Thus far, my experience with Alora has been overall very good.

4.5 11 years ago

Pros:

I am a fairly new user with lots of learning ahead of me. At this point of use with our new company, the software has been user-friendly and seems to be very comprehensive in the home care field. The best thing thus far has been the help/support I have received. They have been extremely helpful with resolving some issues and training, as well as with answering questions in a friendly and prompt manner. They have not only helped resolved what I felt like were some big issues but have also taken the time on several occasions to teach me. Our rep is very patient and personable. When it comes down to it, in my opinion, all the home care software out there is similar, for the most part, with varying degrees of bells and whistles, as well as price. Besides price, the thing that sets software vendors apart is the support staff who work with the agencies using the software. Alora has a really good team, and I think that will build on their reputation in a very positive way. I also like how Alora will listen to users that have suggestions to make something easier or better with the software and then sometimes make changes/updates to accommodate. It gives the users a sense of teamwork - that Alora is always trying to make the software better for its users, not just customers with no voice. I like how Alora is constantly updating and sending the updates to the users. I also like the ability to open so many windows from a single window that I'm in to check information, etc. This is very helpful and useful. I really like the scrubbing tool! I think the price is reasonable. I am hoping it stays that way. The more I use the software and learn its capabilities, the more I like it.

Cons:

The biggest issue up to this point is that the system seems to crash a lot when I have entered and completed a 485 then go to print. I have lost all data more than once when this happened which was frustrating. I have now learned to hit the save button before I try to print. It still crashes at times, but when I reopen the software, the 485 is there.

Mediocre Product, Subpar Customer Service, Terrible Communication

2.0 5 months ago

Comments: As stated, the software functionally does what it is represented to do, but the customer service makes a client feel like they do not care. Do not expect a solid level of communication or service with this product.

Pros:

Software does the basics of what it is represented to do.

Cons:

Implementation was a long, unorganized process, where it took a long time for us to be able to bill. Customer service and responsiveness to issues, questions, etc. is very bad. Communication? Good luck getting a call back. We were setup for auto bill and still received notices that we were past due. We called THREE times and finally our bill was just processed - no follow-up, no here's what happened, no communication on it at all.

Alora is the best

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Billing made a lot easier with ALORA.

Pros:

Switching from Axxess to Alora is very easy. Staff of Alora is very knowledgable in what they do.

Cons:

Some of the features of the software like carrying over the therapy notes from OASIS to POC doesn't work and PT visit notes doesn't carryover to the next PT visit notes.

Alora has been a great choice for us.

5.0 last year

Comments: Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of Alora. Software has brought efficiency of tasks, as well as increased our billing revenues with less rejected/incorrect billing claims with approved/correct codes checked and validated before billing. It did not take us long to see benefits of Alora that we were not expecting when looking to change, in other words, it did not only meet our expectations, but surpassed them.

Pros:

Ease of software, an all-in-one system. Helped us be compliant with the EVV requirement with the state. Billing validation.

Cons:

We really have not experienced any negative with Alora and have absolutely no regrets.

Administrative assistant/ Office manager/ Billing Manager

Comments: On the Classic Version we do not have a place to put comment when the patient has a change on the profile.
For the New Web version on the Oasis there is no name and date the person who made change on the Oasis.

Pros:

Alora is easy software to use, to access and manage with the help of the windows that the programmer created for the client to be able to use. This software gives opportunity to any user whatever the level of computer knowledge to use it without worrying about the improvement of the work; you do not try to think too much to do the work. It is software that does not require much computer knowledge for its use. It is software that accepts the whole level of study to use it.

Cons:

What concerns me the most after the webinar training there are no certificates provided to encourage all those who have taken the training that will allow the motivation and the participation of the user to follow the software update and some changes rules from CMS

A Great System Overall - May Lack Specificity for Some Applications.

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall, I think it was a good system. For our particular specialty, it lacked the specificity we needed for many of our forms and the EVV system was better on other platforms. The lack of specificity in the forms meant a lot of extra work on our end, to create many of the documents that we regularly use for Medicaid authorization renewals.

Pros:

My favorite component of the system is one that is often underrated, the dashboard. The dashboard is not only visually appealing, but well organized with lots of helpful information at a glance. The system seemed very flexible in the sense that you can free form a lot of things. If you already have a very specific setup for many of your forms, this can work really well for you as you.

Cons:

The downside to the flexibility of the forms is that it lacks specificity. This means that, out of the box, you will have more work to do in setting up your forms than other EMR systems. It take s a while to customize many of these forms which takes time and effort away from the daily business.

Easy to use and all in one place!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Alora has helped our agency grow; it allows us to use for our Home Health patients as well as our Home Care clients. It is easily grasped by staff, whether you or old, technically savvy or not, they usually pick up quickly.

Pros:

I love that everything is in the same place, you can find information for your staff as well as your clients/patients. Very easy to use once you get used to it.

Cons:

When there is a connection problem or lagging in the scheduling which I have noticed lately when filling in a lot of appointments.

Alora

5.0 last year

Comments: Alora has aided in coming into compliance with EVV and also with billing streamlining.

Pros:

Alora seems to be well suited for visit to visit nurse charting. There is also nice flow from OASIS to Plan of Care. We have had occasional difficulty with times from visit notes not transferring to times on the scheduler upon completion of nursing visit notes. Overall, nursing is satisfied with Alora.

Cons:

Occasional "glitch", for example with visit times not flowing from note to scheduler.

Continued Customer

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

This system can be very easy to use and train others. I do everything from clinical to billing and it’s pretty easy.

Cons:

I hope they are not growing too fast that my needs and requests sit on the back burner. I’ve seemed to get slower responses from Alora when I really need the changes complete or things to work right. Otherwise I’m the one putting in more work.

Mostly Good!

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

Easy to use and set-up is nice. I that thing carry over from one chart to the next or one note to the next.

Cons:

That sometimes it runs slow or boots up off. But you can usually log back on and start where you left off. Sometimes it takes more than one try to upload something into EHR.

Alora Love

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: We love it. We're glad we switched while we were small because switching now would be a ton of work.

Pros:

We initially looked into Alora so we could switch from paper charting to computer charting. I chose it because I like the way the nurse note is organized. We were also happy to be able to have patient files, employee files, scheduling and billing all in one place.

Cons:

The admission assessment is 35 pages long.

Payment summary issue

4.0 9 years ago

Pros:

Very helpful and work to get issues resolved. Everyone is quite professional and personal at the same time.

Cons:

The system has glitches in it making my job more difficult to work around the issues ie; there is still not a fix in Alora for the same billing code, same date with different shifts to populate on a single line item on the claim. This causes the claim when submitted electronically to see the second line item as a duplicate entry and does not pay causing me to change it in the other online system. This can be time consuming if there are a lot of entries and a lot of claims in this situation.

Only the best!

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

I have been using the Alora system since I began working with my current employer and I could not be happier. I have worked with other employers in the past who had implemented sub-par Home Health Care software and I can confidently say that Alora stands tall above the competition. I greatly recommend it if you are serious about your business.

Cons:

Customer Service will sometimes be overwhelmed with calls and you will not get the assistance you need immediately. But, they have a convenient message system that allows a representative to call you back as soon as spot becomes available.

A Leader In Home Health Care Software

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

Alora is a leader in Home Health Care Software for its sensitivity to the evolving healthcare field and its wide-spread functionality. Once Telephony tracking was implemented, I knew that Alora was the program that we needed. I have used other home healthcare software company products in the past with other agencies but Alora takes the cake for its ascended level of modern functionality.

Pros:

Overall, I would recommend this to employers in need of some organization.

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

I like how easy it is to navigate between patient information and employee information. It's very simple to update any records as well.

Cons:

I would have to say the only con would be that it runs a little bit slow at times and will freeze from time to time.

It get's the job done.

4.0 9 years ago

Pros:

The service personnel respond very quickly to queries. The software is easy to understand from a nurse's perspective in filling out OASIS and nursing documents. At the administration level, it's a little harder to understand, but the staff is always willing to assist.

Cons:

The product could have a much more robust error-checking system or verifying system. The text that builds the 485 from the OASIS documents has errors. This reviewer knows of programs that have more robust error and data scrubbers.
