Reviews of Odoo
Flexibility and efficiency in work management.
Comments: It has an excellent user interface and is easy to use. It also offers various modules depending on the work area and has a wide range of management needs.
Pros:
Odoo has helped me maintain control over employee attendance and keep a record of their hours. Additionally, it facilitates the management of each employee by handling their personal information, documents, contracts, and contact details. I have also used it to perform automatic salary calculations based on their working hours.
Cons:
Although Odoo is an excellent tool for management, whether for human resources or other areas, it has integration issues with other systems, which can make it complicated and sometimes require additional development.
Great software that takes a while to prove its worth
Comments: Odoo's customer service has often been really responsive - this is not always the case with their partners..... choose carefully.
Pros:
Odoo is software with huge possibilities whether your business is large or small. It captures all the data that you require for your business and integrates many aspects of the business workflow.
Cons:
It sometimes feels as though one is driving a ferrari with a learner's licence. Keep your expectations under control and be prepared to put a lot of time into learning how to get the best out of the software.
Alternatives Considered: Sage Accounting, Sage 50cloud Accounting and Dynamics 365 Business Central
Reasons for Choosing Odoo: We required more functionality than any individual product could provide
Switched From: MailerLite, IRIS KashFlow and Microsoft Excel
Reasons for Switching to Odoo: Odoo provided wider functionality at a better price point than the others
Horrible product and service for a small company
Comments: Nightmare. We spent thousands on Odoo internal consultants, plus we hired a third-party consultant, because Odoo consultants were not available or didn't provide work-arounds. Constant frustration. Hundreds of hours trying to implement the product. Simple tasks like setting up email and service contracts are almost impossible to get working, even with paid assistance.
Pros:
Not much to like. We hoped for an all-in-one product to save duplicate data entry. What we got was a ton of non-integrated features, complicated workarounds, and compromises, plus expensive uncaring, unresponsive PAID consultants.
Cons:
No field service scheduling. Accounting system is overly complex and not suitable for smaller companies that need simple accounting. Calendar started double-booking, Requirement expensive consulting to implement. Tons of work-arounds. Unresponsive, uncaring consultants, expensive consulting fees.
Alternatives Considered: Zoho Desk
Reasons for Choosing Odoo: Zoho mobile app didn't meet our needs for field service
Switched From: Zoho Books
Reasons for Switching to Odoo: Recommended by a trusted colleague. Seemed to have all the features integrated.
SQL error while installing app
Comments: Satisficed with the outcome and how the software is adapted to our needs. Support if not bad and they give you a solution.
Pros:
Open source and easy to troubleshoot. I give you the freedom to customize the apps according to your needs. Very important for businesses with complex processes that do not follow standards.
Cons:
Sometimes there is a fine line on support if you are not hosted in Odoo.sh. Not fare at all for self hosted companies
Alternatives Considered: NetSuite
Reasons for Choosing Odoo: The old software had many issues and was not the ideal one for our work model
Switched From: Fishbowl
Reasons for Switching to Odoo: NetSuite is very pricy.....
Capable but complex software
Comments: After 2 years, I feel really comfortable with the software for daily tasks. However, I am still learning how to get more results out of the same software.
Pros:
There are a ton of features, more than I would think about any business can make use of, all for an affordable monthly subscription. There are a lot of ways to customize the software to work for your business and improve workflows, and many connectors available for connecting to external API's (my most used one is UPS)
Cons:
The huge variety of apps available and extensive options makes it pretty difficult for a beginner to dive in, DIY style. They offer success packs to get you up and going, but they're really expensive (personal subjective opinion, I guess). The free support included with the online subscription is pretty good, and there's some videos online that might get you started, but it'll be a bit of work getting going.
Alternatives Considered: JobBOSS²
Reasons for Switching to Odoo: The price. JobBOSS^2 was way too expensive for a small shop.
