Easiest way to achieve authentication through external devices We can easily access intranet resources by using symantec It has very nice mobile application which includes your credential id. We can opt 6 digit code which we can use while loggin on different sites. -Best UI -Ease of use -Best mobile app -SSO cab be achievable easily -If we try to access application which is stated at intranet then instead of code we can get push notification as well where we have enrolled symantec vip. -we can use this for scanning qr codes and securely save your backup password in wallet.

Cons:

cost is high compare to other competetiors at market. Process for enrolment is long and confusing that should be easy and user can setup initial things quickly. If your device got lost where you have installed this then there is process of deresgistering and then again follow the same process.

Symantec VIP review

Pros:

I like how quietly it works, I nearly never have to use the auto-generated code in order to validate my credentials, I like how simple it is and the way this app displays a very useful menu in a little square.

Cons:

the app only gives you 30 seconds to copy the security code, when I change my passwords on my OS I also have to update the VIP access and go thru the validation process in order to receive the new code by phone call or SMS, instead of updating it automatically

Comments: Easy to manage all external logins easily and securely. Hassle free ui makes users to enforce this kind of 2FA activation where users can easily access data from personal laptop as well
And which will improve the productivity overall.

Pros:

-Best in industry -Best way to get all notification on mobile for 2FA for external logins -Mobile app and ui is very very simple and registration is quite easy to understand and user friendly I have never use this kind of smooth and hassle free software.

Cons:

When we get notification and we accept the request from app then quite often time it didn't redirect properly hence request get failed which then requires 6 digit code to copy n paste from app again.

Comments: I wanted a fast and easy way to securely access my accounts through all my devices, and Symantec VIP has built that product.

Pros:

Symantec VIP Access allows me to sign into my work accounts and devices no matter where I am in the world. They are safe, secure, and reliable - everything I require and expect. You can really tell how much effort they put into their user design for customer interface. I appreciate the little details like the loading animation when a security code changes.

Cons:

If you lose your device, the process to unlink the old device and then registering a new device can be tricky - but after following the helpful guides on their website, it was a breeze.

Seamless 2-Factor Authentication Solution Ever!!!

Comments: Earlier for accessing application which comes under intranet was not accessible - we have introduce with this approach which has 2FA and it was very easy job. We have achieved lot of things and remote access to many application internally. Those application doesn't have SSP enabled we can enable 2fa for this and we can secure our data seamlessly.

Pros:

Best mobile application and very easy for use for beginners as well as for non technical guys too. Mobile UI and accessibility is it five star service and we can relay on it fully. In our organization we can access intranet application using Symantec and which is best thing happened with us. It is very helpful and trustworthy.

Cons:

Process for registering credential ID at first time. It is bit confusing and user has to enter ID which is exist in application. Symantec should provide guide for this and it is very much needed.

VIP for your healthcare 2 factor authentication

Pros:

It's a minimalist piece of software. I've experienced zero bugs with both the desktop version and IOS version with my physicians. Takes 2 minutes to setup and start working.

Cons:

I wish it had an 'Always on top" function or a minimized function with the rotating VIP code. Our doctors use this all the time and have to tab back over or park it in a 2nd monitor, which is an extra click every time they send controlled substances using its 2 factor.

Great for any company looking to beef up security.

Comments: Being an admin for my company, i interface with this daily. Whether it is for me personally or a user that needs assistance. Overall, it has been a great product. One that gives me little to no heada hes. A must buy if you want to increase security.

Pros:

The software it self is quite easy to handle. Registration is a breeze in the admin portal. When set up properly it run seamlessly by hitting the check mark. Gives you that peace of mind knowing you are backed by a second layer of security.

Cons:

One of the draw backs is that if the app gets uninstalled and reinstalled, it requires you to register the new credential ID.

Incredible product!

Pros:

Symantec VIP is a great virtual private network option for any device you use at home or at work. It downloads in seconds and getting set up is very easy. There are a lot of VPN offerings out there, and this one is top notch for not being considered overly expensive.

Cons:

No cons at this time. Symantec has been doing security for a long time and can be trusted. No need to look further.

Easy to use, but has to be installed everywhere you use it

Comments: Security is always a hot topic. With this I am sure noone can access most of my data outside of the office.

Pros:

Simplicity and effectiveness. It is easy to understand how to use it with simple instructions, doesn't take up time to configure. It is simple to use on your PC or phone.

Cons:

It makes thing hard when it comes to changing accounts, especially if using a token. If you change your account but have forgotten to log in and delete the existing link to the token, the token basically becomes useless.... You need to have it installed everywhere, if by chance you want to have an easy immediate access in case of emergency.

Easy access to secure information from home

Pros:

I have Symantec VIP installed on my phone. This allows me to securely access applications and documents from home. Our organization allows a "push" notification for logging in with this software. I can just type "push" and Symantec alerts me to provide my fingerprint on my phone to grant me access to whatever I am needing. Sometimes I still need to use the code feature but that is easy and all I have to do is tap and hold on the generated code to copy it to my clipboard.

Cons:

I can't think of any cons to this software. I have heard feedback from others in my organization that they do not have enough time to get the code and use it before a new code is displayed. Feedback from Symantec, however, verified that the codes are good for longer than the display period on the screen (2-3 minutes I believe). Perhaps better clarification on the code page would help reduce the misinformation and client anxiety around this feature.

VIP ACCESS

Comments: I have been very satisfied with the performance of Symantec VIP

Pros:

USING SYMANTEC VIP GIVE EXTRA PIECE OF MIND THAT IMPORTANT AND SENSITIVE INFO IS PROTECTED. IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE AND THEY EVEN HAVE A MOBILE APP.

Cons:

THE ONLY ISSUE THAT I HAVE WITH SYMANTEC VIP IS THAT IT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THE CODE TO UP REFRESHED.

Works Great!

Pros:

I like mostly that you can keep it open but in your "tray" and just click it once and a small window in the bottom right corner pops up with large font numbers with a count-down digital timer you can see which tells you when the numbers reset.

Cons:

I had to get an IT guy to help me set this up

Pros:

This software is easy to use and allows me to surf the web without problems. The software runs its diagnostics and I continue to work. It alerts me if there is anything wrong with my computer.

Cons:

Sometimes it can slow the computer down.

This system allows me to connect from our business network from and gives me the ability to continue working remotely

Cons:

I have notice a few times the code shows as avail however when i put it in it does not work, and i have to wait until the new code updates

Pros:

This software allows for the secure virtual prescription of medications. Due to increasing drug abuse and prescription forging, Symantec VIP helps to prevent medication abuse through secure prescribing.

Cons:

Generates a series of security keys that are used with the users username, these keys are newly generated every 60 seconds, and if the user is too slow at inputting their info, the key changes and may delay prescribing.

Very good better than google authenticator

Pros:

Mobile interface is very good Easy to access also the web portal is easy to use Users can register and manage all their credentials at one place

Cons:

Very few and less customisable reports Also very costly than compitition Doesn't give value for money Also the enrollment process is little tricky

Symantec Has Abandoned its Mid-Market Customers

Pros:

It has a large install base, which means there's a lot of knowledgebase articles and support out there.

Cons:

It's bloated, behind the curve on technology and since it was acquired by Broadcomm, there's no more support unless you're an enterprise customer.

Excellent option for two factor authentication

Pros:

It's a very easy way to provide an extra layer of security. I've never had an issue copying the code from my phone, I find the allotted 30 seconds to be plenty of time. It was fairly easy to set up and I've had no issues using it since my first day.

Cons:

It does require you to have access to your phone -- sometimes I worry that I will forget my device and that will cause an issue for access. The timer only gives you 30 seconds to copy the six digit authentication code, but that's not an issue for me.

Easy to use and gets the job done

Pros:

It makes it easy to sign in with two-factor authentication by generating the 6 digit code to type in when I sign into the network. It does what it's supposed to do.

Cons:

It was a little confusing to set up a second device on my account.

Great SSO Solution

Pros:

This is a great multifactor authentication and Single sign on solution. Helps manage your login information in this password driven computing world.

Cons:

It serves almost all my needs except for the fact that it is 100% cloud based. Which is an issue for organisations need for an on premise solution.

Does its thing and does it well

Pros:

I click it and get my code without any other options that I'm not interested in. I can get right to the important thing I need without extra clicks or instructions, as soon as the app is launched.

Cons:

The timing does dictate that if I click my login on my computer, before I pull up the code on the app, then it doesn't seem to work. but that's such a minor inconvenience when the app functions so well.

Easy Setup

Comments: VIP makes setting up remote access for users very simple. This allows us to add and remove users as needed when someone needs to work from home or is no longer doing such.

Pros:

The simplicity of the software makes management a breeze. Setting up remote access with the VIP authenticator takes only a few steps before they are ready to go.

Cons:

If you switch authentication devices (getting a new phone), resetting the credential can be troublesome occasionally.

Super Secure and Easy !!!

Pros:

Best feature of this software is proximity unlock. You can skip old fashioned password typing method, just go close to Computer and unlock. Two-factor authentication makes the system more secure. Good GUI.

Cons:

gives some hiccups in newer version of android, sometimes doesn't work in split screen. But these can be managed in newer version(didn't try). Overall good.

Great two-factor authentication tool

Pros:

VIP Two Factor authentication by Symantec is super easy to use in both its web and mobile version. It is very lightweight and works amazingly fast. Also its very easy to setup and install in minutes.

Cons:

No complaints for it. Its as minimalist as a 2FA tool should be.
