Manage and manage your Project with this Solid Tool.

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Used in my organization for the continuous administration of projects, allows you to be aware of all the details of the Project thanks to its variety of tool, has a very good technical support. It allows you to get details of expenses, cost, quotes and has a very solid and reliable system. recommended

Cons:

It is important to maintain good speed on your computer since the software tends to be a bit slow when you use it. Expensive depending on what you need in your organization. It is important to be clear about waiting for this software before acquiring it, since it tends to be expensive.

CMICProd

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Cmic gets the job done. We’ve been using it to collaborate with our design team and owner reps and everyone has gotten through the initial growing pains of the program

Pros:

It is the only software I’ve ever used for project management. I like that everything is in one place from documents and invoicing.

Cons:

The software appears to be very outdated and can be glitchy. You may also have to click through 5-7 things before getting to the thing you need.

There are MUCH better options out there.............. did someone say PROCORE ?

1.0 4 years ago

Comments: This software was in operation when i joined the company and the internal IT department messed with it on a weekly basis to try to modify a round peg into a square hole. It was a daily nightmare. Maybe if it was unmolested and used for what it was intended it may be useful but that was not my experience.
I am no longer with that organization and thankfully no longer using Cmi C

Pros:

Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about this software based on four (4) years of using it on a daily basis.

Cons:

Way too complicated for simple procedures Same info has to be manually entered on every line on the same project Way too many drop downs to enter a simple value Not remotely use friendly No cell were auto populated - everything had to be entered multiple times Excessive waste of time entering the same basic info multiple times

It is a great product!

4.0 7 years ago

Comments: Being able to do RFIs, Submittals, PCI logs, Owner Change orders, Subcontractor change orders etc. It's all in one place!

Pros:

It helps keep everything in one place. You can do meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and take care of billing.

Cons:

Sometimes it takes a while for things to update after you click on them. Maybe has to do with internet speed as well but wouldn't entirely blame internet speed.

Pros:

I like that the product has replaced a number of individual programs, allowing us to have one ultimate software solution.

Cons:

The customization of the software was a very lengthy process which required a lot of internal testing and a staggered roll-out to the users.

CMiC Integration to Paycom

2.0 2 years ago

Pros:

We are converting from CMiC to Paycom 4th QTR for Payroll and HR functions. I am looking for anyone who has done this integration. We have so many questions and can NOT get any help resolving the some issues with Paycom.

Cons:

We are staying with CMiC for all our construction needs, just moving payroll and HR to Paycom.

The only good ERP is your last one, and your next one - CMiC does an OK job

3.0 6 years ago

Pros:

It handles many of the financial and documentation needs of our company, and has the potential to cover others.

Cons:

The interface is very out-dated and hard to use (particular on mobile browsers), it requires constant maintenance, patching, and testing. It's expensive to integrate with things

Sometimes I feel that there are too many navigational panes options.

3.0 7 years ago

Pros:

What I like most is the detail in the job cost reports as well as the drill down detail options. Cost affordable.

Cons:

Having used both Procore and CMIC , CMIC seam to take longer to understand how to navigate through.

It's user friendly once I got used to it.

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

The AR portion is much easier to use than our previous software. I really like the reports that can be generated once CMIC was able to customize them for PBI.

Cons:

It requires lots of patience. If you can get past the trial and error portion to customize the system for your needs it's a pretty good investment.

Single Source of Truth

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: It has been a good 10 years

Pros:

Single database has a lot of power and provides a wonderful platform for reporting and queries. The abundance of different modules gives us the flexibility to keep most of our processes in a single platform and illuminate integrations

Cons:

As a large system it has an incredibly complex backend. Patches can cause issues that don’t show up in testing because of all the use cases that customers have for this particular software

Integrated Accounting and Project Managment Solution

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: If you are an operations-oriented firm (as opposed to an accounting-driven firm), this is the right ERP system for you. It is also the best commercial construction ERP system for your dollar. Like most ERP systems and large-scale software implementations, CMiC will take significant resources, planning, and training to deploy and maintain.

Pros:

The fact the CMiC provides an integrated platform for our accounting and operations personnel to have real-time visibility into our projects without the need for custom-built integrations is the primary reason that we switched from Viewpoint to CMiC. This also provides us with a unified database to perform real-time data analytics through our BI applications.

Cons:

- Environment Management (patch testing, hot fixes, bugs)

CMiC Review

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: Just use it. It makes your job easier.

Pros:

Three things i like about CMiC: 1) That is a universal solution, meaning it handles accounting, field operations, safety, document control, all in one place. (i'm hoping that mobile increases this functionality) 2) That is geared toward the basic functions of a general contractor (workflow is good) 3) That it appears like continual improvement of the software is a focus (technological advancement is never ending)

Cons:

The rigidity and limited nature of the reporting. (I'm working on MIP and hopefully will soon have access to oracle or jasper reporting tools to customize reports) The 'Captive data' aspect of the JSP data entry. (How you must hit "edit", then modify/enter data, then hit 'save")

Beck CMiC Support Review

5.0 8 years ago

Comments: Beck is a long time user of CMIC, and we rely on the Job Costing and Job Billing modules to bill our customers. Beck uses almost all of the CMIC modules and we most recently added the 3rd Party Payment feature to our ACH and check printing procedures. We utilize the forms, JSP and ADF screens, and Beck has a large number of custom forms, JSP queries and reports. We utilize over 100 user extension forms. As a database developer, I am impressed with the open architecture of the CMIC system. We are able to do many enhancements (or implement restrictions) that might be impossible in a closed system. The CMIC system is easy to manage, and there are a large community of users and 3rd party support partners. I really get a lot of information from the annual Connect conference

Pros:

open architecture billing options ease of management and support

Power with future in mind

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: CMIC is a powerful tool constantly improving. Recent conference displayed mobile, resource planning and the future thereby allowing us to react at our pace. We often lead the pack is utilizing the software suite but have taken a more relaxed state to prepare internal SOPs. We often learn about things from support and customers we didn't know saving us time and money. The past along with the future product enhancements makes the investment worth it and nothing beats an ERP suite for our industry.

Pros:

Integrated systems, reliable with plenty of checks and balances. Room for personalization is nice feature thus not being too limited.

Cons:

Old Oracle technologies and reliance on Java (can't wait for us to get to ADF and mobile).

A globally great product

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: CMiC is a really powerful tool. The product itself is really good. The data flows between all different modules without any problem. It is great to be able to run the pay for a week than being able to track our cost in real-time. CMiC also provides us a way to implement different standards in the company. Instead of having multiple ways of doing things, we now have "THE" way. Overall, CMiC is a great product built towards GC. CMiC does everything, or almost. It will give any construction company a clear advantage over competitor if enough time and resources are spent to make it fits the need of the company

Pros:

Having the data in real-time for PM. ADF is a powerful technology allowing us to customize the software. Being able to import/export from Excel is great. It should be available in almost all screens. Log Builder. It does everything: payroll, AP, AR, PM, ....

A Complete ERP solution

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: If your team has some programming knowledge, this software can do wonders!

Pros:

Our business, being in the construction industry, has some particular needs and protocols to respect, and CMiC offers the perfect solution. It gives us the tools we need to do most of our project management, and also provide an easy way to customize and add modules we developed ourselves. 1. Highly customizable 2. Lots of shortcuts, and navigating in the software is consistent. 3. Their development team is consistently working toward new and innovative solutions.

Cons:

1. Currently between 2 technologies. "Forms" is old and not well adapted for latest computing protocols. 2. "ADF", even though appealing, still has some unresolved issues.

How I View CMiC

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: My primary use is in the accounting portion of the software which at times can present a challenge but I believe it is like that with any and possibly all specific software. We always want it to be easier than it was a week ago. Some of the necessary steps seem redundant in some ways and could just be safe passages to get the end result, I do not know. For my work in this system, I can get my job done easy enough, answer questions through the available info access points accurately which is what the leader want. Is there room for improvement - Yes, when is there not?

Pros:

The invoice data entry mod is great, whether it be registered or voucher. Kind of hard to mess that up which is nice. Vendor detail reports are key to tracking - love them and that I can get them in any format I choose.

Ashley's CMiC review

5.0 8 years ago

Comments: I have been using this software since 2004. CMiC has come a long way not only on functionality but in customer
service. From day one I have recommended CMiC to other Generals. I am looking forward to all the new functionality
we have yet to implement and what the future holds for CMiC and our company.

Pros:

Integration: Accounting, Human Resources/Payroll and Project Management Collaboration with the project team (internal & external users)

Cons:

It is not always easy to extract the data into 'reports' Changes/enhancements to the software can sometimes be a tedious process

Cmic feedback

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

Three things I really like about CMiC solution: 1. Project management integration with accounting, it's built natively on the same system 2. Possibility for a single source of truth 3. Job billing back up albums

Cons:

There is a learning curve with CMIC. Some things are intuitive where as others are not. We are trying to use more and more of the system but get to a point when we have to start customizing reports or we have really good ideas and we have to pay for enhancements.

Good Value

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

CMiC is a great value pm/payroll software we have been using for many years. The connection with the software and our database is instant and never had a problem.

Cons:

The software needs some time to get use to, once pass that phase, it will make everything you do with it much easier.

Overall very pleased with the software

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

We have been using CMiC for over three years now. The software was a great fit for our construction company. Once properly set up the system is very user-friendly. The reports run nicely and could be easily converted to Excel or PDF.

Cons:

Frequent updates and sometimes reports won't run when needed. Invest time and money in the initial set up- you won't regret it!

WT Review

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

Whiting-Turner has been live with CMiC for a few years now and I would say that it has resolved our dilemma of managing data within multiple software. In the past we used a 3rd party for Project Management and Accounting and now we can safely say that CMiC has answered that need. We can manage everything that we use on a daily basis with CMiC. The way the system integrates AP with Project Management is a huge win.

Cons:

Basic understanding of bid items/billing codes and billing contract can be confusing to many.

Not Time-Friendly

3.0 6 years ago

Pros:

I don't like much about this program, but if I have to choose something, I would say that I like the ease of changing the order on lists such as chronological, by company, by spec., etc.

Cons:

It takes a LOT of time to load large pages. If you're looking for a specific item in a large list, it's going to take a while to scroll & load each page if you don't know any keywords to use.

Outdated interface

3.0 6 years ago

Comments: It got the job done, but navigating through the system and printing reports felt very inefficient. I would dread the days I needed to print and provide my weekly reports because of how many man hours it would take to get all the necessary information sorted and produced for our update meetings.

Pros:

CMiC is definitely capable of being your one stop shop for your construction management needs. It can link all aspects of a project into a single program which is convenient and the various reports can be set up to talk to each other and share input and information

Cons:

Like most mass data collection and sorting software, the user interface could use some work. Searching for things and printing reports was often cumbersome and sometimes not very intuitive. One issue is the lack of customization for reports. I found it easier to export the raw data into excel and create my own report and sort functions to provide the type of analysis my managers were looking for.
