Reference for imaging

Pros:

Since Ghost is out of the picture, acronis is the top in image-based backup.

Cons:

It is a bit expensive compared to similar competitors.

Comments: I am using Acronis for the last could of months and yet I did not face any issue in terms of working as well as their support's response time is also too good.

Pros:

There is no need for any minimum billing commitment for Aronis cyber cloud (if you opt for the same from Acronis resellers), as well as they offers the backups for each and every type of computing load and Operating Systemes in addition we can monitor and configure the backup from a single pan of glass (i.e. Acronis Console).

Cons:

We can not configure or use our own AWS S3 or Microsoft Blob as storage.

Rough time with errors, but it's not all bad.

3.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Web interface is great, server features are easily backed up, etc... Exchange backups are "ok" and usually work.

Cons:

I'm not getting all the notifications we have set to show failures. I'm having failures backing up Exchange 2016 mailboxes, support is VERY slow (read like... 1 week between email replies) and definitely not US based. Sometimes they can help, but I've often given up on issues because it's just too rough of an experience.

The Disaster recovery for your infrastructure

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall Acronis has been rock solid for me. I was surprised by the simplicity at first but have come to embrace it. I had setup complicated Veeam Cloud Connect solutions in previous roles, so in my mind Backup Solution= Complicated. Not so with Acronis. I have had to engage support once or twice, and I'm happy to say they got me what I needed without much fuss.

Pros:

Initially we needed a backup solution for Office 365 (email, sharepoint, teams etc) and sent out requests to our VAR. He came back with Acronis, which I'd used many years ago personally. Coming from a Veaam background professionally, I was very much going to go with an onsite solution backed by Veeam, but I gave Acronis a try. The Fact that I had everything setup in 10 mins and backing up, kinda sealed the deal. I'd not expected it to be that simple. Later I'd a need to backup a few VM and servers that had no local storage for... no problem, install the agent and it's backed up to Azure Blobs. Also very cool, is that I used Acronis to migrate these servers to Azure eventually, simply be restoring from Acronis to Azure.

Cons:

Backing up O365 services to Azure blobs? And only to Europe North? Not what I would call Disaster recovery, in the event that Europe North has issues.

Excellent value

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

We use this for workstation backups at my company and for this task it works great. The compression and deduplication is pretty good, scheduling options are very robust. I've had very few issues using it and it has been very reliable.

Cons:

Compression is pretty good, but not the best out there

Best solution for Disaster & Recovery

4.0 9 months ago

Pros:

The best thing about it is the different options for restoring while keeping RPOs and RTOs low.

Cons:

The price and that it is not so modular, there are many functionalities that we don't need because we cover them with another product and we can't stop paying for them.

Navigating the World of Backups

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Despite its minor drawbacks, Acronis Cyber Backup has been a reliable backup solution for our IT services company. Its user-friendly interface, variety of backup options, and fast data recovery make it a valuable tool to have. It does have its share of flaws, like being a bit slow during backups and a somewhat steep price, but in the end, the pros outweigh the cons. If you're looking for a reliable backup solution, I'd definitely recommend giving Acronis Cyber Backup a try!

Pros:

I've been using Acronis Cyber Backup for a while now in our IT services company, and I've got to say, it's a pretty solid backup solution. The best part is its ease of use. I found the interface quite user-friendly, and it didn't take me long to figure out how to create and manage backups. The software also offers a variety of backup options, like full, incremental, and differential backups, which is awesome because it allows me to choose the one that fits my needs the best. Another great feature is the ability to restore data quickly. In the few instances where I've had to restore data, the process was fast and hassle-free.

Cons:

While Acronis Cyber Backup is a good software, it does have a few drawbacks. One thing I noticed is that it can be a bit slow when performing a backup, especially if you have a lot of data to back up. This can be a bit annoying when you're in a hurry. Also, the software can be a bit pricey, especially if you're a small business or just getting started in the IT industry. I also wish they provided more detailed tutorials or help articles for some of the more advanced features. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to figure things out.

A great backup solution for everything.

5.0 last year

Pros:

The product is very easy to use, the everyday check of the backup is very clear. Need a specific file? No problems ! Check the backup and restore it with ease. Multiple backup location is easy too.

Cons:

There not much cons about acronis. The cloud plan is a bit expensive, and you can't really have a FTP plan as easy as the cloud plan but it's worth.

The best backup and data protection service

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: My overall experience with Acronis Cyber Backup has been excellent. It not only provides data protection for my customers' data but also helps me to grow my revenue.

Pros:

The most useful features of Acronis Cyber Backup are the backup itself along with the security features like malware protection, ransomware protection and vulnerability assessment.

Cons:

There is hardly anything to dislike about Acronis Cyber Backup. In fact, they frequently roll out features that resolve any limitations they may have.

Perfect All-in-One Backup Platform for any system or cloud service you could think of.

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Trying to backup various systems (Windows, Android, iOS, Mac) and cloud services (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) in one platform was our goal. Acronis helped us archive this with ease and a very intuitive interface. All previous support requests we had have been answered and solved within 1-3 hours, if something could not be solved it was handed over to engineering to see if it's possible to implement the desired functionality. Pricing is very fair. You can add additional backup storages either local or at various service providers of your choice like AWS, Google, Azure, etc.

Pros:

It is very easy to create and manage various backup plans for different systems, cloud services and use cases. You can easily integrate Google Workspace and Microsoft365 into the platform and have a tree view of all your shared folders and email accounts. Backing up one of these is as easy as clicking a checkbox (if you already setup and defined your backup plan). All backups are by default encrypted, you can however encrypt these again. You can manage disaster recovery and have your backup stored at various service provider of your choice and/or local. Pricing per GB model is very fair and inexpensive.

Cons:

Might be sometimes overwhelming, as it also tries to integrate some sort of cloud protection option, however easy to ignore if you only want to use it for backups. The interface is not very mobile-friendly, highly recommend using it on PC only.

Good product but room for improvement of the customer service

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: The software stores back-ups in different locations and does this quite well. Customer support could be much more efficiënt.

Pros:

The software is easy to use, versatile and has many useful options. I run back-ups to an external hard drive and a NAS, also I use it for protection against ransomware. It works quite well in the background and gives me the option to restore files and more when there is a problem. Also, I like the option to be able to restore an image to different hardware

Cons:

Customer support could be better. Recently I send in a question about an error. I got the request to send in a log file and screenshots, and then a couple of days later, I receive the solution to install the latest update. Which, of course, I already had. After I informed the same person of having previously installed the most recent update, then he sent me the request to send log files and screenshots again. That is one example, but my experience is that the support often works like this. Also, they can ask me for information, schedule a remote control session (which in itself is quite nice), and do exactly what we already discussed themselves. They are but not always very efficiënt.

I'm a big fan of Acronis for business backup. Very efficient in bringing back up images of servers.

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: Like I said in my review, the virtual image backups are really easy to work with once set up correctly, and can definitely save you from headaches when a server blows up on you. You basically just point to your image, and spin it back up when disaster happens.

Pros:

Our Acronis backup scheme works very well in protecting our main file server. The backup process is quick and offers a lot of options, across a number of different backup devices. It's also very easy to spin up another image of a downed server in a short amount of time. It has saved me when one of our VM's was corrupted, and it was very easy to retrieve files from archived images.

Cons:

The set up can be a little daunting, especially when working with virtual server technology. Also, there customer support site can be a little overwhelming to wade through for the uninitiated. You have to really identify your issue before sifting through all the support articles. The online manuals were pretty straightforward but did require some study before getting started.

Cloud backups are great, when you have internet

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

The ability to run local, and cloud backups provide the extra redundancy necessary for any company to succeed after data loss. During a prolonged internet outage, it's important to be able to keep your backups running.

Cons:

The pricing can be complex to navigate, and deciding which plan to subscribe to-- the per device/ per GB-- isn't obvious at first and takes a reseller with experience to lead you in the right direction.

Fast restoration of the most important business data and information

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Since the use of this software has been implemented, our information is kept secure and backed up so that in the event of any failure of one of our servers we no longer have to worry because we only have to go from anywhere to the cloud and thus restore that information to may our business continue to stand.

Pros:

I love Acronis Backup, since it is a software that allows you to quickly restore commercial and personal information, it is also easy to use and beyond restoring and supporting data, it also protects them against ransomware attacks what really It gives us peace of mind because we can not only back up our data but also protect it, which is why I consider it a really complete and quite flexible software, since it offers its users a free 30-day trial, and is also compatible with Linux systems and Windows

Cons:

More than upset I consider it a suggestion, it would be ideal if your interface could be improved to make it much more modern.

Simple and effective for my budget

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

The web based console to control all my backups in one place, and not having to remote onto a machine to start a backup or create a backup profile is great. The fact that incomplete backups can resume from where they left off, and i have the option of target locations to do backups

Cons:

Initially the software upgrades can take quite long or not complete at all. Sometimes the seed load is seen as a separate backup, and the incremental backups take up more space than they should.

Best Option for Small Businesses

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

My favorite feature of Acronis is the ability to restore single files that are accidentally deleted by a network user, rather than having to do a complete restore to accomplish that.

Cons:

The initial backup of our two servers took several weeks. Acronis does not offer the option to do a physical backup and send it by carrier for the initial backup.

Pros:

The reliability and ease of use makes this one of the best peieces od software I've used. I've used the server and home PC offerings and have had great success with it running and restoring standard backups, restoring to other machines, and even doing P2V migrations with it.

When used as an imaging software for system builds, it works great. Backup and restores are adequate

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: Fast system deploys. Able to image a system including OS state before tinkering for troubleshooting purposes. Restores are fast if using the boot disk.

Pros:

It is easy to use and performs well if the underlying operating system is the right and supported versions. Using the created boot disk and using that to image and build systems (older version) was easy.

Cons:

The newer interfaces are horrible. I understand trying to make it more idiot proof but hiding away features under a simplistic interface means advanced users have to really dig to find the tools needed. Seriously, I've tried to get end users to get this software and do their own backups but it doesn't do much more than the built-in backup utilities so it would be better if they focused on more advanced tech users as their customer base.

Great backup software for Mac

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: A reliable backup solution for my work PC.

Pros:

The backup software that comes with Mac and Windows are a bit rudimentary. Better than nothing, but very bare bones. And if you've ever had a Mac OS Time Machine restore fail on you, well...you only need to have that happen once before you lose your trust in it. If you're looking for a more robust and reliable local backup solution, this is the solution that you're looking for.

Cons:

I moved from Time Machine to this, so I miss the ability to restore specific files quickly. But I very much rather have a backup I trust will work when a restore is needed.
