Our CMS is not designed with accounting in mind therefore there are a lot of inconsistencies however Excel allows us the freedom and flexibility to maintain clear detailed records. The ability to customize and build almost anything makes Excel a must-have in our business. From building reconciliations, trackers and forecasting to then having the ability to analyze that data. Many users in our business who are at a beginner level of Excel enjoy the templates that are available. > > **Cons**: While Excel is paramount to our business, specifically accounting, the largest flaw would be the knowledge dependency. Unfortunately Excel is not always user friendly and therefore requires an advanced user to generate worksheets for others as well as fix them if something is broken or written over.
