What Is Microsoft Planner?

Microsoft Planner is a new app from Microsoft that helps teams organize their work. Planner gives teams a simple visual view of what everyone's working on, whether it's updating key milestones on a project timeline or sharing files with your distributed team. Planner integrates with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook and SharePoint, so it's easy for people to stay connected. And since the app syncs between desktop, web and mobile, organizers can keep their plans up to date from wherever they are.

Microsoft Planner helps get project plans started and moved into the cloud. Teams can see updates, upload files, send messages, and start conversations from Outlook or Planner on any device. Organize projects in a simple visual agenda that shows who's working on what, when updates are due, and what needs to happen next with one click to join a conversation about a task or project.

My experience with Microsoft Planner

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: It has gone quite well for us, we managed to reduce costs by purchasing everything from a single provider (Microsoft). Previously we used Google apps for mail, repository and Zoho for projects and tasks, but now we have mail, planner, office software in a single dashboard.

Pros:

It is a tool that comes included with the licensing that we already pay for along with Office 365 and Exchange. It is very easy to add new users, which we link to our corporate Microsoft account. It helps us reduce user administration and licensing since all those who require this service and others from Microsoft are managed on the same platform.

Cons:

They are not dynamic like other tools we have used in the past. Obtaining gantt or flow charts is not something that simple. Although it helps the entire organization in general, users who manage projects still use project software especially when we have to follow up with third parties.

Pros:

A really simple to use kanban board which makes tracking projects, tasks, and activities easy. It's a great tool to use if working in a team working from multiple locations.

Cons:

The lack of add-ons does limit planner compared to some other tools.on the market.

Using Microsoft Planner as a Student

5.0 last month New

Comments: Microsoft Planner is a helpful tool for students to manage their tasks and projects, but it has some limitations. The interface is user-friendly and integrates well with other Microsoft Office tools, but the lack of features such as time tracking and limited customization options may be problematic for some users. Additionally, the tool's reliance on an internet connection and lack of offline functionality may make it less accessible for certain use cases. Overall, Microsoft Planner is a useful resource for students, but it may not be the best option for everyone.

Pros:

Microsoft Planner is a fantastic tool for students to manage their tasks and projects effectively. As a student, I found Microsoft Planner to be a valuable resource for keeping track of assignments, deadlines, and important dates. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and use. With features like color-coded labels and the ability to set due dates and reminders, it's simple to stay organized and prioritize tasks. The ability to assign tasks to specific members of a group project is also incredibly useful. One of the most significant advantages of using Microsoft Planner as a student is the integration with other Microsoft Office tools such as OneDrive and Teams. This integration makes it easy to share files and collaborate with others on projects seamlessly.Overall, I highly recommend Microsoft Planner to any student looking for a reliable and efficient way to manage their tasks and projects. The features and integration with other tools make it a must-have for any student looking to stay organized and on top of their work.

Cons:

Limited functionality: While the tool is easy to use, it lacks some features that would make it even more useful. For example, there is no built-in option to track time spent on tasks, which can be important for students who need to bill for their time or track how long they spend on assignments.Limited customization options: Microsoft Planner has a limited number of labels and categories to help organize tasks, which can be a problem for students who want more granular control over their assignments. The inability to create custom labels or categories means that students may struggle to keep tasks organized in a way that makes sense to them.Limited accessibility: While Microsoft Planner can be accessed through the web or mobile apps, it still requires an internet connection to use. This can be problematic for students who need to work on assignments while offline or who don't have a reliable internet connection. Additionally, the lack of offline functionality can make it difficult to use the tool while traveling or in areas with poor internet connectivity.

Efficiency and Organization: A Student's Take on Microsoft Planner

4.0 last month New

Comments: Overall, as a student, my experience with Microsoft Planner was very positive. The platform provided me with a simple and effective way to manage my tasks and collaborate with my team, which helped me stay organized and on top of my work. Despite a few limitations, I found Microsoft Planner to be a valuable tool that made it easier for me to succeed in my studies.

Pros:

I liked how Microsoft Planner made it easy for me to stay organized and on top of my tasks. The platform's user-friendly interface and intuitive design made it simple for me to create and manage tasks, set deadlines, and track progress. I also appreciated the ability to collaborate with my team on tasks and projects, which made it easy for us to stay on the same page and ensure that nothing fell through the cracks.

Cons:

The only thing I didn't like about Microsoft Planner was that some of its features and capabilities could be a bit limited. For example, I would have liked to be able to include more detailed information about each task, such as subtasks and notes. Additionally, I found that some of the mobile app's features were not as robust as the desktop version, which made it a bit harder to manage tasks on-the-go.
