User-friendly Tool

5.0 4 years ago

Pros:

I liked how user-friendly and open it is. The data analysts that provides makes it easier to create web templates and other technologically advanced products. The editing features, property handling and component elements is the best. Amazing responsive design support.

Cons:

At times, it can be a little slow. Also the application's price can be a big con since you can easily find good free alternative applications, doe it is true that Pinegrow is still much more intuitive than its rivals.

Alternatives Considered:

Alternative WebSite/WP editor which successfully target professional site developer market

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: After few years of use and numbers of good websites, we earn much more money than Pinegrow software price is. And sites are professional , stylish and easy for maintained. It is very good softvare, which become even better with every new update/upgrade. Excellent job for Pinegrow team.

Pros:

Integration of every major website technology you can need in one package is the most interesting thing in this package. It is obvious that Pinegrow software developer team consist of website programmers which know todays internet trends. You can code your site in classic ways: HTML, PHP, CSS or in modern technology throughout WordPress templates, WP actions, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap technology and so on...

Cons:

The is no FTP client integration, at all. You need additional FTP client for all server oriented jobs, no upload, no download from Pinegrow. And Pinegrow dont refresh links to your site files in the local disk, you have to do it manually - no local CRON. If you rename name of any file in disk, there are no option for automatic refresh and correction of all links at your developed site.. you have to do it manually, and it is a time consuming job sometimes.

An impressive app, but I never felt at home with it

3.0 4 years ago

Comments: Pinegrow allows you to work with HTML and CSS through a graphical interface, offering tight integration with Bootstrap and other frameworks. In theory, this should be a real time-saver, but in practice I was never sure if the app was more of a help or a hinderance. Pinegrow doesn’t hide the complexity of web development. You’re still very much dealing with code, and needing to understand the mechanics of that code, but with an added layer of abstraction that made me feel disconnected from the code I was trying to write.

Pros:

What sets Pinegrow apart from most modern website builders, and what drew me to it initially, is that it gives you the freedom to edit your HTML and CSS directly, on top of all the convenience of framework integration and drag-and-drop components. You can start a new project in Pinegrow, or open an existing website and start editing. The UI connects you to the code through a slew of panels and controls that allow you to edit object properties and styles. It supports modern features like CSS Grid, and outputs clean, standards-compliant code.

Cons:

Pinegrow is an ambitious piece of software. Unsurprisingly, it has a pretty steep learning curve. But for me, the features that let it down the most were some of the most basic ones: text handling operations like selecting, editing, copying and pasting. In my experience, these things were unpredictable and unreliable. For me, having the confidence that software will behave predictably is critical to enjoying my work and being productive.

A website builder works on local

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Pinegrow's most unique aspect is it works in local machine as well as working on cloud. Having both MAC and Windows versions is quite fine.

Cons:

Pinegrow's search engine optimization features are not that much advance.

A rather unique web editor

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Pinegrow's visual interface for web page / css design has enabled me to create pages that are way better / more complex than I would otherwise have been able to create, and visually editing the layout / css properties has allowed me to experiment much more freely with design and layout adjustments, as well as content addition.

Pros:

You need to understand html/css etc. to use Pinegrow, but it makes you many times more productive than hand-coding (whilst achieving identical html/css results).

Cons:

There is a fair learning curve. It is wysiwyg, but it's much 'closer to the metal' than most other wysiwyg editors. That's OK - it's aimed at users with a good understanding of html/css and just makes them much more productive.
