Reviews of Yodeck
YoDeck has been a life saver.
Comments: In two years we grew from just having 2 devices, today we have 20 and we see even more opportunities to continue to grow the use. We recently began adding calendars for the conference rooms and we could do that with YoDeck as well. I much prefer a single platform for all of these, rather than 1 for conference room calendars and another for Dashboards, etc.
Pros:
YoDeck is both affordable and easy to use. setting up additional uses and limiting their access is easy. I have delegated the content of most screens to the office staff and they love it. A plus, is by making it easy to update, we are much more likely to have current and relevant information on the screens. Additionally, we build custom webpages - only hosted internally, but YoDeck has no problems accessing them.
Cons:
I find it can be a little finicky about updating when it only has a single slide. It seems to just cache the page and not refresh with new data. An easy fix is simply to have a placeholder slide (sometimes we use the weather app) and cycle between the two.
Easiest and Bestest for Small Schools
Comments: Yodeck has streamlined our digital signage by centralizing content management, making it easy to update and schedule displays remotely. Its intuitive platform and automated scheduling save us time and ensure our messaging is always current and consistent. The cost-effectiveness of Yodeck makes it a valuable tool for delivering impactful communication across multiple locations.
Pros:
Yodeck has been a game-changer for our signage needs. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, allowing us to manage and broadcast content across multiple screens easily. The scheduling feature is a standout, enabling us to efficiently plan and automate our displays. Additionally, the remote management capabilities have made updating content on the fly simple, ensuring our messaging is always current. Yodeck has streamlined our digital signage process, making it a valuable tool for our organization
Cons:
The one downside of Yodeck is its limited customization options for templates and layouts. While the platform is user-friendly, the design flexibility could be expanded to allow for more creative freedom in tailoring the signage to specific branding needs.
Alternatives Considered: AbleSign
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: We chose Yodeck for its ease of use, reliable remote management, and competitive pricing. The platform stood out for its intuitive interface, allowing our team to manage content efficiently without extensive training. Its scalability and proven reliability gave us confidence that Yodeck would meet our current needs and support future growth, making it the best fit compared to other options.
Great idea poor excution Frustrating Experience with Yodeck: Glitches, Complicated Setup, and Poor Customer Support
Pros:
Free Trial. Number of integrations available to use.
Cons:
I recently had the unfortunate experience of using the Yodeck application, and it left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. The issues I encountered ranged from constant glitches to an overly complicated setup process, coupled with abysmal customer support. As a potential customer, my experience has undoubtedly led me to reconsider my decision to purchase a player and license from Yodeck. First and foremost, the application's performance was far from satisfactory. Glitches were a constant companion, interrupting the smooth operation of the platform. This significantly undermined the reliability of Yodeck, making it difficult to trust the application for seamless content management. The setup process, touted to be user-friendly, turned out to be quite the opposite. The complexity of the installation and configuration procedures made the entire experience more challenging than it should be. For a user like me, seeking an intuitive and straightforward solution, Yodeck fell short of expectations. Adding to the frustration was the customer support, which proved to be utterly inadequate. When attempting to address the glitches and seek assistance with the setup, I encountered delays, unhelpful responses, and an overall lack of responsiveness. The level of support I experienced did not instill confidence in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. Considering the myriad issues I faced during my trial of Yodeck, I have decided to take a hard pass on purchasing a player and license. The combination of glitches, a convoluted setup process, and subpar customer support does not make for a compelling case for investing in this platform. Potential users should be wary of the challenges they may encounter and carefully consider whether Yodeck aligns with their expectations and requirements before making a commitment.
Great product with more features than most organizations will need
Comments: The onboarding was simple. A rep walked us through the process. The hardware came ready to use. The only thing left for the end user is to manage content. We load our announcement slides and set the date each one will expire, assign the slides to the desired monitors, and let Yodeck do all the work. We even use a severe weather alert feed because our area has experienced several catastrophic weather events.
Pros:
Yodeck does everything we need (and more) than a service we had before for price that is affordable for any size organization. The service expands as your organization expands its implementation. We had another very similar service that increased their fee to $2500/year for two unique digital sign outputs. We have expanded the number of digital signs for a fraction of the cost.
Cons:
In our church, we use the live video feed capability and there is a 1-2 second delay. In many situations the delay would be imperceivable but since our worship center and our atrium (where we use the live video fee) are adjacent, the delay is noticeable. We can live with it, but I wish there was less delay. This probably will not be an issue for most users who do not need to send a live video/audio signal through Yodeck from a production control room.
Multiyear Yodeck review (2024)
Comments: As a Yodeck user for the past eight years (currently 2024) our overall experience has been very positive, I would highly recommend!
Pros:
Yodeck is super simple to setup and manage. Adding other users to help push out new playlists is also very easy and helpful. If a player goes offline for any reason a notification is sent to my email letting me know the status. The platform is very stable and everything is managed over a Wi-Fi connection.
Cons:
Honestly cannot think of a single thing to dislike!
