It is a breath of fresh ear

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: - it is more stable then MD and I don't need my IT support as frequently as before and if I do - it is mainly for equipment problems, not software
- my young doctors are much happier but older ones still winging

Pros:

- intuitive - ability to create favorites in pathology requests without limit - spelling check is automatic (I don't feel like an idiot any more sending letters with spelling mistakes) - short cuts can be created for registrars and made compulsory for certain presentations to make sure they don't miss anything and there is no limit to it - ability to access it from anywhere and any time - several people can have same file open at the same time and work on it - drafts for anything can be saved - allows to make your Practice to stand out in creating your own way of dealing with chronic conditions and allows immediate change if guidelines changed

Cons:

- it is not "polished" or "gift-wrapped' for consumer ( but you save money on that) and you have to do it yourself: selecting attachments in letters for off label use (Medication list) instead of having function of printing out what you need. But everything comes to your computer skills: youngsters using it much better and medical students are the best! - it can be slow at times as it is dependent on internet speed - it is not recognizing duplicates in anything but just saves it - there is no color coding at this stage - there is no reason for prescribing - I would like more options for reason of stopping medication - I would like regional health network to learn Helix and be able to extract dater for submission to Medicare for PIP payment as currently we rely on help from Helix people themselves

Worst product ever!!!

1.0 5 years ago

Comments: Disgusting, disappointing, unhelpful, they don’t care that their product Helix has multiple problems and if you try to leave, you won’t ever get your files.

Pros:

There are none. We had Helix for three months and had nothing but problems. Trying to extract our files to transfer to another company and they can’t do it.

Cons:

Customer service is poor, support is poor. Can’t extract files and won’t allow us to access our patient's files which possesses issues if we are audited by the governing body. This product should be removed off the market. BUYERS BE AWARE. The biggest nightmare for myself and office staff and 7 months on we still can’t get our patients files.

In major need of gene therapy

2.0 6 years ago

Comments: Not great, but it isn't to say there are any viable competitors either. It's simply fair to say that GP and Clinical PMS isn't cloud ready.

Pros:

It's vision of the future. It's just not there yet.

Cons:

Helix is clunky. It's a platform that looks and feels like it's a Frankensteins Monster of various technology, most outdated. And it really feels like it's developed by committee (a misguided one at that).
