Product is Good - Support is Great

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I need to create both personal and professional projects and the software has met all my requirements in terms of effects and producing the finished product.

Pros:

AVS Video editor offers many features found in more expensive software. It is intuitive and easy to use. In fact, I spent about an hour teaching my teenage daughter the ins and outs of the software. She understood it and was quickly able to adopt the platform and create her first product. When I had issues with the latest version now playing nice with the latest version of Windows, the support was amazing for a product I purchased one time...years ago. I like there whole suite of products.

Cons:

Despite having adequate memory and processor speed on my computer(s) (I have had the editor software on a few different computers over the years), it Editor software seems to require extra compute resources. Not just during the expected "Produce" process, but when layering aspects of your project. This is where patience come in and the reminder that this software is doing amazing things not (easily or affordably) possible by the consumer a dozen years ago. I also wish some of the default font templets were more basic. While everything is customizable, it takes extra time to take a "fancy" template and simplify it for my "basic" needs.

Must Experienced Video Editor

5.0 last month New

Comments: It really does a game changer for Video Editing since some of my video editor don't have those features, those what I like somehow give an advantage to me as a tutor because I always record myself in the camera and edit the video and present it to my students, or give the video to my student so that when they forget something they can rewatch my video anytime. I don't need to use any software that makes my PC lag because of too many tabs. it is very convenient to use, and all are easy to used.

Pros:

The built in Screen Record and Capture Video using camera is a whole new another level of video editor, it is very convenient, I don't need to download any software does screen record or capture my video all are in AVS Video Editor. After I screen record or capture my video through my camera I can easily access the file and easily edit the video and makes the job more easy.

Cons:

A thumbnail picture appears beside the media file name when a new media file is added to the media library. The thumbnail often depicts a frame from the media file itself. Sometimes, I've seen, an image from a previously utilized media file is shown in its place.

Unlimited license extremely limited

3.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: It works just ok. There are far better editors available these days for around the same price point.

Pros:

Most features I required in a single bundle for a reasonable price. At the time of purchase, and truly unlimited license as available.

Cons:

I purchased and "Unlimited" license for this software. Since then, their license has changed and now expires the moment you have to replace your computer or motherboard. They will not allow you to transfer your license to your new computer. They do offer you a "discount" to buy another license but, in my case, their discounted price was greater than what I paid for the original "unlimited" license. I refused.

The simplest video editing software I've ever used.

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: It's easy, It's free and extremely powerful software for video editing.

Pros:

AVS has an extremely simple user interface, making it easy for anyone with no editing experience to use the software. This software does not require any advanced PC specifications to get started and works well in practically any setting. This has all of the fundamental features for editing videos and adding animation clips to it. They provide a variety of preloaded animations and objects that we can drag into the video and use right away.

Cons:

In their free version, they place a large watermark in the center of the video, which is something I didn't like about their software. They should have placed the watermark in the video's corner, or at least at a spot where it has the least impact.

Best Value- Buy It!

5.0 last year

Comments: Limited variety of fonts and sometimes it locks up while rendering videos. Frequent saves can prevent loss of hours of work. It's important not to have multiple applications running in the background when producing your final video..
Other than that it works great..
Expanding the font library and controls would be major.

Pros:

It comes as a suite of applications that work together seamlessly for remarkable results! I've been a user for years! Great Value. You could spend more buy why would you?

Cons:

Sometimes it crashes while rendering videos although there have been improvements.

My review about the software

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, I am very pleased with AVS. I purchased a lifetime version of it and I have been using it on a weekly basis. I had an issue with the serial number that got resolved really quick - a nod to the customer service. It is very easy to create videos with nice effects, the software is not CPU or memory consuming and is ideal for beginner editors as well as for advanced users. It would be really nice to have multicam syncing for B-rolls, support for Linux and the possibility to export a file in 60fps.

Pros:

I really like how easy it is to use the software. It is great, if you would like to edit some footages, use on screen video comments with chroma key, make some slide shows and so on. It is really versatile and has a lot of options when it comes to transitions and other effects such as filters and color correction. I have been editing videos with AVS for the past 5 years or so and I never really encountered a problem. It really has all the functions and tools you need to have and it is very easy to use. Also, it is very CPU and memory-friendly, so one doesn´t have to have a high and PC to use it.

Cons:

My biggest issue with AVS is that it doesn´t allow to edit in B-rolls, I mean multicam footages. There is a workaround, but AVS doesn´t sync videos together. The software gives one the possibility to use multiple audio tracks, but it is not possible to add another main video, just a secondary one. I would really love to be able to have multicam video footage syncing, because I make music videos as well, whereas I use multiple angles. Other than that, I am a satisfied user.

I am satisfied, but with a little flaw...

4.0 last year

Comments: It is quite satisfactory and I will continue to use it in carrying out one of my work in editing videos in the hospital.

Pros:

The video editing software is quite user friendly. I used the video editing software from the previous versions for quite a while and was quite satisfied, even recommending it to some of my friends. But that doesn't mean there are no flaws. I still have discomfort in some ways as well.

Cons:

The shortcomings that I experienced and this means a lot if there is an improvement in the following version. The downside is that I can't choose multiple video scenes at once to filter the sound and color. This is quite a waste of time if you have to adjust it one by one, even though everything will be given the same setting. So, I really hope that there will be an update that can accommodate my proposal. thanks.

Easiest video editor I've found

4.0 12 months ago

Comments: I have used AVS Video Editor for at least ten years now on several different PC platforms. I keep coming back to it since I have yet to find another video editor that offers all the options that AVS Video Editor offers. I've tried more expensive programs, but they don't give me options to burn DVDs or to choose the video output format and some aren't able to read the video file types I use. I would give the AVS Video Editor a 9 out of 10 rating. There are some minor things that could be upgraded but it is still superior to many other editors out there.

Pros:

I like the fact that the timeline is easy to understand and use. Other editors do not seem to have a set zero point to start which can make it difficult to know how to insert clips. I like having every clip on one line unless I'm using an overlay. Every element is easy to edit.

Cons:

I've found a few things that I would like to see upgraded. 1) Scrolling titles are hard to get timed to the video clip. 2) When creating DVD's the Title only has one color option for the text which cannot be changed. 3) All videos created are limited to 720p as output even though 1280p and 4K video clips can be edited. As yet I haven't seen blue ray burning as an option. But that's not important since I don't have a blue ray disc burner.

Best-Easy to use Video Editing Product

5.0 11 months ago

Comments: I have enjoyed being able to make my recorded product better than it was recorded using such options as transitions and video effects. These are great additions to any video.

Pros:

I like being able to make quick edits (5-10 minutes) or being able to be as precise with edits as my patience will allow.

Cons:

The Audio editing feature is my least desirable part of the Video Editor. Some improvement could happen here when making changes in volume and noise reduction. Equalizer could be a bit more variable and not so abrupt. Knowing what my limitations are, I try to get the best audio settings when making the initial video recording.

Easy to use. It works!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: I use it to advertise my business with logo videos. Wish I could upload one of my videos now. Plus personal use for for family videos.
Its been a great experience.

Pros:

I like that it's easy to use, it has guides and tips to help you, I do believe it has web videos you can watch to learn, I like you can add your own music or voice. The different transitions are neat and useful as well as the video effects, you can capture video from your screen. It works. I bought the AVS4You unlimited, it came with 11 multimedia tools, lifetime!

Cons:

every once in awhile it will freeze up, but that could be my computer to.

Videos for Starters

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I'm reaching out to our 143,000 Texas members with live-action videos!

Pros:

AVS4YOU software is still revealing itself to me. Every time I come up with a problem or a way of doing things that I haven't done before, I find that the software has already anticipated it and has a way to find it. At first, i was extremely cautious about making videos, but I soon found out that one has only to remember that there are both a left and a right click on the mouse to discover what one needs. After six months, I'm still learning what I can do and what works, but I never have to wait on AVS4YOU.

Cons:

When I am reviewing before publishing, I often lose video. I can still tell where I am because the audio continues.

One stop shop for inexpensive video capture and editing

5.0 12 months ago

Comments: An absolutely fantastic piece of software which is priced well, and which allows the user to produce professional-looking and results which can then be shared on multiple medium, physically and online.

Pros:

It was a combination of the price and the features that made me selected product. I look to the online reviews and decided to take the plunge. Never looked back since and I've realised I struggled for years without it. The only thing you must be in mind is that once installed on a piece of hardware you cannot move the software to another device without paying for another licence. Not the end of the world with something that should be considered. In terms of the options available they are fast and the speed of conversion is is absolutely acceptable. I am using a high powered machine and a find that only on a single occasion has it crashed and meant I need to redo do the editing again. There are lots of online videos to show you some tips and tricks however the interface is very straightforward and intuitive and I was able to figure most things out for myself.

Cons:

The only single con I can think of is the inability to transfer to another piece of hardware incase a hard drive was to crash. However the price point of this piece of software it's hardly the end of the world and I am more than happy to pay again for its functionality and ease of use.

Very intuitive software

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: AVS Video Editor has allowed our business to create instructional videos of our software using the screen capture feature. Has made things easier.

Pros:

Even for an inexperienced user, the UI is very intuitive and simple to use. It was the first video editing software I had used, after trying a few trial versions of video editing softwares. AVS was so easy to use that I bought for the company after using the trial version.

Cons:

This is probably due to hardware limitations of my pc, but sometimes when adding text the program becomes unresponsive. My computer is not built for video editing so I believe this is the reason for this. Saving the project frequently will help with this issue if you don't have a good graphics card. But even when using the progress in a computer without a graphics card, this issue happens very infrequently.

A handy video editor with all the required bells and whistles

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: One will enjoy using AVS video editor as it is easy to learn, one can open up the software and can start editing videos right away. Plus it provides various fantastic features to spice up your video editing and thus helps in creating amazing videos. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a All in One video editor for daily purposes.

Pros:

AVS video editor has a very straight forward interface and that is very important when it comes to overall experience of using a software. AVS provides you with all the functionality one expect from a decent video editor, like support for almost all the major media formats, crop and flip tools, title editor, transition and effects, basic audio editing features, a good range of export options, all these make AVS a great tool for anyone who, after capturing a video, wants to go a step further and add some extra sauce to their videos.

Cons:

Well, I don't see any reason why one cannot cut a film in a software which can edit and cut videos together, but to be very specific, some softwares are designed specifically for cutting motion pictures, AVS video editor is not one of them. Apart from that, AVS video editor is an excellent option for editing videos.

FANTASTIC

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Excellent

Pros:

I love all the programs I use the registry cleaner weekly and the video converter almost daily You can not get a better deal for just the registry cleaner alone the audio and video converter programs are easy to work and are as good if not better than any other photo shop program. People do not understand you need a special program to make a DVD that works in a DVD/Bluray player. The Disc Creator is easy to use and does a great job.

Cons:

Nothing it's great I tell others to use it

Wonderful, Powerful, Cost-Effective

5.0 last year

Comments: I have used AVS since shortly after it was released. I have purchased licenses for every computer I've used it on because it's just a handy tool to have!

Pros:

I love the diverse options to build simple videos coupled with the robust features to build complex projects.

Cons:

The video manipulation tools are a little lacking. Such as, clear and easy speed controls. Frame creation and blurring when a video is slowed down. Also, the editing timeline is a little finicky when making cuts and shifts. You have to lock all other tracks you aren't manipulating or the cuts/edits will happen across all tracks.
