They give back to a community a lot

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

Locize is made by the creators of i18next, the best i18n JavaScript library out there. All the toolkit Locize provides is open source and mostly well-documented. Also, their business model is very fair - instead of charging based on user number, they charge on usage.

Cons:

The UI design of Locize panel as well as the in-place editor feels a little clunky, maybe old-fashioned. A slight refresh would be a good idea.

Good and reliable service for translation management

5.0 7 months ago

Comments: Overall well. Support is good, owners responsive to requests and feedback by email support.

Pros:

I like that interoperates well with i18next React library. That's how I got to try it out. Learning on the way while using the service. Appreciated the nice API integration. Has more features than needed, nice that one can disable not used features.

Cons:

Has a bit of a learning curve to set it up and start using initially. But after 1/2 day of learning the docs and watching some Youtube tutorial videos I managed to set it up successfully.

Rude support and complicated UI

1.0 5 years ago

Comments: A partner which use rude way of communicating? No thank you!

Pros:

You can do translations, multiple versions, API, didn't notice any bigger issues with the core features

Cons:

Confusing UI in areas related to cancelling the subscription, for some reasons I was able to delete my account but subscription fee was still collected. After contact with the support, they explained me with exclamation marks that it's 100% my fault and they will not do the refund.

inweso Response

As we also explained Krzysztof there is no connection between a user in a project and the billing. His project had 3 admin users so removing his own user did not cancel the service (beside that removing the last admin user would not be allowed by the application). There is an explicit button on the billing page to cancel the subscription or like always sending us an email would have been enough. We decided to not refund the $5.30 as there was no fault on our side.

All depend on your needs and money

4.0 11 months ago

Pros:

The tenant feature. It is an excellent option for B2B companies with many clients or for companies that operate different brands in different locales. With the tenant feature, you don't need to upload translations per brand, region, or company. It is set in a way so that you need to upload differences only. Preview of changes. Double-checking never gets old:)Namespaces. They allow you to group your keys by feature or page on a website. The price. It's really affordable and the billing depends on your usage.

Cons:

Performance. The more keys and words are in the project, the longer they are saved. Backup. It's totally useless. Please, make it user-friendly so I can download all keys and texts in one file. Not per namespace and language.Lack of automation. Thank you for improving these options, but it's still not enough. Please add more options for copying languages (per space), or add a possibility to set rules for automated uploading as your competitors have. The history feature needs improvement.Documentation and customer support service could be more professional. You will receive some basic information but sometimes it's not enough.

Thank you for your detailed review. We appreciate your positive remarks about our tenant feature, pricing, and namespaces. We're sorry to hear about your concerns. We're actively working on improving performance on very big projects like yours, backup functionality, and automation options. Your input is crucial for our ongoing enhancements. Please note that we recently added the copy language functionality, and we'll continue to improve it. We apologize for any shortcomings in documentation and customer support. We're committed to providing better resources and service. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to enhance our platform. Thank you for choosing us for your localization needs.

It's a good way to add i18n support for rapidly evolving software/services

4.0 11 months ago

Pros:

User managementMachine translationSearch and edit

Cons:

Very least amount of backend development support with languages like Python and frameworks like Django. We had to roll out our own custom CI job to play well with Locize.

Thank you for your feedback Sagar. Regarding backend development: locize was born out of i18next which works on client and server side in JavaScript environments. But locize offers all locize functionalities also via CLI or API. Here some information about server side i18n: https://locize.com/blog/how-does-server-side-internationalization-look-like/ CLI: https://github.com/locize/locize-cli API: https://docs.locize.com/integration/api

Simply awesome TMS

5.0 11 months ago

Comments: I've been using Locize for a while now, and I couldn't be happier with its localization services. The platform is user-friendly, efficient, and has greatly streamlined our translation workflow. The real-time collaboration features have been a game-changer for our team. Locize's support is also top-notch – they are always responsive and ready to assist. Overall, Locize has made managing localization a breeze, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a robust localization solution.

Pros:

Locize has the best experience especially when used in combination with i18next.And their customer support is the best I've experienced so far, fast, efficient and professional.

Cons:

It would be even better if Locize would offer a way to manage bigger text documents or general assets to be managed in the sane way, API, versioning, etc.

Currently the best on the market

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Best localization service out there!

Pros:

+ pluralization + continuous localization + no need to download the words, usage via API + CDN's all over the world (even china) + super fast support In two previous projects, I used "locize" as the localization and translation service. I helped big time to improve the time to market, especially when working in an agile environment. Translators can start working even before the code is pushed to a pre-production environment and therefore everything is translated already when we are ready to go live. Your process becomes truly continuous. We haven't been agile for years when it came to multi language applications - thanks to locize, we are now!

Cons:

- documentation could be a bit more intuitive

A great TMS and localization management tool

5.0 11 months ago

Pros:

The user experience is excellent. Quick and efficient support. Pay-per-use. The integration to the next js web application was simple.

Cons:

I initially thought this kind of service can be free, but after using it for a while, I realized how much time and resources it saves, both of which must be considered, and how much less expensive it is than alternatives.

Love Locize

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I used locize in conjunction with react-i18next to translate a healthcare application to spanish. The process was smooth and relatively painless. Locize provided excellent support every time I ran into a problem.

Pros:

The ease of set up and all the choices of libraries to make it work with any stack.

Cons:

It's pretty good but the documentation could use a little work.

great set of features, but usability should be improved

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

the easy and flexible API the out of the box support for formats like vue-i18n the existence of an in-context-editor markup in the translation get's recognized and locize makes sure it's not forgotten in the translation

Cons:

the UX (the UI is not very clean and clear and needs a bit "getting used to it") the pricing model seems to be good, but it's a bit hard to grasp what you're actually going to pay

Locize allowed us to be more productive

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

1. Hosting the i18n on their server: Solved the problem of building an architecture for it and maintaining it 2. Interactive Editor directly on our website: Helps non-IT people to be active and proactive on translating & correcting translations

Cons:

The UI is kind of poor right now and doesn't reflect the quality of the product

Not Easy to Use & Doesn't update correctly

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: I dread having to use it.

Pros:

I like that there is a program like this.

Cons:

It always shows that I am only 59%, 75%, 91% etc completed when I a 100% completed. It is VERY difficult to navigate and find the items actually needed.
