Pros:

I like CenturyLink's pricing model and they don't hike up their prices unnecessarily.

Cons:

It's outrageously expensive in small markets, and they are often the only game in town so they can name their own price.

Overall good products. Support and customer service is not good.

4.0 last year

Comments: Service is great. Reliability function always good. Customer service maybe 1-3 on a scale of 1-10.

Pros:

I would say most of the services offered are great and reliability is top tier. No issues with services.

Cons:

We’ll support and customer service is horrid. I love there services but if you need any support it get difficult. It’s usually a call center and they don’t care too much. People and sales reps constantly change. Customer service is the worst. A simple removal of service becomes a days job to weeks or months.

Poorest company in the world.

1.0 2 months ago

Comments: worst customer service you could ever ask for. -10 starts given

Pros:

nothing, they cannot even get a simple appointment right then they just give you a bunch of lies and hope it helps them to get you off the phone. Liars all of them. Hope their ship crashes on a pile of rocks. Nothing and I mean nothing good about centurylink. Nothing!

Cons:

everything. poorest company i have ever dealt with hope they go down in flames by tomorrow!

Alternatives Considered:

Century Link is better than Xfinity in terms of pricing but that's about it

3.0 3 years ago

Comments: Decent, better than competitors but could be better and have more consistent Wifi speeds.

Pros:

CenturyLink has no contract unlike Xfinity which is 12 month contract. And it also has 940 mbps down and up.

Cons:

Wifi speeds is about 50mbps by default. If you plug in ethernet you can get to 940 Mbps. But from asking around, it seems like everyone is hard stuck to around 50mbps via Wifi no matter what. It could be the free modem they provided is just bad.

Niche markets for high priced services

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: I have been working with CenturyLink or part of it for 20 years. It was originally Qwest and CenturyTel, and Qwest has always had billing issues. It seems the merger brought out the worst in both companies. Their customer support is non-existent, if you ever do need support get ready to spend a day on hold and being disconnected many times until you finally end up with someone who may be able to help, and then you will get disconnected again an lose all hope, I think it's their model. I often just ignore issues until they are critical because I don't have the time or patience to sit on the phone for hours. And this part kills me, no matter what number you press, what you say, who you say it to, as a business you will ALWAYS 100% of the time end up in the home call center every time you call. I have entered in our account number, said "BUSINESS" very clearly, and every time I end up in the home queue and then someone asks me every single question I just answered on the automated system.

Pros:

They have an amazing service tech named [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who is the only one I ever call because he's the only one who gets things done. Phone service seems to work most of the time, just pray you never need tech support.

Cons:

It's outrageously expensive in small markets, and they are often the only game in town so they can name their own price. We have small locations with 1-2 staff where we pay more for service than larger 30-40 people offices simply because they have cornered the market and there is no competition. They also often make you bundle to "save" buying services we never use.

It's okay but not great

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: Aside CenturyLink's affordability, they honestly need to improve on their service and availability.

Pros:

I like CenturyLink's pricing model and they don't hike up their prices unnecessarily

Cons:

For about a month, we kept on getting service interruptions and that made us lose some valuable clients

Cons:

I experience some connection issues time to time. I would like to be more stability with this software system.

Consistent, but lacking features and expensive

4.0 last week New

Comments: Consistent. But it was about double the price of what we switched to.

Pros:

Even when the power went out, your phone can still work since it is a landline

Cons:

The phone set up we had did not keep a record of peoples phone numbers that call in
