The first 10 minutes feel like magic: you describe an idea and you get a working prototype. The marketing pitch ("build apps in minutes") delivers as long as you stay inside the polished demo flow. > > **Cons**: The product breaks the moment you step outside the tutorial. Half the features don't deliver what they promise. Most apps I tried to build for real use turned out unusable. Billing is the biggest red flag. Base44 silently created TWO parallel subscriptions on TWO workspaces of the same account, both billed to the same card. Each "Plan and billing" page shows ONE subscription and never warns about the other. So you cancel one and keep paying for the ghost. I tried to cancel three times. The first two looked successful in the UI but charges kept landing. Today I was charged $50 the same day I cancelled. Support is non-existent. I opened a ticket on March 29 describing the broken cancellation flow. I never received a single reply. On April 24 they auto-closed it as "Resolved" with the message "we haven't heard back from you" — I'm still wondering what I was supposed to reply to, given they never wrote back. I had to verify the cancellation directly on Stripe because Base44's own dashboard kept showing one subscription as "Active" even after Stripe had registered the cancellation. > > Disappointing. Looking at independent reviews on Trustpilot (currently 2.3/5 with 65% one-star ratings, and auto-generated topic tags including "Refund," "Payments," "Spam," "Customer service"), my experience appears to reflect a broader pattern, not an isolated case.
