. It's a great way to know which leads are more likely to closing. We're able to see if they have watched our marketing videos. We are able to see which ones they have watched, how long they watched it for. I absolutely love this tool. I have no idea what we would without this tool.
I manage a client existing Wistia account
Comments:
The price simply does not make sense to me.
But since I am not the one paying for it, it is not a concern.
If you can afford it, great - it is excellent quality software and video hosting.
My experience using it as an administrator is superb and have no complaints.
Pros:
There is no doubt Wistia is super high-quality video hosting. They have partnerships with course hosting companies such as Podia, of which I am a customer of. All the features Wistia have are excellent, the quality is awesome. Embedding for example, is excellent.
Cons:
Two things specifically: I find the price a bit rich. $99/month for 10 videos. Yet, I am a Podia user and I get unlimited video hosting and it is the same player exactly (partnership). I see no point being with Wistia directly, although I love their service. (b) What Podia does not offer with the Wistia player is customization within the player. That's the benefit of paying Wistia directly. However, I know that Wisita in-built player customization is not as good as Vidello in my opinion. Vidello is 9/10 for me, whereas Wistia is 8/10.
Easy to Use, Share, and Store!
Pros:
My company deals with storing hundreds of terabytes worth of video files. Wistia is a great way for us to share those files with our clients: it allows them to not only see the footage and collaborate, but download or frame for social media platforms. Wistia is easy to use for our clients and lets them get exactly what they're looking for. We can easily separate files by project and share them with the right people: in turn allowing for a short turn around time for delivering projects.
Cons:
The limited file size can be irksome, as we always record our videos in RAW. So, we always have to convert and compress our footage before we can put it on Wistia. It's not a massive deal, but it does slow our process a little bit.
Wistia Has Helped Our Business Manage Hundreds Of Videos Inside An Intuitive Platform
Comments: Wistia lets our business manage videos and customize features to fit the aesthetic of each specific video.
Pros:
Wistia lets you manage hundreds of videos with customizable features like video border color, gating content at the end of the video, and much more!
Cons:
Some of the features like the gated content are only available on more expensive packages whereas they were complimentary when we first became customers.
It is a tool that allows you to add videos to marketing campaigns.
Pros:
As a platform it allows you to define who will see your videos or not, as well as the time they connect with your multimedia content, the time they spend on your page.
Cons:
Wistia has fulfilled our needs for content placement in support of our marketing campaigns, so far we have not had any major problems, however they have a help center to support the user if necessary
Great tool for hosting and embedding video
Comments: Great all around tool and support center.
Pros:
Easy to setup and use. They make it really not technical, and give you the power to create amazing marketing videos.
Cons:
Nothing much to dislike. Have been recent price increases. Wish there was more in-depth video editing.
Amazing hosting site
Comments: My company is online education based, so we rely heavily on Wistia and they do not disappoint. Easy, clean, and runs very fast.
Pros:
Our company uses Wistia to host all our video content and it is AMAZING. Quick upload times, very customizable, and new features are constantly being offered and updated.
Cons:
I genuinely have no issues with Wistia, I've never had an issue with the hundreds of videos I have uploaded.
Solid Video Marketing Tool
Comments: Amazing video software product.
Pros:
Their software ties nicely with other platforms, allowing you to use the data you're capturing from video analytics.
Cons:
They came out with a new tool called Soapbox. I feel it should just be a part of their overall package offered.
Great Video Hosting Software - Analytics Could Be Better
Comments: Embedding and sharing videos. Video analytics. Reporting.
Pros:
Easy to use, lightweight, intuitive. Great value. Easily iframable into web elements. Support is pretty great also.
Cons:
The analytics and reporting could be better. Wistia recently had a back end issue around the end of the month, causing gaps in our monthly reporting, but support worked quickly to resolve.
Good video reviewing software
Pros:
Was great for getting notes from clients and internal notes on videos for a production company I worked for that specialized in educational videos. It was pretty easy to use and login and didn't have any issues with video playback.
Cons:
The notes on the timeline could be easier to consolidate into a word doc later.
Expensive but so many useful features
Comments: Dead simple video hosting and analytics!
Pros:
We use wistia for any video content that is extremely important for a user to see. There's tracking and analytics, CTAs, and a lot of flexibility with their video. For example: I can make different things happen when users are at the 50% mark of a video because of how easy Wistia makes. Plus, it's so easy to gather analytics in their dashboard.
Cons:
Wistia is pretty pricey compared to the others. And sometimes, the video doesn't load as fast as Youtube/Vimeo.
