## Reviews

### "Great CAD software with a few key features holding it back" — 4.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *August 14, 2025* | Design | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Its rendering capabilities are by far the best and easiest to use among all of the CAD software. I also like the cable routing application as it makes modeling wire super easy. I also appreciate how it will import any file, regardless of type.
>
> **Cons**: I use it primarily for sheet metal and have found it somewhat lacking. You are unable to regularly extrude and merge a solid. I just created a new solid while your existing sheetmetal stays the same. This is very frustrating, as sometimes it is easier to just extrude than to use a flat or flange. The other thing is that when you are creating an assembly, there is a design structure based on when you put the part into the assembly. That means there is no way of mating two parts if it has been added after the first part.
>
> Overall, I am pleased with my experience. Creo is not the most intuitive software, but once you figure it out, it is usable. The program itself runs very smoothly and easily works with any other software. It also has infinite customization options to help with workflow.

### "Functional CAD with exceptionally bad UI, flaky stability, and unhelpful support." — 2.0/5

> **Manny** | *August 23, 2026* | Security & Investigations | Recommendation rating: 0.0/10
>
> **Pros**: In my experience, Creo handles large assemblies better than Solidworks. Many features are powerful. The software can do what you need it to do, provided you put in the considerable time and effort to learn it.
>
> **Cons**: Creo is expensive:
1. It will cost you in licenses: Many key assembly features are locked behind special licenses, not to mention the more-or-less required 3rd party customer support subscriptions you need to even get started using the software.
2. It will cost you months to onboard engineers with its terrible user interface.
3. It will cost you hundreds of hours of friction to simply use the software and click through the needlessly-convoluted menus
4. It will cost you entire days of lost work from the program crashing without warning and without explanation.

Creo is a pain to use. The user interface is the worst of any software I have ever used, and that's not hyperbole. It has the clunkiest, most inconsistent set of UI paradigms imaginable. If a task (for example, dimensioning or text entry) is done X way in one context, it's done Y way in the next context, and Z way in the next.

Creo is hard to learn. The software doesn't tell you what it expects from you, it does not tell you what you're doing wrong, and the information center at the bottom of the screen often prints vague, unhelpful messages if it prints any messages at all. Help articles are often locked behind PTC's web portal, and once accessed, are usually so sparse they are not helpful. Forget about submitting support tickets directly to PTC. Your ticket either gets submitted to the community forums, or to a 3rd party support company, who can submit tickets on your behalf and may take several months to do so.

Creo is buggy. If you are expecting to do any cabling using the Creo suite of tools, please reconsider. I have not had any other CAD program crash more than Creo in Cabling mode. Common actions (editing wire lengths, wire angles, wire positions, label positions, etc.) can and will crash the program often, resulting in thousands of dollars worth of lost time.
>
> Imagine this interaction at the doctor's office: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." Doctor: "Well don't do that\!"

This is what life is like using a PTC product. PTC thinks workarounds are solutions. For example, I mentioned the Creo cabling module. To create a harness drawing, you need to flatten the harness. The flattening module has NO undo button, and is prone to unexpected crashes. The solution? Save often and reload, or purchase yet another license for an 3rd-party module that is arguably worse than the base module.

Creo's lack of consistency, questionable stability, and utter disregard for their users' time and money is apparent within every single aspect of the software. From getting the software installed, to onboarding, to day-to-day use, to navigating the menus, to looking for support -- the message is clear: You are working for the software. The software is not working for you.

### "overall feedback creo" — 4.0/5

> **julien** | *June 10, 2025* | Automotive | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Good in terms of 3d designing and assembly, more complex and has more features compered to others like Solidworks. you can also use a plm like windchill which is connected.
>
> **Cons**: Not easy to well understand how it is works not like Solidwrosk , especially with the plm connection.

### "Creo: Best CAD Tool for Complex Assemblies" — 5.0/5

> **Ronit** | *September 9, 2024* | Machinery | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The best thing about Creo Parametric is that it provides rich set of features with the complete depth for all of the modules like Sheet Metal, Part Modelling, Assembly, etc.
>
> **Cons**: Because of having a rich variety of features, it becomes difficult for a new user to learn it easily as compared to other CAD tools like SolidWorks.
>
> The overall experience of using Creo in my day to day professional life is fantastic. It helps me a lot as it has a lot of integrated features like EZ Tolerance Analysis, Creepage and Clearance Analysis, etc.
