Excellent HRIS for Canadian SMEs

Pros:

Their product itself works great. If we do have any issues, the Humi support team is incredibly quick and responsive, providing us with the answers that we need. I have zero hesitation recommending Humi to any HR team looking for an intuitive HRIS.

Cons:

The mobile app isnt the best. This is by no means a showstopper

Pros:

Humi is designed to have multiple HR tools all in one place and is easy to use. Real-time instant employee data makes any HR professional look like a pro.

Cons:

There is a lack of user configuration in the system is frustrating at times. It would be nice to at least have access to change wording

User friendly; poor reporting

Comments: Overall, the software is user-friendly and meets our basic needs. We moved payroll to another provider due to errors. Humi has been very focused on developing its scheduling platform and as a result, other improvements and suggestions for feature enhancements have been largely ignored. I am hopefully that they will continue to develop and make the software more efficient.

Pros:

Humi has made a number of improvements to its applicant tracking/recruiting systems and we are satisfied with this program. There could be further improvements to make it more efficient but overall, it works.

Cons:

The reporting tools have been very disappointing and not usable in most cases. A basic turnover report with analytics is very important to us and we do not currently have this ability.

Working Great For Our Small Company

Comments: My experience has been really great right from my thorough onboarding to continued support and the new features getting added all of the time. It is already a great product but I know they are constantly improving it and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Pros:

The ease of use and the amount of information that can be stored on one program. Instead of having 5 places to store information, it is now all under one program. Customer support is great as well!

Cons:

I guess the biggest downfall is some of the controls and limitations when it comes to wanting to delegate. Most tasks have to stay with an admin and right now with us being a small company that means it has to stay with me or we need to give someone else admin clearance and they can access all feedback and other confidential items.

Alternatives Considered: Folks HR and Collage HR

Reasons for Choosing Humi: We started doing performance reviews and surveys and we were looking for something that could keep all of this information in one place. We were also starting a new onboarding process so those features were great to have when setting it up. The fact that it is Canadian-based and in Canadain currency though was the major decider for budgeting purposes.

Switched From: Kin HR

Reasons for Switching to Humi: Humi offered us all of the features we were looking for plus some and we were able to get a great discount at the time. As mentioned, the Canadian currency was a great bonus as well.

Very useful, but still needs love with the translation

Comments: We likle humi - we still have a few complaints from the supervisors regarding the english and the performance that are long (every question needs an answer)

Pros:

Easy to understand and to use I love the fact that I can connect as someone else to show them where to go

Cons:

The translation from english to french The fact that the supervisors can't accept / deny vacations on the email The fact that the employee can't search in the documents (only the admin")

Reasons for Choosing Humi: Because Bamboo had a limit of 50 employees (well, our contract) and we were expending.

Great Canadian Company

Comments: I think Humi is great and I would recommend it to any Canadian HR professional

Pros:

Time off, document management and onboarding keeps everything in one place allows more time for HR to focus on other tasks and less time on administration

Cons:

I find there are some navigation issues sometimes. ie. time off taking you back to the main page when you just want to be in an employee's profile. Surveys also are not the best with the new data as you cannot see separate surveys anymore

Comments: Benefits from having an all in one place software.

Pros:

Humi is intuitive all in one software that allows customization tailored to your business needs. Provides a variety of key components such as time off requests by the employee, employee tracking, recruiting, uploading and signing documents for on-boarding along with various helpful tasks that can be assigned.

Cons:

Some of the settings required to adjustments and trial and error.

Easy-to-use All in One Human Resources Management on the Cloud

- Very good price/performance ratio- One of the best HR platform especially for Canadian companies- Great for small to medium-sized companies - Very quick and easy implementation- Easy to administer- Modern look and feel- Seamless User experience- Vacation tracking and Team calendars

- In some cases, the workflows needed resetting during the implementation- Vacation balance and tracking can be tricky to setup and maintain- Lacks security of more expensive/comprehensive solutions- Difficulty in formatting and setting up reports

HUMI has simplified our HR processes!

Pros:

We have used HUMI for over a year now and it has simplified many aspects of our HR processes. From onboarding to vacation management, it has streamlined more than we could have ever imagined!

Cons:

Our team members would like the ability to install HUMI on their phones and have full functionality.

Extremely disappointing

Comments: Zero

Pros:

Has fairly good basic HRIS functionality, easy to set up and use with a good price point. Company was very responsive during the sales process.

Cons:

Looking for efficiencies in our HR processes and had specific needs - we were promised that all needs could be met and that they would customize to do so. This was an outright lie - if your needs are on their 'roadmap' then all is good, but basic timesheet functionality (which we required) was not important enough for them to customize. Their "implementation" is free but basically non-existent - you do all the work (which we were ok with but others might not be). They responded quickly to our initial concerns and it went to Sr. Mgmt as soon as I called them out for lying in the sales process, but the response from their Co Founder was completely insincere in his promises to fix the situation and in fact, after waiting almost 6 weeks for him to follow up, he blamed me for not reminding him and actually said "Should you have sent me an email in the past two months, I would have been happy to live up to my promise in helping to align Humi with your needs" my response to him was a detailed list of all the times we had tried to get resolution in that time period. telling me "I'm extremely disappointed in our team for the experience you've had, as well as our response to your concerns...." and asking if he could have until the next day to resolve.

A+ for ease of use for small team payroll

Comments: We've been using Humi for over three years now and the one-click payroll processing has eliminated at least an hour of my time every payroll cycle.

Pros:

The automatic calculations of source deductions and remittances to the CRA on your behalf.

Cons:

I honestly don't have any things that come to mind. Anytime I had additional questions, the Humi team is very responsive and would help me find a solution.

Alternatives Considered: ADP HR Assist

Reasons for Switching to Humi: The other company didn't return my calls and Humi was responsive and locally based.

Humi is a game changer

Comments: very good

Pros:

The first thing you notice when you get onto Humi is how clean the design is. Wow Wow Wow. Usually my employees have trouble navigating softwares, but with Humi, my employees have become very independent. They just launched the Humi Go App which allows them to request Time-Off, and see their balances on their phone. No more email exchanges or paper forms for this gal! It was hard to find a Canadian company that did everything I needed until I found Humi. Whether it was just storing employee data, running payroll, or even administering benefits, they handled it all. Its nice to have one point of source for all your internal employee needs. There is so much in the system its hard to get into everything but some of the best features are; the document center (where you can upload, edit and send out documents for signature, customized to each employee), onboarding (digitally on-board new hires to the company where they can sign contracts, fill out personal details, and access their own employee platform), and time-off (easily set up leave types and track leave for all employees). Their integrated Payroll is the icing on the cake. It really reduced the errors we had from transferring our changes to our old clunky payroll system (ADP). The buying process was very quick and simple. We had a couple demos to showcase the platform and then we had the pricing conversation. Price is per employee and on a month to month basis and they didn't charge us for implementation which was superb.

Cons:

There were a couple things they do not have that would be helpful. We currently have a couple hourly employees, and they don't have a clock in/clock out system. However we use the additional fields section to track these.

Comments: My experience with Humi has been really good overall. Implementation was pretty straightforward and has helped keep us organized.

Pros:

Humi has helped us streamline our onboarding process and keeps all of our HR documents in one, easily accessible place.

Cons:

Sometimes the admin aspects can be difficult to configure. For example, setting up or editing a time off policy can sometimes be confusing.

Humi - good value for product

Comments: Positive experience after using the software for 1.5 years. Some early challenges in the first few months but after that very easy to use.

Pros:

Easy to use, employees like the interface.

Cons:

Some functionality on the payroll side is awkward and not easily adjustable without having to go through the Help Desk to do back end changes. The help desk is not easy to access all the time as you have to send an email and wait for them to respond. Humi does not directly submit T4's to CRA. Have to use ROE Web to access your ROE's.

Great platform for small and growing organizations

Pros:

Running payroll is easy, reporting at the end of the year is straightforward support team are typically fast and helpful. Great value for money!

Cons:

Would love to have payroll reports for specific employees. Some bugs here and there but the team is open to learning about them.

Still too much manual work required

Comments: It was OK for a short time, we had hopes that investments were being made into the product but nothing has changed over the last year and a half that adds enough value for us to continue using it. Will be switching to a new platform in the new year – probably bamboo.

Pros:

It has some good basic features and pricing was better than other options, unfortunately for a scaling business we need something more robust.

Cons:

The reporting dashboard and performance management are the weakest modules, we need to export information in order to pull any meaningful insights. Customer support also not a highlight.

Easy to use and good value

Pros:

Very easy to use software, customer service is fairly responsive. Drastically cheaper than some other solutions on the market.

Cons:

Software is difficult (if not impossible) to customize. Also there is no way to integrate Humi payroll with my expense management and accounting software which would be nice.

Easily track payroll information and vacations!

Comments: Humi has completely cut down the admin we used to do when tracking payroll or vacations.

Pros:

My current company is using Humi to track payroll and vacation information all in one place. It has replaced the need for spreadsheets and emails back and forth. One part that is great is that past employees can still login to update their address information - we used to have to chase people's updated information when tax season came along. Everything is self-managed for users which is the best part. It also helps to have an approval system when tracking vacations that can be approved by a direct manager. It will also tell employees how many vacation days they have left which used to be a frequent question in our organization.

Cons:

I was on customer support when no one was available so it asked me to schedule a meeting at a later time. When the meeting came around, no one was available.

Very Simple and Basic

Pros:

This software is very simple and basic. If your company doesn't not have an HRIS system, this would be a great starter software.

Cons:

Once a company gets larger and more complex, Humi will not be able to support the company in its current capacity. Still fairly new and many of their features are still in production.

Helpful to track and store all HR information!

Comments: It's been a great asset to our company to track and store all our HR files in the cloud rather than storing hard copies in the office.

Pros:

Storing all HR info in one secure place is very handy. It's also great that it allows employees to request days off and automatically tracks these against their alloted time off.

Cons:

The documents are clunky and it's hard to personalize them to each employee. I wish more customization was possible so that you could have one form that could be filled out by each employee.

Overall it is okay...

Comments: I would describe it as a 7/10 experience. Not great for the size of company we want to become.

Pros:

The funnel system for the ATS and the automatic onboarding functions were nice.

Cons:

The reporting was lacking. Needs more options and a better UI. Also, the turnover report makes no sense whatsoever.

serious lack of support

Comments: sadly lacking in support, which is the only lens I can see this company through at this time.

Pros:

ease of use.

Cons:

rakes a week or longer, to resolve most tickets, as no one live answers the phone...EVER! wait for days for return call or response to email. have asked what service standard is for turnaround time on open tickets...and...no surprise, still no response yet (24 hours ago). this is a new software company and program which has modules that their willing to sell you, but are actually still in Beta Testing stage (Recruitment module@ $100 p/month)
