About Userlytics
Quickly gather ux feedback & insights from your target persona(s) on any digital asset (yours or competitor) on tablet, mobile, desktop
Great features, ability to bring your own testers, easy to use interface.
When we used this platform for a client, the platform required testers to download a screen recorder. While this is common in the user testing industry, I still don't like it.

User friendly and efficient
Comments: I really enjoy Userlytics. Aside from the user-friendly and efficient platform, the customer service team is 10 stars out of 5. They are always willing to help me set anything up in such a timely manner - and so nice!!
Pros:
The software's interface makes setting up the test, reading and reporting out a breeze. Simple functionality makes something like a robust test just a little bit easier.
Cons:
The transcription that is based off of audio is left to be desired and often not able to be used. As a result, we do spend extra time translating ourselves for each panel result.
Alternatives Considered:
A more reasonable alternative to the biggest players.
Comments: Our rep has been helpful and attentive, and the tool meets the UI and feature requirements of all its competitors for a really reasonable price tag.
Pros:
There are a lot more UX testing tools and platforms out there these days than the days of Usertesting and UserZoom being the only players. But many of them offer only a couple types of tests, or force you into a type of workflow. We chose Userlytics because it most closely resembles the "big boys" in terms of feature set (in fact, I get more types of quant tests than I did with UserZoom) for a much smaller price tag. I also like that tasks can go un-recorded for participants' privacy. This was a near-essential feature for getting the tool approved.
Cons:
We're still pretty new on the platform, but I haven't had a lot to complain about. Sentiment analysis is not activated by default and I'm afraid it might be extra so I haven't pursued it.
userlytics on of the user softawre that i didn't like to much
Comments: it was a bad experience for sure
Pros:
well ther is not much i did like nut i like the website menu
Cons:
i did like least that doesn't work for the residence out of the USA
So great to have consistent point of contact
Comments: A+ - It's a versatile, full-featured platform backed up by courteous, responsive human support.
Pros:
In a time when most vendors change their reps on you every six months or so, it's been terrific to work with the same professional, responsive, low-pressure individual since Day One.
Cons:
We don't have any problems to speak of other than many of our colleagues are already familiar with UserTesting so there's been a little bit of a learning curve.
Alternatives Considered:
Userlytics is a robust and inexpensive testing platform
Comments: Userlytics is a robust and inexpensive testing platform that meets our needs as a software company.
Pros:
Creating a study with Userlytics is easy; the interface walks you through each step of the process. Some highlights include the templates that are available for common usability questions and the in-browser testing option for participants.
Cons:
We use our own participants for testing and some have difficulty navigating the testing platform when reviewing prototypes.
10 Out of 10, absolutely love it
Comments: Userlytics has been a true game-changer for our testing initiatives. With exceptional customer support, a comprehensive feature set, and top-notch participant quality, they have earned our highest recommendation. We give them a perfect 10 out of 10 and urge anyone in need of a testing platform to give them a try.
Pros:
We transformed our approach in testing. They providing outstanding customer support, their team is always ready to assist with a level of professionalism and efficiency that is second to none. We used usability testing, prototype evaluation. Platform is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy for even novices to navigate and utilize effectively. One of the most impressive aspects of Userlytics is extensive pool of participants ensures that we receive diverse and insightful feedback, enabling us to make informed decisions.
Cons:
We absolutely love it. For our company no cons.
Great International Usability Testing Tool
Pros:
I have been doing online user testing for over eight years and have used many different UX tools in that time. Userlytics has been my user testing tool of choice for several years now. Their site is easy to use and inexpensive compared to other similar caliber user testing tools. It is effortless to set up a test, and they are very responsive to any requests or questions I have as I create my tests. It's also nice they have a card sort feature now. Few tools provide that. Userlytics has been able to help me test and find native speakers who also speak English in every country I have needed including South Africa, Japan, China, and Korea. They have made sure I have gotten quality testers which in turn has provided quality research. Their pricing, ease of use, customer service, and quality of testers/panels can't be beat.
Cons:
Initially, I didn't like the pink and blue color scheme they used, but it has been updated. I wish there was an autosave on annotations/video clips. Sometimes I forget to click save.
Userlytics
Comments: Positive, they have very attentive customer support.
Pros:
Quality testing pools to be found in all 50 states and international. The transparency to have the user shared their video camera while they share their screen. Video scrubbing by task and annotation are very helpful.
Cons:
It is a bit of a manual process to randomize larger, quantitative tests. Would love to see Userlytics automate this features in the future.
Userlytics Review
Comments: The business works well once you are able to do a test, you do get paid, but the app itself is not that great when it comes to the full functions. Some of the functions that are important works well, but the other functions on the app I wish were fixed that I mentioned.
Pros:
I used the app on the Iphone 8 plus, and also I like that there is even an app available on the phone. The app icon looks professional and the beginning login layout looks good. The functionality of the app works well on most parts.
Cons:
When I attempt to login the app on my phone, it does not allow it to remember my username and password and then it will not login automatically. I have to re-enter it, but am able to get into the app afterwards. When I check the test invitations, completed tests, and missed invites, it does not appear, though I have done plenty of them in the past. The payment screen does work, but the contact screen does not show up when you click on it from the menu options.
Great tool and great people!
Pros:
Simple and user friendly platform. Learning curve is not steep and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and team are always accessible and ready to help! Really like the visual charts of responses, which I'm able to copy and paste in my presentation, great quality of video/audio recordings, and the overall layout of the platform. Biggest differentiator is the level of support from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and team. They're super knowledgeable, kind, patient, and always willing to help! They are true partners and go above and beyond to ensure your study is successful.
Cons:
There are some limitations, but most are on their roadmap to be added or [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is able to get it programmed in the backend. 1. For screener portion of the survey, unable to add open response questions. But [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]was able to get this programmed in the backend. 2. For screener portion of the survey, unable create multi-select question. But [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was able to get this programmed in the backend. 2. Unable to break participants into different age groups in one study. So I had to create 3 different surveys to be able to specify how many participants I want from each age group. However, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was able to merge all 3 surveys into one when they were complete. 3. No word cloud or aggregate word usage system from transcript 4. No option to create a metric questionnaire
Powerful Tool & With Great Account Management and UX Consulting Support
Comments: Userlytics has allowed us to more efficiently and effectively incorporate research and testing into our processes. If you have everything you need to begin (goals / objectives, tasks, recruiting criteria, test script), you can initiate testing almost instantaneously. The tool is generally pretty easy to use. Being able to use the tool for recruiting purposes is a major win, whereas in the past I've had to rely on recruiting firms (or a more manual recruiting process) and separate testing and data collection tools. Nothing like having everything in one place. Scheduling and workload doesn't always afford us the opportunity to facilitate testing from end-to-end. So having a partner like Userlytics to assist with facilitating testing--when timing and other project priorities doesn't permit--is a major help.
Pros:
Userlytics is a powerful research and testing tool. I love that you can do so many different types of research and testing including questionnaires, card sorting, tree testing, and formal usability testing. When setting up your test scripts, the guided text / examples are perfect if you don't want to create your questions from scratch (or if you simply need a little more guidance to get started). The updates made to the AI Transcription feature have made it a godsend when it comes to efficiently reviewing videos and analyzing test data. I'd like to add that the account executive and UX consultant team(s) are great to work with. They are timely with correspondence, provide excellent customer service, go the extra mile, and deliver solid work.
Cons:
A little more flexibility with the card sorting feature. We were trying to set up a card sorting scenario for a recent test a certain way and weren't able to. We had to create a workaround. We still got the results we were looking for. But a little more flexibility would be a great help. Also having a feature that would allow you to show multiple visuals to the user and allow them to select which option is most effective would be another great addition.
Alternatives Considered:
Best option for tight budgets
Comments: We have a small, growing research practice, and Userlytics has been the best fit for us in terms of features for the budget. We use the research panel a lot, and haven't had any issues with filling our quotas with testers that match our screeners. The tool takes a little bit of learning to understand all the options, but that is true of any testing software. In general, we've had better feedback quality with moderated tests over unmoderated tests, sometimes the moderated testers aren't very engaged or don't think out loud as they're supposed to, but I think this is an industry issue, not an issue with the platform.
Pros:
The various test options have suited all of our needs, and the custom screeners have allowed us to target specific user groups easily for our different clients. Our customer service contacts are always quick to respond if we run into any issues or have any questions.
Cons:
The card sorting interface needs work, it was hard to use for us as the researchers, and difficult for testers to use. We've encountered some bugs but the customer service team is quick to respond.
Comprehensive and Easy to Use
Comments: We are about to test how usable our new and existing products are. A major benefit is the time we save by using unmoderated testing for quick checks and tests. Not having to worry about the scheduling logistics is a time-saver.
Pros:
Building usability tests in Userlytics is simple and straightforward. The builder walks you through each step, so you don't have to worry about forgetting anything. The templated questions make it very easy to build your usability test. The results dashboard is also very comprehensive, with the ability to create highlight reels, tag, bookmark, download, share, rate, transcribe, etc. Everything we're looking for.
Cons:
We have a target audience that is more challenging and expensive to reach using the existing Userlytics panel. Getting relevant results without using custom recruitment (additional expense) was not a viable option for our company. However, we would probably have to use custom recruiting regardless of the usability testing software we chose.
User testing platform with a great user experience for testers and testing participants.
Comments:
Successfully utilised the platform for a number of user testing, and customer research initiatives.
Great support from our point of contact [SENSITIVE CONTENT].
Only downside is that we find the pricing structures and minimum spends required slightly more convoluted than other alternatives, and the fact that unused credits expire if not used in the window of time is off putting. More flexible options would be helpful.
Pros:
The level of customisation of user tests, specifically the ability to link out to multiple prototypes is unique to this platform, and not done well elsewhere. It is also very intuitive and uncomplicated to set up a test, launch it and view the results. The ability to curate, annotate and create highlight reels from video clips is a highly useful, easy to use and timesaving feature.
Cons:
In the past, we found that integrations with other participant sourcing platforms not that successful, but we have not tried that recently. I personally have experienced no problems with the studies that I have run.
Almost All the Features at a Great Price
Comments: Extremely satisfied. It can't get better than this.
Pros:
Userlytics has all or almost all the features that other expensive, long-time established competitors offer and is more affordable and has dedicated customer support. It's a winner tool and, by using it, we've identified UX problems and found ways to test new solutions. The tool itself works well and is extremely easy to use, the testers are reliable, the tests are done within 2 days, your customer feedback is listened to... Honestly, GREAT.
Cons:
Allowing to have more than one project owner would help, but I know for a fact this is being developed.
Our UX Team is very happy with the tools and participants that Userlytics provides
Comments: Unmoderated user tests save a lot of time and provide quick quality feedback. Moderated user tests allow us access to Userlytics' international participants pool. The tool itself is easy to use.
Pros:
We mainly run it for unmoderated or moderated user tests. The availability to high quality participants was great, even for profiles that are difficult to find. Userlytics' customer service deserves the highest rating.
Cons:
The beta version of the Live Conversation has been functional with minor usability issues. I would love to see some future improvements (e.g. Note taking field, transcription feature, screen sharing possibility for moderators) that would make the Live Conversation an extremely powerful tool.
Userlytics Response
Thanks for your review and for the feature feedback, Myvienne! Happy to say that with feedback like yours we are working on a screen sharing feature for moderators, are just about to come out with our note taking feature for moderated sessions, and have a transcription feature for unmoderated and moderated studies. Thanks!
Userlytics is great for cost effective user testing
Comments: User testing with userlytics.com has been easy and straightforward. I can train our freelance analysts on it quickly too.
Pros:
Userlytics is easy to set-up and get started with. It's cheaper and has been just as effective for our test purposes as usertesting.com.
Cons:
This tool will work best if you know how to write user testing tasks and questions before you start using it -- the software won't teach you the best practices, it just gives you a clean framework to implement them. I wish that, like usertesting.com, this tool provided some basic demographic information about the random users when random user testing (range of income bracket, age and gender) so we didn't have to add questions and take up time getting that information from the users.
Userlytics is a great tool for UX optimization
Comments: The Userlytics team has been more of a partner than a supplier. They proactively reach out to see how they can assist us in our projects; we know we can count on them for quick answers to our questions about best practices. Very responsive team!
Pros:
Our ability to get user feedback overnight is invaluable to our Agile iterating work model - it allows us to keep the work moving and deliver value to our members as quickly as possible. The customer support we receive is also top-notch!
Cons:
Some extra personalization options for the loading screens of the user testing experience would be nice but certainly not needed for getting the most from our user testing with Userlytics.
Great platform to run user testing sessions
Comments: I usually get test results within an hour or two after I launch the tests and they have a diverse user panel., which helps me to move into the analysis quickly. Also, when I have questions or issues, the support team responds promptly and help me out. Everyone I worked with at Userlytics (the support, ops and the business teams). The pricing structure is straightforward and very reasonable! I like the fact you can purchase credits as needed.
Pros:
The steps for creating screeners and test scenarios are very easy and self explanatory. I love the fact that there is a capability for moderated testing (haven't tried yet).
Cons:
Wish I could have multi-select questions more easily. (I have to ask ops team to help). Also, I usually like to run a test once, see if I need to make adjustment, and then re-launch the same tests with more people. There are some workarounds and it could mess up metrics, but I wish this can be done more easily.
A
Comments: The support from the Userlytics team is great, always on hand to answer any questions and ensure the project runs smoothly. They take your feedback onboard as will actively promote ideas onto the teams roadmap if it helps improve the product overall.
Pros:
Userlytics is a fantastic tool to conduct remote moderated / unmoderated research either on desktop or mobile. Their global panel and quality of participants is impressive and I have never had the same participant twice. I use the transcription and annotation feature when watching videos back and appreciate the new features of card sorting and tree testing which was lacking to be competitive with Usertesting.com and UserZoom.
Cons:
Heat-maps and click rates would be very useful to incorporate, along with data on how many participants fail certain parts of the screener to identify where the drop off rates are.
Easy to use tool but needs some refining
Pros:
The design setting up the test is really easy to use and it breaks it up in stages well.My Account Manager is great and comes back to me quickly if I have queries.
Cons:
- It can take a bit of time for the videos to come back and I have often had to nudge my Account Manager to boost the test and get the results back quicker.- Sometimes I'll require 10 testers to do the same test but I might need 5 to be on desktop and 5 on mobile. I can't split this within the same test and I need to duplicate the test and set up another test. This makes it quite long winded, it would be better if I could set these requirements within the same test set up.
Convenient and flexible product with the ability to do testing on a per-need basis
Pros:
The fact that userlytics lets the user test as frequently (or infrequently) as they need is a huge benefit, and the main reason our team switched from usertesting to them. The other remote test websites wanted to lock us in to a contract where we would have to do tons of tests to get our moneys worth, but our needs differ from month to month and sometimes tests aren't needed. Userlytics lets us pay on a per-test basis which gives us the flexibility and independence our team needed!
Cons:
In order to take video clips you do need to upgrade your account to a more expensive plan, but it's not the end of the world as you're still able to download the entire video.
A Very Simple Userlytics Review
Comments: Overall Userlytics is a great software for reviewing software and websites to make some extra money.
Pros:
Userlytics is a great software for website testing. It has gave me a lot of tests and all of them payed exactly what was promised. This is a software that I recommend to everyone.
Cons:
Although I made a lot of tests, I would like the invitations to stay longer in my email so that I had more time to answer the questions in order to get the tests. However, overall I sitll get a lot of tests, and it is a great software.
Alternatives Considered:
Good, but not great
Comments: Customer service was INCREDIBLE! [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was our account manager, and he would reply to any of the emails I sent him within 5 minutes. That in itself was incredibly valuable as a newbie to the program. The software itself could use a little more development in terms of features and functionality, but overall it's a good program that gets the job done.
Pros:
I could easily organize and set up separate tests, and the tagging was very intuitive and helpful. Also customer service was so fast and helpful that I was quickly able to learn the program and use it effectively.
Cons:
The dictation was pretty much useless it was so bad, and the analytics on the demographics of the users could definitely be organized better.
Excellent User Testing Platform
Comments: The overall experience with Userlytics has been great. The platform is easy to use, has fast candidate responses, and excellent customer service. I'd recommend this platform to anyone interested in user testing.
Pros:
Userlytics has been a very effective platform for our user research team. The platform offers a lot of different testing methods that are all easy to set up. We have also experienced excellent customer service from the Userlytics team.
Cons:
I wish that panel credits were shared with all users within the company. You can move them over to different accounts within the company, but it would be nice to just have a total of credits per company that anyone can use.
