Daily business necessity that makes my business run smoother

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Not only is their system intuitive, but the customer service agents ACTUALLY like to help you! No fake smiles over the phone or loud exhaling and strained voices. You know which ones I mean ---- the kind you get from employees that don't like their job and it feels like it is a burden to help you. Yeah ---- NEVER have I experienced this with Stripe. They have a beautiful online system, they have happy employees ---- that can only mean Stripe really knows how to stay in business. And THAT is very important for my business because I use them on a daily basis. I love the way I can integrate Stripe onto many online applications for my business --- and continue to have 1 account to manage it all. I love that I can be added as a contributor to other Stripe accounts and access them via 1 single dashboard without needing to login again. Not only does this help me run my business but I am also able to offer custom coding services to others who have Stripe accounts that are trying to implement custom payments on their Wix sites via coding. I love the product and subscriptions payments --- I am able to easily integrate with programs that use my custom Stripe product page for payments so my branding stays consistent. I love that I can have instant pay out or 1 day pay out. I just love Stripe all around and I recommend it to anyone.

Pros:

I love how easy the onboarding process was. The dashboard is so intuitive, modern and sleek. When you forget to do something, the notifications remind you of any missing steps you need to complete. I have been using Stripe for over 5 years and when I needed to update my legal documents due to a marriage, the customer service agents were amazing to work with. It went a lot faster than working with the bank! It was very convenient to receive document upload links via text and email. I was blown away that the customer service agent that I was speaking to over the phone was instantly seeing all the documentation I was uploading ---- so he was able to expedite the auditing & approval right away!

Cons:

It would be amazing if they would update their mobile app so I can do more on the go. Now with longer wait times at doctors offices --- or traffic jams or on the road ---- it would be great if I could do more from my phone instead of having to log into a laptop. I want to be able to create a client via the Stripe mobile app. I would like to check on my Capital loan. I would like to cancel an invoice via the app or basically manage the basics from my cell phone. Currently the main purpose of the phone is to view transactions, and that's it.

Alternatives Considered: Square Payments

Reasons for Choosing Stripe: Because Wells Fargo had high fee rates and they did not integrate easily with other online apps. Not to mention, their customer support is horrendous.

Reasons for Switching to Stripe: I didn't like the Square dashboard. I don't have physical products so I had not use for their POS system. They do not integrate easily with other online applications. They don't have an easy API to integrate. It does not integrate with Wix for subscription products. And their customer service was less than helpful when trying to engage with them before onboarding.

Best payment processing service for any business

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: 5-Star easy-to-use payment processing service, and any time further detail is needed on a transaction to help a customer or resolve an issue, Stripe provides great detail on all transactions making it possible to provide valuable information to customers to resolve issues, and ensure the customer gets what they pay for and the business receives the payment for goods/services as intended.

Pros:

The easiest to use, inexpensive fee structure and top-notch fraud prevention - Stripe is hands-down the best payment processing system I have used in my 10+ years leading Customer Support teams. With the exhaustive detail Stripe provides on every transaction, businesses and customers alike usually have an easy and secure experience checking out with Stripe.

Cons:

Very few cons if any with Stripe. They seem to get things right in most aspects.

Alternatives Considered: PayPal Commerce Platform and Worldpay POS

Reasons for Choosing Stripe: Ease of use, integration with website POS management systems, fees, regions of availability

Switched From: Worldpay POS

Reasons for Switching to Stripe: Better overall offering was provided by Stripe

Good option. Scalable

4.0 3 weeks ago New

Pros:

There are a few players in the space. All take a fee. And they are all pretty much the same. I like that stripe integrates with woocommerce, godaddy and Wordpress

Cons:

The fees. They are the worst. Everyone had to get their piece though :)

Alternatives Considered: GoDaddy Studio

Reasons for Choosing Stripe: Integrated with woocommerce when I needed to move on from godaddy

Switched From: GoDaddy Studio

Stripe highly not recommended

1.0 2 months ago New

Comments: I do not recommend Stripe to all e-commerce operators. Buyers can dispute transactions without providing any proof of the faults they are complaining about or disown the purchases they have made. On my [sensitive content hidden] site I made two purchases of about 4500€. the first one was marked as not risky, luckily the product the scammer ordered... arrived late so I didn't send it to him... otherwise I would have lost 4500€.
In any case they always make money because even if the purchase is really a scam they keep the commission. In my case 180€.
The second suspicious operation, I reported it to the support service (I have the email) and they advised me to return it and as a reason 'scam'..to avoid paying 181€. Stripe in any case charged me their commission as if it was a successful purchase. Basically..you defend them from scammers and they make money from it. They exclude themselves from any problems because they are based in the UK.
AVOID THEM
The proof of their totally questionable behaviour lies in the answer they gave! EXPLAIN TO ME WHY YOU GET COMMISSION ON A FAILED SALE? IT'S NOT THE €10 OR €20 BANK CHARGES. THEY ARE COMMISSIONS ON NOTHING!!! ON TWO TRANSACTIONS I HAVE LOST 360€.
TO ME IT IS A FRAUD

Pros:

they don't think about anything, they just take money even if you receive a scam

Cons:

take the money even if you are cheated is not correct.

Good Payment Solution for Entrepreneurs

5.0 2 months ago

Pros:

Stripe easily integrates with most major platforms. I like that I can offer clients pay later options that they're familiar with like Affirm as well as other easy-pay options like Apply Pay, etc. The fees are comparable to other payment processors.

Cons:

Stripe offers a slightly robust payment processing solution so the setup *can be a little involved, but doesn't have to take a long time if you have fairly basic needs. I do not care for the amount of time it takes to clear payments. I have to wait a couple of days after the payment is made for it to clear AND THEN 1-2 business days after it's cleared for the payout. They have an instant payout feature where they take a percentage of the amount transferred so you can get the payout immediately, but the fee adds up quickly.

Alternatives Considered: PayPal

Reasons for Choosing Stripe: My square account was compromised and I felt uneasy using it moving forward.

Switched From: Square Payments

Reasons for Switching to Stripe: I use both, but I added Stripe as a payment option because some of my clients did not like PayPal or didn't have PayPal accounts.
