Reviews of Microsoft Word
Alternatives Considered:
A proven, reliable programme with excellent functionality
Comments: I've used Microsoft Word in countless roles for over two decades and have always been pleased with the experience it provides. Intuitive for beginners but with a bit of extra delving and study, the programme offers lots of useful advanced functions.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is very intuitive to use and if you should struggle with any aspect of it use, the help function is comprehensive and easy to use. The huge range of templates available and the thorough spelling/grammar checks mean that anyone can produce professional looking documents. Mail merge is very easy to use and very useful for large scale communications. Frequent updates mean that functions and user experience are continually improving.
Cons:
Microsoft office is quite expensive, yet you do get good value for money. The interface is a bit dated - but if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Microsoft Word - five stars
Comments:
I use Word every day to create and read documents.
It has a lot of features, not only "text related" (e.g. you can insert images, graphs, create tables, protect your file with password...). I tried other products for word processing, but Microsoft Word is the best.
Pros:
I think Microsoft Word is the best text editor ever. During the years it has been improved a lot (but it was already the best at its beginning). Creating a document (for example a letter, a manual, a gift card or banner) is really easy, plus you can choose among a lot of templates instead of starting from zero. The interface is simple and clean, in the home section you have most of the features you need. Just choose the font and its size if you don't like the default ones. You can save your files as docx but also you can convert them to pdf thanks to microsoft print to pdf (simply press CTRL P and choose the virtual printer). Word is a stable program, runs smooth and you can interact with files created with older versions without any problem.
Cons:
Obviously you have to buy the office suite to use Word, but it's worth the price (there are many plans available).
Love the product, not the price
Pros:
Easy to use, many functions, organized, can be opened on multiple devices, sharing ability.
Cons:
The price. Unfortunately, there are cheaper options. That’s my only qualm!
Alternatives Considered:
It keeps getting better each year!
Pros:
Power packed document editor - supported universally on all platforms Windows, Mac, iOS, Android etc. Easy to save as other formats like PDF. Easy to collaborate with team right through Office 365 tools and easy to secure the document with password and other restrictions as needed.
Cons:
When saving a document, it pushes the user to save to OneDrive instead of giving unbiased opinion to save to OneDrive or local computer folder.
Easy To Use and work with
Comments: I have always had a great experience using Word, for handling documents and contracts. The ease of use and the ability to see all pages as a grid have been the best discoveries for displaying document products to show how many pages are available. Recovering unsaved documents after a power crash or other unexpected closing has been a lifesaver.
Pros:
Things I like: -Saving files in different formats -Opening PDF files for editing - Adding customizations to a document - Locking documents -Sharing documents to track access -Notes in documents for collaboration - Saving documents can be on your computer or cloud - Unsaved document recovery
Cons:
- Not free to use - PDF conversions are not always right - Some documents saved are hard to find since default saving sometimes changes after updates
