About Pimberly PIM
Product information management designed to increase the efficiency, control and quality of your product information handling.
While it is not the cheapest on the market, the functionality available is very competitive for the price point, and even ahead of some providers who charge more.
4 years later, I am disappointed to say that they fell way short of that sold vision and roadmap, with development dates continually extended until they then finally removed deployment/live dates.

Incredible Solution
Comments: Pimberly has increased our speed with updating and managing product data significantly. Their systems response is immediate, as if I'm typing directly into Shopify itself. Their automations and data validations have helped us take processes from hours to minutes, and my teams ability to easily and readily see and change every value for a product internally in the PIM as well as in Shopify has been a huge game changer.
Pros:
Pimberly is the solution my company has been looking for for over 5 years. It has fast tracked our ability to maintain product data, and its automations have reduced repetitive tasks from hours to minutes. The team is super responsive with any issues and putting in requests for features.
Cons:
Pimberly is still developing important features, connections, and mappings that other services already offer. It is an incredible solution and I look forward to seeing the team continue to build on what it has started.
Fantastic PIM system offering flexibility, value for money and excellent support
Comments: The experience with Pimberly has been fantastic, from pre-sales to onboarding to launch. Each person who has represented the company has been polite, attentive, and informed. We have been regularly updated on new releases and their team have reached out many times to invite us to socials also. Aside from great software, they're a bunch of great people.
Pros:
The system's flexibility. Almost anything is possible with its out-of-the-box automation features given as standard. The onboarding team was really informative, allowing us to transform our data and save man-hours to reduce monotonous tasks to workflows.
Cons:
Some elements of the system are still a work in progress but having visibility of their product roadmap really helps to ensure that we're kept in the loop on the upcoming work. More "out-of-the-box" connectors for the larger sales channels would be desirable to allow for the user to interact with a GUI and receive logs on statuses per connector. If you have in-house developers this is certainly not an issue.
Alternatives Considered: Akeneo Product Cloud and DataProcessor TJ
Reasons for Choosing Pimberly PIM: We wanted to move to a company who also valued us, especially as we had limited development experience in house.
Switched From: Akeneo PIM Connector for Shopify and Akeneo Product Cloud
Reasons for Switching to Pimberly PIM: The price of Pimberly was a compelling offering compared with the others, Pimberly also offered a better onboarding support package. We were

Comments: Pimberly presented themselves as having a stellar PIM and being very well experienced with our online store platform, BigCommerce. None of that was true. We endured roughly two years of near constant bumbling - movement forward was just baby steps, yet we were told breakthroughs were imminent for us to begin fully populating our products into Pimberly and deploying new products to our main website. Some test deployments went well, feeding partial data to the store system, but when they ran a test updating shipping field info Pimberly ended up sending a DELETE command to BigCommerce which wiped all our product categories and their related content (SEO settings, copy, etc.). While initially our primary Pimberly rep was apologetic that this happened, Pimberly management stepped in to then allege the fault was likely with BigCommerce and Pimberly should have no blame. This even though we had never pressured them to hurry their work with the shipping field changes and their staff having full, direct control of how the test was handled. BigCommerce provided a log which clearly showed Pimberly had sent a DELETE command targeting the entirety of our catalog tree in one go, something a smartly designed system simply should not be capable of. After that Pimberly largely refused to communicate with us. No help was offered or provided for getting our website data back to normal.
Pros:
It was clear that development work was continuing, adding new features like AI text generation. New UI was an improvement on the old one, but just incrementally so.
Cons:
Our onboarding, which we were told and anticipated to take just a few weeks, stretched to nearly 2 years before being ultimately scrapped, the Pimberly team leaving us high and dry after causing a disaster yet insisting on keeping the majority of our money. Bug fixes and upcoming features we hoped to make use of were *always* delayed by months. Repeatedly we were told that they were working on linking with other popular technology integrations we use, but for example after a year and a half of onboarding I was informed they had only the last week purchased a license for the most critical integration to do that work and testing.
Pimb Review from an Image Editor at Evo Group
Comments: Overall, I think it has been a good experience.
Pros:
As I primarily use the DAM, I really love that with the naming convention and the Bulk Uploader tool, I can just load all the images and PDF's I need too and it will auto assign to the correct product with little problem. It makes it very convenient for me and means I can spend more time editing images or working on something else. And it means the products can go live quicker.
Cons:
There's nothing I would say I fully dislike. However I think some changes could help. 1 being I think the multi search function in the products section could benefit with me being able to search more than just Primary ID. It would save me having to convert everything before I search, for example if I just had OEM. I also think Pimb Indigo is just a bit slower than the original Pimb e.g. an image has been uploaded for a product but it displays no image there, I have to reload a few times for it to appear. I also believe a function to download assets attached to a product/s within Pimb would be really good. I currently use Python to download images through channels in Pimb, that does the job, but I think cutting that step and allowing me to do it in Pimb would just make it a more streamlined process all round.
Pimberly Software Review
Comments: Working with the team at Pimberly has been pain free. Although our implementation took longer than expected, the team have been on hand every step of the way, supporting us when and where we needed it most.
Pros:
Pimberly is really easy to set up and you begin to reap the benefits of a centralised PIM almost immediately. While it is not the cheapest on the market, the functionality available is very competitive for the price point, and even ahead of some providers who charge more. Feeds and Channels are simple to set up and accommodate multiple file types. We use XML, API, Webhook and CSV, and can alter the configurations in the UI for most requirements.
Cons:
We would love the ability to sort products in the Products UI
Alternatives Considered: Catsy
Reasons for Switching to Pimberly PIM: We were able to see the workflow builder in greater detail, and this was something important to us. In addition, Pimberly had experience integrating with our Commerce Platform.

Thank you very much for your review Matt! We appreciate your feedback.
Pimberly has been a game-changer for our organisation.
Pros:
Our organisation has experienced significant improvements in data management since adopting Pimberly, and it has transformed our operations considerably. One of the standout benefits of Pimberly is how it has expedited our ability to get product information out to customers. With Pimberly, this process has become significantly faster and more reliable, enhancing our responsiveness and customer satisfaction. Pimberly has completely revolutionised our data management processes. The platform offers a level of automation that we never had before, streamlining our operations and reducing the manual effort required. The automated workflows features ensure that our product information is accurate and consistent across all channels. Updating product information in Pimberly is straightforward and efficient. The user-friendly interface allows our team to make changes quickly without needing extensive technical knowledge. Pimberly’s flexibility in integrating with external systems has been another significant advantage. Whether it's our websites or ERP systems, Pimberly ensures seamless data flow. This integration capability has simplified our IT landscape and reduced the complexity of maintaining multiple data sources. Workflow management is another area where Pimberly excels. The system’s workflow capabilities allow us to define, monitor, and optimise our processes effectively. This has led to more efficient operations, as numerous tasks are now automatically assigned. The support provided by Pimberly has been exceptional. From the initial setup through to ongoing use, their support team has been responsive and helpful. They have promptly addressed any issues we’ve encountered and provided guidance on best practices, ensuring that we get the most out of the system.
Cons:
While the system generally performs well with individual tasks, its efficiency diminishes when processing large bulk updates. Despite a few bugs which can be expected with an in-depth system as Pimberly, one of the redeeming aspects is its support team. Whenever issues arise, the support team is known for their quick and effective response. They are diligent in addressing and resolving problems.
Great for Business As Usual
Comments: We used PIMberly as a service on the side of our product data previously (to provide API data to our customers) however a couple of years ago we put it at the heart of our data and it is performing well; automating many of the logic based manual processes that people shouldn't have to do. Once up and running the Support Team are fantastic and will rapidly deal with any queries we may have and all stakeholders within the business have access to clean data to generate reports, populate brochures or pass to our customers to populate their websites with our whole product range.
Pros:
Once up and running, the PIM is very robust and happily plods away in the background automating many processes and populating data based upon criteria thus removing the need for manual intervention in most cases. It also has a great channel creator, allowing you to create customised outputs in many formats from APIs to CSVs.
Cons:
The parent record cannot be updated based upon fields within the child record without SQL (and vice versa) however this is something PIMberly are working on currently.

Thank you very much for your review Bryn! We appreciate your feedback.
Pimberly makes PIM easy
Comments: PIM has helped us create a clear shared working area for our team and helps keep product information consistent between our multiple platforms. We couldn't be happier with the support we have been given from the very start plus it feels both easier to use and more practical for our needs as time goes on.
Pros:
Ease of use and adaptability, convenient searching and display tools go above and beyond. If something isn't already apparent, it is findable in the extensive knowledgebase-when further explanation is required, the support team are fantastic and reliable, always providing solutions.
Cons:
We'd have liked a mass-change feature for amending the taxonomy, i.e. assigning attributes to product types within the taxonomy en masse. There have been a number of new attributes created which needed to be wired up on the taxonomy for all nodes, however this a minor inconvenience in the 'schema' of things.

Hi Adam Thanks for leaving us a review - We really appreciate it! Best, The Pimberly Team
PIM with the best value for money without any doubt
Comments: My experience with Pimberly is very good. From day one everything has been easy and their support team is one of the best I've seen.
Pros:
What I like most about Pimberly is the ease of integration with other systems. Its interface to create APIs and map attributes is absolutely great.
Cons:
There is really nothing I don't like about Pimberly, and the features that I think could be improved are already being improved periodically.
The insite of pim
Comments: I am extremely happy with the use and availability within pimberly.
Pros:
I like the functionality of the system and the usage it allows you to do, the role of applying data sets and channels to ease workflow within the business.
Cons:
The challenges i usually face within pimberly relate to the updating of code within a group but coalited to different points of data.
Horrible software, even worse support
Comments: Our experience was horrible and I don't wish this upon any other ecommerce owner. I highly recommend you stay far away from PIMberly. Seems good during the demo, but full of bugs and horrible support.
Pros:
Honestly nothing - our entire experience with PIMberly was a nightmare. From being lied to during onboarding, to "onboarding" taking over a year, when they finally tested the last feature, the PIMberly team wiped out all our category data and had no idea. They never helped fix anything or offered any support.
Cons:
- There is little to no documentation- They advertise as a self-serve tool, but many things require them to implement- They are always on vacation and unresponsive- Leadership team and management are rude and unresponsive- PIMberly is full of bugs- Very prone to deleting your data
Alternatives Considered: MJ Platform
Reasons for Switching to Pimberly PIM: The demo seemed great, but the software never worked and was full of issues.
A customer for 4 years and biterly disapointed at the lack of developments that was 'sold' to us as.
Pros:
Strong workflow tools
Cons:
Where do I start, After extensive research of PIM’s we choose Pimberly not because it was the best on the market at the time, but because of their vision, roadmap and that we would be supporting a British company. 4 years later, I am disappointed to say that they fell way short of that sold vision and roadmap, with development dates continually extended until they then finally removed deployment/live dates. Features that were eventually deployed fell way short of what was 'sold'. The last straw was the 'quarterly' account review our account manager created a list of action points of their own accord, 6+ months later once again nothing actioned. They time and time again set themselves up to fail, this is not just seen at account manager level, it has been witnessed by us at Director level - it starts at the top.Despite their marketing slogan "The most powerful Product Information platform on the planet", the system runs INCREDIBLY slow and having spoken to other Pimberly customers we are very much not isolated to us or alone on this. If you can accept Pimberly for what it is and all its shortfalls (of which it has many!), then I am sure you will find Pimberly an acceptable PIM, But I would suggest too be wary on their promises/dates of future changes and features, as like us I fear you will be bitterly disappointed. After revisiting and reevaluating other PIM's we have seen how much others moved/developed, leaving Pimberly way behind.
Pimberly is Extensive, Just not for Our Niche Market
Pros:
We enjoyed the visibility and organization it provided having all of our products in one place. The tools we could utilize were nice as well.
Cons:
Being in a Niche market in which our products are refurbished and don't require a complete market rollout, there were aspects of Pimberly that sounded great, but didn't make sense to utilize. Because of this as well, a lot of the heavy lifting had to be done on our end to make the workflows useable. There was also a miscommunication regarding a linear connection between Pimberly and the venues that we believed existed when we signed up and that wasn't the case (at the time).
The Best SaaS Platform
Comments: For us it's having all our data and images in one place and that it is correct. Also getting products to market fast is another really good feature that Pim gives us.
Pros:
All the features in Pim that I use on a daily basis really help me. The ease of getting data in and out of Pim is really fast once you master the feeds and channels. If I need to add or enrich any products manually and add images it only takes minutes to do. We sell on lots of different platforms and can get all the product data ready for release in no time at all.
Cons:
There are always improvements that can be made i.e. Duplicate channels.
Almost perfect
Comments:
As I use Pimberly all day in my role I have grown use to the issues/glitches with the speed/bulk data.
I understand how to use the system well enough to get my tasks completed efficiently.
Pros:
Easy to understand the user interface Design and layout help to avoid confusion unlike other systems Moldable to suit the business
Cons:
Pimberly struggles to cope with large numbers of data being imported/exported. Sometimes lags
Fantastic software that has supported our growth over the past 5 years
Comments: First class.
Pros:
Fantastic software that has revolutionised how we manage our product data and integrate with multiple sales channels. First class support and account management. Highly recommended.
Cons:
Better management of deltas exported on a channel.
Efficient Automations for Data Enrichment
Pros:
I felt very supported throughout the entire implementation process, both for our initial launch as well as our launch of the product data sheet module. The delivery team is highly skilled, incredibly knowledgeable, and very responsive. They took the time to fully understand our use cases and brought creative solutions to the table.
Cons:
I find that some processes within the interface are rather manual, such as enabling new attributes in the taxonomy or creating complex decision tables. I believe there is opportunity here for automation within the user experience itself, not just for product data enrichment/cleanup.
PIM for Data
Pros:
As a data editor I am always using PIM to import/export data so this feature is what I like the most in PIM. I can import/export the fields of data that I require to see and analyze.
Cons:
When there are a lot of users in PIM at once it can be slow in importing or exporting data.
Helps us expand our product ranges and make amendments
Comments: The team have been really lovely and friendly throughout the whole process. They're really engaged with their customers and wants to involve them in their development process and marketing campaigns. There's lots of opportunities to be involved and work with them.
Pros:
We've expanded our product range hugely over the last 6 months which a lot more growth planned. Pimberly has made the process of adding new products across multiple selling channels quicker and more efficient. We could be adding hundreds (even thousands) of SKUs at one time across lots of marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Wayfair, Mano Mano, OnBuy) plus our own website. This drastically reduces the work of creating multiple different import sheets. It also makes it easier to make amendments to a product. If we change the dimensions of a dining chair then that meant thousands of bundles need individually updating too. Now we can just edit the original product in Pimberly and the others can be easily updated to match.
Cons:
From a marketing perspective I use this for getting product descriptions and features added and optimising our listings. I've not come across anything not to like in this area.
Pimberly User Review
Comments: It's been a good experience overall and I think it is a good system
Pros:
Its easy to use and self explanatory for my team to use. We use this daily to update products within our systems.
Cons:
Sometimes it can be slow for imports and exports
Pimberly PIM
Comments: Faster product creation/addition, so rapid expansion of catalog. It empowered our team to overhaul our existing catalog quickly and to a much higher standard. Oh and the tech support is great.
Pros:
The extremely flexible tool set allows users to customise their own solution - without the need to spec dev work
Cons:
There are some limitations and points where the tools don't match our needs out of the box, but no solution can ever be 100% for every customer
Pimberly Review
Pros:
Clear and user friendly interface. Ability to personalise views. Automisation of reports.
Cons:
On rare occasions it can run a little slow or you have to execute tasks more than once in order to push through.
Comprehensive, flexible PIM Solution with a very long shelf life due to constant evolution.
Comments: The pre-sales, scoping and deployment were all incredibly well supported. The on hand experts of the product were always extremely forthcoming with how to find a practical method for each and every problem including how to build outputs not native to the PIM solution at that point in time.
Pros:
The flexibility of schemas and attribute mapping means that the solution caters for all and any product data needs. We have been able to adapt the solution to not just house and feed sales channels but also provide specifications for sourcing and manufacturing. This goes above and beyond what you typically expect from a PIM system to serve data to your customers.
Cons:
The schema construction had some limitations with the notion we needed more levels to product relationship to include our sourcing specifications. We have found sustainable routes around this but it does mean the process isn't perfect but I don't think we could have found a more suitable way to start a product journey than what we have with Pimberly.
Simple and easy to use
Comments: My experience with pimberly is positive.
Pros:
Pimberly is very easy to use with numerous features.
Cons:
Sometimes Pimberly can be a little bit slow.
The best PIM solution
Comments: We have a large and complex product catalogue - Pimberly has helped us double our product range in 5 months. We'd never have been able to do that without the platform.
Pros:
Implementation, integrations and support have been best in class. The speed and ease of deployment for such a complex piece of kit really blew me away. We've been able to make adjustments to the platform on the fly and the support team have been mega in helping us.
Cons:
Cost, it's expensive, but it's the best. So it's not really a con just a statement of fact. You pay a high price but the feature set and support fully justify it.
