About NAPA TRACS
Providing estimating, shop management, technical information and CRM solutions to the aftermarket since 1989.
It is very user friendly. We recently switched to Enterprise so we can easily order from Napa, Advance, Worldpac, etc.
VIN decoder for late model vehicles isn't always accurate, and often times transfers the wrong vehicle to the labor guide.

Tracs has been good to us! Was a little overwelming to get started because it can do so much.
Pros:
The things we like are the ability to make estimates that are complete and ready to turn into repair orders that are already finished when the car arrives. All aspects of the work order are modifiable at any time. Notes are easy to apply and sub estimates stay in history. It is easy to export to Quick Books. The support team has been able to keep us up and running. Our rep. is great! he is there for us when we want to take Tracs to the next step, or if we have a crisis. (such as a computer crash Friday night and a new set up on Sunday)
Cons:
It would be nice if you could open multiple windows or history RO's over top of each other for clip board pasting or searching history. would be nice to look at history RO's and be able to open the parts items and see where they were purchased. Would be nice if Pro link would not close until you closed it while working on a repair order. Would be nice if the labor estimator had a more detailed menu (more choices)

Hi Rick, We are currently working on a version that will allow you to have multiple windows open at once. This upgrade will be made avaialbe to all current users by end of Q3 2018. The Labor guide in NAPA TRACS is a direct interface to Mitchell PRODemand Labor. HINT! Use a Wild Card to narrow your search. Type WAT* for Water Pump and you will see where that labor is. You are one click away from there! M1 is working on type ahead functionality in the labor section. Will make it easier for the customer to get where they wan to go.

Benefits of NAPA TRACS
Comments: I really like Napa TRACS. Anytime i need to access invoices or estimates i can simply hook up to my laptop and move forward. I didn't need to buy any special electronics to utilize the product. Being able to let the consumer see how professional and sophisticated the software looked was a huge bonus and made my store even more appealing.
Pros:
Being able to look up VIN's and license plate numbers really help in accurately identifying a vehicle.
Cons:
Some small glitches may occur, so you need to check your invoices before you finalize anything. Really not that big an issue, since you should be double checking anyways.
Needs work
Pros:
Napa Enterprise is a good software to use to manage small business and easy to use. The work order management is a great system and is a huge improvement from Napa Legacy.
Cons:
Big downer is when receiving payment you can only receive one payment at a time and you must type in the amount to receive. Napa Legacy would auto fill in the amount with the customer balance and after receiving payment you could select another customer. Napa Enterprise makes it so you have to exit the payment screen and reload it to select another customer. Slows down receiving to a crawl.
Great selection of parts for cars
Comments: Overall great experience to get parts as needed.
Pros:
I like the fact that they have a great selection of parts.
Cons:
Sometimes inventory and delivery can be an issue.
NAPA TRACS
Comments: The longer I use, it is getting easier to use, I would not want to go back to writing out tickets.
Pros:
Being new to a SMS in a small repair shop , it saves so much time invoicing and quoting jobs.
Cons:
Living in a very rural area, we don't get the hands on help to learn new system, but tech line is very helpful.

NAPA TRACS Review
Comments: So far, so good. NAPA TRACS is great for managing equipment.
Pros:
Helps our company maximize efficiency to grow our business.
Cons:
There is nothing that comes to my mind that I dislike anything about NAPA TRACS.
Great service
Comments: My overall experience with Napa is great and I would recommend this to everyone I know
Pros:
Napa is a great website to help me build my auto motive business and help my clients at the same time and build my business successful
Cons:
There’s nothing list about Napa. It’s just a great website to help my clients and at the same time but my might
Auto repair
Pros:
The ease of use and the price point of the product
Cons:
That I didn’t know about it sooner in business.
essencial app
Pros:
estimated costs and time frame, customized transit.
Cons:
overall works fine for our purposses. we are nor a repair auto shop
Alternatives Considered:
This is the only autoshop mgmt software we've used; so for what it's worth, I do recommend it
Pros:
We are a growing company and Tracs has helped us with our growing pains. We've been using Tracs for just over 3 years and there are many features we haven't utilized yet, but are looking forward to using. One of my favorite features is the subestimate. You can create as many as you need under one work order and using ProDemand estimating makes it easy for even office staff to create estimates.
Cons:
When you accept partial payment on an invoice, it prints the payment type and amount on the invoice, but it also prints PAID in bold letters next to the total. There is no balance printed. There is no ability to apply bulk payments to individual invoices without going into each invoice and accepting payment. Also, I wish there was something in the Customer Account Summary that indicated which invoices were paid and which are outstanding. The statement seems to only apply it to the oldest invoice, even if you apply it within the invoice instead a bulk payment. RepairLink doesn't support Heavy Duty through Tracs.
Mixed
Comments: We have used TRACS since it was DOS based. We have seen a lot of bad features come and go, as well as the good. It is easy to use for the most part but can be a little daunting for a service writer in a hurry.
Pros:
Inventory management is very useful and easy to use. We love that Repair Link and ProDemand links are now part of the screen. Being able to undo an invoice is a great add as well. Calling TRACS Support is always a great experience. Some of them even call back to make sure you're getting along ok!
Cons:
Repair orders and invoicing needs a lot of work. If you have more than five items in your repair order, good luck maneuvering around. Switching over to the profitability screen or technician screen gives you a much easier view. However, they have taken away the ability to drag items around in these screens. There are also way too many columns in each of these two screens. Please bring back spell check!
Highly Recommend
Comments: We have been using them for a long time and they are constantly updating and keeping up with the times. The support is great and have always been able to help me with whatever I need.
Pros:
It is very user friendly. We recently switched to Enterprise so we can easily order from Napa, Advance, Worldpac, etc.
Cons:
I do not like the coloring on the screen. I liked to be able to easily see when parts were following the pricing rules. I also do not like how the appointment screen looks. It would be nice to be able to see a preview of what the ro is for. I also hate that the RO numbers do not come up when you order from anyone except Napa. Instead it puts a generic purchase order number and you have to guess what the part is for when it gets here.
Napa Tracs liking it
Comments: Overall I’m really happy with Napa Tracs
Pros:
Overall I feel that tracks is a easy system to learn and operate. A lot of the new features in Enterprise make things easy. But there are some areas that could use some improvement.
Cons:
Hard to reconcile invoices, would be nice if you could use the escape button like you used to be able to to exit out of something. Would love to be able to customize the color system used to flag things like customers waiting etc.. I really like the new scheduler except when I make appointments for existing customers I am not able to change their information like telephone number or if they’ve gotten a new vehicle I can’t add or delete a vehicle from the scheduler page would be nice to be able to do that all in one step
Tracs is OK not Great
Comments: It does basic functions well. Advanced features are difficult to find and hard to implement. I honestly believe the program could do just about anything you wanted to, but you would never find out because it's not user friendly. So, we just use it for invoicing and recordkeeping
Pros:
It does what it NEEDS to do for us. Generates invoices and tracks customer history. That's why we have it, that's what it does
Cons:
I know the system has many features we do access. This program is "report generating machine"!!! However, I don't want or need 98% of them. And initial training will NEVER cover all the features Tracs has. One must learn by trial and error (with a lot of error sometimes)
Dunno
Pros:
85% good 85% good 85 % good 85 percent good
Cons:
Cons for software, I had two locations so when I go to invoice someone and accept payment it automatically fills in the blank on how much they should pay. however if they previously had a balance from the former shop it doesn't calculate the right amount owed. definitely screwed me out of money when one of my employee's accept a payment and they don't accept the right amount. because of a software glitch.
Napa Traces Enterprise
Comments: So far I have had no issues with software, except one time when [SENSITIVE CONTENT] went down across the US. A very good tool, wish I had more time to use other features of it but with running the business and having employees my time is limited.
Pros:
It works with my QB, easy to use. I use Asset management also with Tracs to track tech's time.
Cons:
sometimes the flexibility on going back to an invoice from a month or so ago and not being able to open it, make any changes for bookkeeping purposes, etc.
Great product for your shop
Pros:
Ease of use, intergration with parts and labor guides. scheduling has gotten a lot better
Cons:
Accounting is not user friendl by any means.
Is there a good software program for the money.
Comments: Its good record keeping. Not bad at making repair orders. Not worth the money.
Pros:
Making repair orders and putting NAPA parts and pricing right into the order.
Cons:
Price. There is so much in this software but NAPA representative's have no training on the product.
After receiving a new territory rep for Tracs, we are much more at ease with the program.
Pros:
Program operates as it should, territory rep has helped immensely with getting our unused/unprogrammed portion working after many years. It pays to have a local person to help with questions and help with programming setup.
Cons:
Tracs has been pretty slow with changes in the software over the years. Probably because they relied on their parts sales people to recommend changes. Our territory Tracs rep has been tremendous getting us up and running better. I agree with another reviewer that we should be able to incorporate google calendar into Tracs, the schedule in Tracs is very hard to use, I would like to be able to add who and what I want without creating a work order. Tracs needs to have a direct link in Tracs for VIN Decoding instead of in ProLink. I have stopped using the NAPA Mobile App Vin Decoder due to its inaccuracy. Parts ordering could be improved with other suppliers besides NAPA.

Hi Paula, We have averaged (3) updates a year to the application. We gather changes for future development from our customer base. The majority of these are from our User Group Meetings as well as our online training sessions. We also get them from our Support Staff based upon customer request. We compile those and look at what makes the most sense for the majority of our customer base. I agree, the ¿Calendar¿ in Legacy TRACS is hard to use. We are currently redesigning how it looks, operates and integrates to other products. Google Calendar is a good suggestion.
Great product
Comments: I have used TRACS for 20 years and have been a power user and attended training and have even participated in assisting the support team troubleshoot and correct issues. Everyone I have dealt with these past 20 years has been friendly and helpful. The features and benefits as well as the overall ability of the software to perform all needed activities is amazing. Very few users can even comprehend how much TRACS can accomplish.
Pros:
I use most every feature TRACS. The ability to connect, look up parts, transfer them to the work order and transmit the order is excellent. The support has been awesome since the first day. The TRACS team is constantly updating features.
Cons:
There are always things that some user may want and others may never use but the support team tries to add features when available to meet your needs.
Tracs
Comments: It’s been a very positive experience
Pros:
The support staff. They are always there and helpful. I never feel dump for asking a question they may think is basic
Cons:
I really don’t know of anything negative to say except that I think some of the updates are unnecessary and confusing. See I have a sight problem so ever simple changes can make my life miserable. But I catch on after awhile.
