From Youtube to Vimeo Pro!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: I used to get paid by YouTube back in 2015 but I had signed up for Vimeo Pro for free. I do personally like the platform on Vimeo better than YouTube and Vimeo feels more hip and young. It is for those who are into high resolution graphics and videomaking. It is not like YouTube where the videos are created from smartphone tools. It is for professional videomakers, animators, and motion graphics artists. It is the main reason why I joined Vimeo Pro, but now, it is turning into a career.

Pros:

My company is focused on creating graphic designs and motion graphics to promote my artistic products, and Vimeo Pro is the perfect way to make my products promoted online. During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my employer so I decided to use my time to promote my online business. I had it established in 2015 but I was working for my employer for the last four years and did not have time to make proper sales. Instead of just sales, Vimeo Pro has helped me create an online community for those interested in my brand. It has been a lot of fun and the features on Vimeo Pro always excite me.

Cons:

My least favorite feature is the high costs involved in maintaining my online presence on Vimeo Pro. MY favorite feature is the videomaking tool which I do have to pay a monthly subscription for, but there are so many costs involved. It was like starting my own channel by paying Vimeo to keep maintaining my videos. It has been an expensive journey for me as a member of Vimeo Pro.

Alternatives Considered: YouTube Mentions

Reasons for Choosing Vimeo: I made the switch from posting videos on YouTube to Vimeo because Vimeo seemed more professional for me as a videomaker. I was using Vimeo at the time to upload my animation reels but now, Vimeo is like a career option for me to hire a team and promote my brand products. I went from wanting to become an animator to a Vimeo brand promoter. It is always fun uploading my videos on Vimeo. I also don't get as many offensive comments on Vimeo as I do on YouTube. YouTube does not have good control over the offensive comments posted online.

Reasons for Switching to Vimeo: I chose Vimeo Pro because it is professional and the Vimeo Create is my favorite feature. On YouTube, everything looks outdated and unnecessary. Vimeo has a stronger professional and hip presence, drawing younger media professionals. I don't get offensive comments on my Vimeo like I do from YouTube because Vimeo has a smaller market. Vimeo also provides OTT services and the ability to sell videos I have created to those interested in my videomaking style.

Easy to distribute my videos to my clients and managing team folders

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Quality videos and marketing strategies creating a more connected and productive team in the long run.

Pros:

I can easily engage several teams on the platform and I have the freedom to switch between them. No worries of background disturbances, videos can be mute to avoid them. Also, it brings stability in performance and our overall goal. Creates beautiful presentations which came be customized to make them more appealing. In the case where files in question are too large or contain parts which are not relevant, trimming is possible. This improves efficiency in the final results. It is generally a very easy to use tool.

Cons:

Well, no cons experienced so far. Work is always done to expectations.

Vimeo helps me advertise my business.

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: Vimeo really helps me design some amazing content. I also love saving my videos and having the ability to share them out to a specific group of people. I also have the ability to hide the video after some time from the group I originally shared it with. I love the functions of being able to create new and exciting promo videos even on my phone!

Pros:

I love the ease of making videos and saving content. It has so many options to plug into an already made design or you can start from scratch and make your own.

Cons:

I really haven't had anything I don't like about it. The ease of this is just too great.

Vimeo support is abysmal

1.0 2 years ago

Comments: Sad about what it's become.

Pros:

I used to like Vimeo's features, protection of videos, and customization. The support also used to be excellent.

Cons:

The support is just awful -- they don't actually respond to the information or questions entered. And their documentation doesn't match what support parrots back -- even when I supplied links to their documentation.

Alternatives Considered: Wistia

Reasons for Choosing Vimeo: To protect my videos from downloading and sharing.

Switched From: YouTube

Reasons for Switching to Vimeo: At the time, pricing. But now Wistia is about the same.

Enterprise-worthy video marketing, analytics and privacy tool.

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: High quality video experience. Basically recording screen, sharing thoughts and getting things done faster with async video.

Pros:

Vimeo makes it easier to manage and organize video content effectively, saving time and effort. We can showcase our services easily to generate more leads and increase customer engagement. We have experienced an improvement in SEO through optimization of video content in video hosting. It is user-friendly and cost-effective too making it an ideal solution for us.

Cons:

The platform may not be very suitable for users that exclusively rely on video content for revenue generation as it may be hard to monetize them on this platform.
