choose better software
About Nucleus
Nucleus is virtual software that enables coaches, facilitators, and educators to run results-driven group programs.
I am one of 2 staff members at a small rural church with little to no budget for anything website or media related. The services which Nucleus offers are constantly improving.
It was the lack of customization but I know it was because it was just laying the ground work. And the team has since came out with several revision to add more customization.

Clean, simple websites for churches large and small
Comments: When it came time to redesign our website, I did a lot of research. I had heard of Nucleus, so I looked into what it offered. I decided to give it a try and have not regretted that decision. I had a lot of pages to rebuild when switching over, and it was done in way less time that it would have been done on other editors. The pages that Nucleus creates are clean, modern, and feature only what you need. And the fact that it is designed mobile-first means that it is future-proof in this digital age!
Pros:
Nucleus is incredibly easy to use. The interface is clean and straightforward, and putting pages together is quick and painless!
Cons:
There are features that more full-fledged website management software offers, but Nucleus is always iterating, and they have many more features planned that have been requested by users!

Best All-In-One Church Software
Comments: We have loved nucleus from the very beginning. Installing the launcher on our website as a central hub allows people to sign up, give, and stay up to date with all with one login for church admins, and attendees as well!
Pros:
I love the low rate on donation fees. It's the lowest you'll find anywhere. When you consider everything it includes, Nucleus offers CHMS, email, stock footage, social posts, giving, event registration, website builder and a sermon engine all for $199 month.
Cons:
They lack third party integration with a lot of major church softwares. You have to manually export CSV files in order to migrate people or update information. They also deposit online giving once or twice a day, which makes reconciliation a bit tedious.
Nucleus - A Must!!!
Pros:
Easy to use and simply to help reach your community for Jesus. Highly recommend.
Cons:
It too a few minutes to learn - but not too hard for the average tech savvy.
Alternatives Considered:
Nucleus is a no-brainer for small to mid sized churches.
Comments: Phenomenal. Top notch customer service. Incredible team. [sensitive content hidden] is a visionary and we leave a long lasting mark on the Kingdom.
Pros:
The ease of use. I can train several volunteers to run Nucleus because they have simplified it for the church. Their platform is driven by the mission to be invitational instead of just inspirational.
Cons:
I wish I didn't have to use other platforms to manage my people or schedule services (planning center) but it makes sense because I've been able to condense my web platform to stay with Nucleus. I used to use squarespace so that at least helped me consolidate that aspect of our platforms.

THE BEST all-in-one suite of website, social media, donation management products (+ beyond) around!
Comments: Again, clean, sleek, easy to use. And the team is top notch — helping my church any and every way they possibly could. I am very grateful for products and companies like Nucleus. You cannot go wrong with using Nucleus.
Pros:
Nucleus is hands down the best all-in-one suite of website, social media, donation management (+ beyond) around! I personally didn’t utilize the donation management side of things in my last church, but if we hadn’t already been so deeply rooted in utilizing Planning Center products, I would’ve had us make that switch in a flash. Clean, sleek, incredibly easy to use.
Cons:
I honestly cannot say I disliked anything during my period of use within my last ministry. My only “regret” is having to stop using it.
Alternatives Considered:
Nucleus has changed our church.
Comments: Was the best thing we've done for our church.
Pros:
I could rant and rave about every feature that has enabled significant growth in the last two years, but I'll say this instead: Nucleus saved us so much money, we hired another full time pastor. A 110-person church has two full-time pastors, all because Nucleus enabled our church and community to take more next steps and save on giving fees.
Cons:
Nucleus is meant for the small church to thrive- if you manage the website and communication for a large church ministry, you may be disappointed in the lack of customization across Nucleus products. But that's because Nucleus puts wise guardrails up for users who are running small ministries and need time saved or to make it easy for volunteers to manage the website and management stuff.

I love Nucleus!!!
Comments: It has simple and easy flows for guest to work through and if easy to navigate. I believe this is incredible important to keep people coming back to us our website over and over again.
Pros:
Nucleus was easy to integrate and use for our team of volunteers. This is so important for us being a small church. I would highly recommend this to any church both small or large.
Cons:
So far I have not found anything that I dislike about nucleus. It is a great platform!

Church related software & support that is ahead of it's time.
Comments: Before we joined Nucleus, our website was a static page that hadn't been updated in 5 years. There was no reason for our own members to ever check in because nothing ever changed. It was effective at one thing though, creating a sad first impression for newcomers looking for a church home. We will never know how many people came to our old website and were quickly turned away due to outdated information and stock photos. Nucleus has been a breath of fresh air.
Pros:
The simplicity is unbeatable. For the price, there is nothing like it. I am one of 2 staff members at a small rural church with little to no budget for anything website or media related. The services which Nucleus offers are constantly improving. Not to mention their incredibly friendly and effective staff that are there to help you every step of the way.
Cons:
There are of course downsides to any software. The main thing I have seen is the trade-off of creative freedom in the formatting on the part of the administrator. In other website builders, you will have countless templates, where currently there is only one format for your Nucleus site. This is a minor downside when you consider the clean, modern, and simple user experience. Something that is missing from most church websites.

The Gold Standard for Digital Church Strategy
Pros:
First is their philosophy. Everything they do is based on research and accurate data. They pivot when the data changes and they communicate the “why” with excellence. This makes for excellent customer service. I have never worked with a better team of people. Every company band organization is going to have an issue arise. Nucleus also goes above and beyond to resolve any issues we’ve had. And believe me, they have been minor and minimal. Finally, the product. There is nothing quite like Nucleus and no digital church company more generous. While they make a product and run a business, it is kingdom first, always.
Cons:
The cost can be a bit of a stretch for us as a church of 60 people but their generosity and scholarship have made it possible. Getting in in their early pricing has also made the goal more accessible.
Amazing church software created by church people for church people
Comments: I have loved Nucleus from the very start and my love for it continues to grow as well. The Nucleus team offers very quick support and is always very helpful. They also make products that are very easy for volunteers to use and do not require a steep learning curve.
Pros:
I personally value the theology and philosophy that Nucleus incorporates into their products. They have concrete reasons why they develop certain features and give church leaders the ability the tools to do carry out their responsibilities simply and effectively.
Cons:
Since Nucleus is so simple and effective for church purposes, it would be amazing if they were able to incorporate other aspects of Church Management Software.

Great Investment
Comments: Customer service has been great, informative, and empathetic. The patience and professionalism with troubleshooting along with a great personality makes it welcoming to provide any question big, small, difficult, or easy.
Pros:
Perfect for providing the features a church needs for a successful web site and presence.
Cons:
Some of the template options seem limited but I’ve seen growth in the platform as it matures from its infancy. The platform keeps improving over the years making the investment worth it every day.
A Website for the Future
Pros:
Nucleus is simple to use, clean, and focused. It helps us clearly communicate our mission and vision to those who are seeking. Designed for mobile platforms, it easily adjusts to every size window, looking great on every device. Thanks to its sleek design and easy functionality, we got rid our app. Between the removal of the app and the former website host, Nucleus saves us nearly $150 monthly!
Cons:
As a newer product, it still has some limitations in customization. These are things I'm confident they are actively improving.
Nucleus 2 Review
Pros:
I absolutely love using Nucleus! It's such a game-changer. It brings so many benefits that make our lives easier and help us connect better with our congregation. One of the best things is how it simplifies stuff like organizing next steps with Flows. And can do so even with no coding or technical skills. The interface is user-friendly, and the customizable sections is making our website look amazing. Plus, we can send targeted emails to specific groups with Messages, keeping everyone in the loop. Also Nucleus Giving makes collecting donations a breeze.
Cons:
Though it has a lot of their features it's not exactly a full-blown Church Management System (CMS). This con is not really their fault but there are so many features that can set up expectations that is is a full CMS. It's like a supercharged version that has many CMS-like capabilities, but it may not have all the deep options a CMS has but Nucleus still comes pretty close to being a comprehensive CMS and offers a powerful toolkit to boost church operations and engagement.
Nucleus is the best Church Website platform!
Comments: One of the best experience with Nucleus has been the ability to create a form for people to respond & sign up for events, etc. We also like that it allowed us to create a one-stop site for people to connect with us and us with them.
Pros:
I like the way the end product looks: we have a functional website that is easy for people to navigate and find out the information they are looking for. The card-based design results in a very user-friendly and device-adaptable format. It is adaptable to almost any situation that we need to either post information or to gather responses. Nucleus is easy to learn to use, and the customer support is fantastic. They are always right there to help us solve a technical issue. We are charter 'members', and have loved it from Day 1.
Cons:
I don't like that I can't use the Sermon Engine (Library) locations as the link to a Sermon Page/Card - I have to store the audio file off site, copy/paste that URL, etc. Since Sermon Engine is a direct upload of the audio file, why can't it be the source on a Sermon Card. When I post the weekly sermon, it involves creating 3 different web pages: the storage website, the Nucleus Sermon Card, and the Nucleus Sermon Engine. Watching for better integration in the future.

Great Product
Pros:
Nucleus is by far my favorite web service for my church. We have tried clover, faith life, square space, Wix, and others [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and his team have done an incredible job! They also have free social posts every month, lots of b-role for sermon videos (free), and a really really good sermon hosting page! Plus they are not done. They keep rolling out features!! The back end of the website is super simple and easy to navigate. You would be wise to go with them for sure.
Cons:
No cons we did not experience anything we did not like
Simple is best!
Comments: Fantastic! Excellent customer support with great response times!
Pros:
This platform has reduced all the technical and complications that you can come across on other web platforms like this. It is easy to create a website that everyone will love! And you don't need previous web design experience!
Cons:
If there were anything that I could change it would be the following: 1) multiple logins and different permission levels available for different members of the team, 2) schedule event cards to be archived so that I wouldn't have to go and manually do so every time an event is over, 3) An easy way for event organizers to track signups at a glance without having to login. These things are minor and if I know the Nucleus team, they are already working on improving their platform in many different ways!
A Step Up in Church Websites
Comments: We love Nucleus - our church website has never looked better - it's designed with churches in mind whereas other similar platforms we've used are not.
Pros:
It just works. And it just looks good. yes there is plenty to tinker with - but bottom line is input your content (and do so easily with their suggested pages etc) and boom. You've got a great-looking, functional, mobile-first website
Cons:
Jumping between draft pages and your live website isn't always easy to figure out which one you're in.
Game Changer!
Comments: Since getting on board with Nucleus, our web presence has improved and we have the best information available for guests and members.
Pros:
What I love about this software is that it has been developed by people who want to provide a clear and simple way for those who are a part of my congregation to take next steps. It's very easy to use and our guests always talk about how easy it is to find what they are looking for on our website. We are so thankful for the ProChurch Tools team!
Cons:
There really isn't anything that I like least about it. The team is intuned with how to make improvements each update is amazing.
Nucleus for a small church website
Comments: The customer support is second to none! [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and his team are always helping people through issues that may arise!
Pros:
The ease of use! [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and his team have created a product that helps take all of the guess work out of building a church website that is functional but also visually appealing.
Cons:
Compared to other options, the price is a little higher. Also, because they do take a lot of the guess work out of the design process, your hands are tied on some customizations unless you are familiar with a little bit of coding.
Nucleus Is The Best
Comments: Nucleus has been a great product for us thus far, however we are going to be adding a traditional website as our front-facing page and switching Nuclues to our “insider” portal.
Pros:
It literally took me 14hrs to implement. Start to finish. We made the switch from a bulky Wordpress site last year and the process was nearly painless. Planning Center integration is amazing as well.
Cons:
As a feature of the simplicity, it is difficult to fully customize each aspect of your site. Not super friendly for those unfamiliar with CSS coding.
Nucleus is a Game Changer
Comments: Nucleus has improved the look and feel of our site, and has drastically improved the ease of use for the end user..which has translated to more people interacting with the site and engaging in meaningful ways.
Pros:
Nucleus has been phenomenal. Our site functions incredibly and looks fantastic. It has improved our user experience and increased our engagement tremendously. Also, the team behind Nucleus has been wonderful to work with, and is super responsive when I have questions or encounter challenges. Game changer! Do it!
Cons:
I wish there was more to do with the people management side of the product, however, it seems Nucleus is constantly innovating, so...not sure if this will always be the case.
Nucleus.Church is a NO BRAINER
Comments: I am saving SO much time in administering our site. On top of that, our people are connecting and able to maneuver the site and find the forms they are looking for very easily. Also, their HELP section is FILLED with articles that are easy to read and apply regarding troubleshooting. If that doesn't work, their customer service is always there to resolve anything.
Pros:
Our Church, Tabernacle of God Church, has been only using Nucleus as our website building since week one of 2020 and I am so upset that we didn't jump on earlier. It is SO easy to set up and it's impossible to mess up. It's looks amazing and works so smooth. Our web engagement and our sign ups for first time guests, events, classes, and programs has DRASTICALLY increased! I've used other Church web builders and Word Press, and neither of them can compare. On top of that, the Sermon Engine, Media Clips and the Social Media Program that comes with Nucleus is just not fare. Nucleus is like the 90's NBA Dream Team dominating competitors!
Cons:
It was hard to sell our Church leaders on Nucleus because the company seems "new". Besides that, Nucleus has exceeded my expectations.
Nucleus
Comments: A committed volunteer can set-up and maintain a website.
Pros:
Ease of use, anyone with average computer skills can set-up and maintain a website with a giving platform, sermon audio, video, podcast, and notes. Plus you will receive daily social media posts that can be shared with on your social media sites.
Cons:
There are less expensive alternatives but after a year of reviewing, trying, and comparing Nucleus to other website builders. We chose Nucleus.
Fantastic Website Builder for Churches
Comments: Their team is fantastic, and they know what makes a church tick. The website builder allows you to craft a website that looks great and serves both members and newcomers well.
Pros:
Easy to learn and train new volunteers on.
Cons:
Nucleus 2 Web is still under development, so there are a lot of features missing still - but it's certainly at a place where you could run a production live site successfully.

Comments: Website traffic
Pros:
Easier to use than Wordpress and to update the website
Cons:
That I didn't find it sooner and that it had made my life a mess
