About Tungsten Power PDF
Power PDF Advanced lets you create, convert, edit, share and secure PDF files. Buy it once and own it forever.
The price is a huge deal maker, but the tool itself is very similar to Adobe PDF.
Text editing and overlay within existing documents was a little difficult at times to match with documents made in Adobe or Microsoft Word.

All the features of the other PDF editors at a much better price.
Comments: Great, it speeds up production and improves our productivity.
Pros:
Overall a great product. Easy to use and great support.
Cons:
The text editor. It needs to be more flexible and the text box needs to be smaller. Preferably expand as the user types instead of starting out across the whole page.
Kofax cheaper alternative to Adobe Acrobat
Comments: The experience is good, but I miss Adobe Acrobat Pro
Pros:
No annual subscriptions! No annual subscriptions! No annual subscriptions! I started with this software (version 3) because it came free with my Epson scanner Then I upgraded to the version 5. It does the job.
Cons:
It is not the same as Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat is easier in several vital functions (like merging documents). Also, Kofax is slow to load when viewing only a document.

Thanks for your review. Glad you're saving $$$ and happy with version 5 of Power PDF! Try the page assembly feature to merge documents, many have found it simple to use.
Not a great fit for everyday user
Pros:
All in one power packed PDF maker/editor. Like the stamping and redaction features.
Cons:
With more features come complexity and learning curve but the least likely thing is the bulkiness of the product in usage. In general, its slow and tardy.

It effortless converts documents to every conceivable format. It's a great program.

Individual licensees do not get periodic program software fixes and service packs.

An Essential Tool for anyone in business
Comments: I have used Power PDF for more than 10 years and have found it to be a completely essential part of my daily work. I have it on my computer at work and also at home and I could not live without it.
Pros:
The versatility of this product exceeds anything else available today.
Cons:
I would like to be able to add pictures or other objects more easily. However, this IS possible and hasn't kept me from using Power PDF in this way.
Excellent Non-Cloud Product!
Comments: A fantastic alternative to Adobe. Even better if you don't want to move to the cloud.
Pros:
I like that it is NOT cloud based. I prefer to use it on my own computer and network.
Cons:
There are some tune-ups that are needed like the highlighting feature. But, overall, excellent!
Alternatives Considered:
Decent for the price but there are better options
Pros:
Kofax accomplishes what it sets out to do. It is very functional with a lot of features.
Cons:
The interface is generally clunky, complicated, and lags. While it has tons of functionality, there is a sense that the entire application could use quite a bit more polishing. Everything works, but could be easier. It works for my users and is cheaper than the name brand, but my users beg me to go back to the name brand because of these issues. I also hate the licensing. When you buy, you only get the version available at that time with no promise of even security updates. You better save the installation package because you likely won't be able to download it again.
Why I use Kofax Power PDF
Comments: This product allows me to edit and modify PDFs which are the end product of my business. Without this I would be forced to use a MUCH more expensive competitor, or a second rate product.
Pros:
The ability to edit PDFs, resort pages, and extract, remove, and append documents and PDFs to an original PDZF
Cons:
Some of the user interface items such as sizing, rotating, and other tool bar items in a major competitor are easier to use.
Alternatives Considered:
More bang for your buck.
Comments: We needed a fast reliable PDF program that could do then just view documents and this was the clear winner.
Pros:
Power PDF is easy to use and full featured. I am not a fan of having to pay subscriptions for everything, so this is fantastic one-time purchase. You don't need a cloud account it just works.
Cons:
There are some occasional issues with PDF forms generated from other PDF programs, but they are fairly easy to work around.
Best for my small business
Comments: As I outlined above in "Pros", Power PDF was the solution to outputting the forms and reports I needed to provide to my customers.
Pros:
I have been using this PDF software since before it was purchased by Kofax. I needed affordable PDF software for the creation and completion of forms used for inspections and for the conversion of reports created in other software to PDF format. Final reports, in PDF format, are then electronically sent to clients. The ability to "flatten" these forms and reports to preclude modification is an important feature.
Cons:
Power PDF provides the solutions required for my business. The switch several years ago to the ribbon toolbar was a small learning curve but an improvement in the long run.

A Really Good Product
Pros:
Ease of use and feature rich. Price point is excellent when compared to Adobe Acrobat. We also tried Soda PDF Desktop 14 which was not as powerful.
Cons:
Editing function difficult to use. There are instances where a fillable form needs editing and Koufax has trouble.
Great Product, Very Useful!
Comments: I do a lot of billings every month and most of my documents are PDF, without Kofax Power PDF, it would take me 5 times longer to generate the billings and all the lien releases that are associated with them.
Pros:
I have been using a PDF Converter for 20+ years and have introduced many people to the programs. Power PDF saves so much time with being able to type or edit in a PDF, I use it several times a day. The money saved by being able to work in a PDF rather than hand writing everything is amazing.
Cons:
I don't have any cons except I would set up the toolbars differently and make that part more user friendly.
Cheaper than Adobe Acrobat
Pros:
It has almost all the features like Adobe Acrobat Pro
Cons:
The text recognition can still be worked on

Hi there, Thank you so much for your review of Power PDF! - Gordon, Product Marketing

Why Kofax is a valuable PDF choice
Comments: It is a valuable software in my arsenal that is mostly easy to use and effective.
Pros:
The conversion is very integrated and seemingly automatic
Cons:
Text Editing can be somewhat difficult, identifying which menu that appears to be change at times
Ease of Use but needs tweaking
Pros:
It has everything you need, and more, compared to other PDF Editor/Reader softwares
Cons:
Does not translate Adobe edited files on a 1-1 match base.
Great product, would recommend to anyone!
Pros:
The ease behind this program has been very beneficial. I don't find myself struggling to get what I need to done or Googling for help.
Cons:
The only part I faced that was challenging was switching from a different program - that said, once I got the hang of Kofax, I was good to go from there.
I've been using Power PDF for years
Pros:
Power PDF allows me to create and edit pdf documents at a cost much lower than Adobe's pdf product.
Cons:
Resulting pdf document file sizes seem to be larger than other pdf create applications.
Powerful at an affordable price
Comments: It's just so much easier & faster to edit pdf files
Pros:
It's just so simple to Edit Text in a flash!
Cons:
Really, I honestly can't think of any Cons
Great PDF tool
Pros:
The conversion features are so useful, creating Word/Excel and fillable forms.
Cons:
Converting documents into Excel is probably very tricky. Sometimes the results are not optimal, but even then useable.
Killer PDF Tool
Pros:
Kofax Power PDF is simple and easy to use
Cons:
Probably the cost is the thing I like least.
Amazing Product & Design
Pros:
In our law office, there is a lot of scanning and merging of files. Kofax makes it extremely easy to make Word docs into pdfs. It is super easy to print off the application and use the merge feature makes everything extremely easy!
Cons:
I think the searchable feature could use an update since it's not 100% all the time
Great Product
Comments: Good product, will continue to use.
Pros:
Ease of use on features, easy to find the items I need to use.
Cons:
Sometimes it freezes while combining or trying to print large documents.
Great product!
Pros:
The feature I use more often is the "Form Filler" so I can create editable documents to send to clients. I also appreciate the ability to add a digital signature.
Cons:
There honestly isn't anything I dislike about the product. I may need to explore more features, but at this point I'm very pleased.
Not sure its better than Adobe?
Pros:
Rearranging pages is easy. Signing functions work?
Cons:
Changing defaults is not easy (LET ME CHANGE THE DEFAULT ZOOM PLEASE), finding certain things on the ribbon tabs is not intuitive. Needs API/SDK support.Measuring function needs to be able to snap to angles.Watermark functions could be better. I'd like to see watermarks that only when printed, or that show the date printed.
A powerful PDF editor with no subscription fees
Comments: Very easy to use without monthly payments
Pros:
Permanent licensingEasy to useGood for annotations and drawing over the document
Cons:
Some errors while printing large documents
