Helps you land into prospect's inbox
Comments: Mailgun is a comprehensive email marketing service that provides businesses with the tools they need to create effective email campaigns and ensure deliverability. Its advanced features make it a popular choice for businesses of all sizes looking to improve their email marketing efforts.
Pros:
The DMARC record validation and domain verification process is so smooth and generous that it increases your chance of landing in your prospect's inbox by almost 100%.
Cons:
The pricing is higher than any other competitor products.

Developer friendly transactional email service
Comments: We are solving transactional email needs for a startup I work as a CTO, does a great job there despite pricing not being flexible enough.
Pros:
Mailgun is a service that was created by developers for developers. Their top-tier documentation and code is self-explanatory and should present no issues to integrate in just a few minutes. The service itself is reliable and has the latest bleeding edge features. Their customer support is very effective and can get issues solved promptly.
Cons:
Mailgun's pricing has only gotten pricier and pricier with time. They are not even able to provide discounts that are not in their scheme and it is up to you to simply accept that when there are many competitors on this market. The service itself is very robust but this inconvenient made me think about other options after some above-base level features were needed.
Alternatives Considered:
Worst email product and support ever used (RUN AWAY)
Pros:
sub-accounts management (before getting suspended for no reason)
Cons:
Mailgun disables your account after 6 months working on integrating with it ; out of nowhere, for no reason. + they keep billing you every month (over 600$ at this stage) even though your subscription mentions that you're at 0$/month. When you're trying to reach out to the support, they close our tickets without even answering, ghosting. Absolutely WORST product ever used and support team faced, it's absolutely garbage. This goes without saying that Mailgun way of coding emails is terrible, their delivrability is one of the worst of the market. Do yourself a favor, go to sendgrid. Mailgun SUCKS.

Incredible Deliverability, Clean Platform, Success with MailGun!
Comments: Super pleasant, great chat support, fast email support replies, always quick to help and communicate.
Pros:
Clean UXI for navigating the system, simple set up, clear dashboard to find issues quickly and navigate around the site. Ability to clean database lists to minimize bounce. However, the BEST part is they are free up to 10,000 emails a month, which is a ton! So to give the full custom power of connecting your domain and sending out, that's a huge value. I will get over that limit and upgrade soon, but that is an incredible way to start a relationship. Almost a year of free service to use their system versus my server.
Cons:
I actually have not found anything that I do not like. Many will complain about high bounce rates or going into spam. I find that issue arrises on multiple factors outside of mailgun control, such as the receiving server, and the mail habits of the person opening it, do they get a bunch of spammy mail already? And was the mail piece written in a poor nature, this increases spam folder direction, however, they do have dedicated IP service for those wanting to mitigate one area of cause for spam direction. Again, never been my experience.
Great e-mailing platform
Comments: It is helping our business with one of the core services we provide which is OTP verifications
Pros:
SImple and user friendly interface. Cheaper than most competitors
Cons:
You can not search the logs with the email content
Cheap and reliable emailing service
Comments: It helps our bisness with providing our core services.
Pros:
It is cheap and reliable. There is no downtime.
Cons:
If logs can be searchable by email content that would be great
Easy to use, very intuitive
Pros:
Used this to track email delivery and perform transactional emails. Works as advertised
Cons:
There is a learning curve to use this service
small and medium busniss best choice for email marketing campaings
Comments: it was a good experience during the free trial, i like about this platform it is very user-friendly and email management, but they should improve spam detection and use the power of AI in the platform
Pros:
best free plan in the marketeasy to use email verificationdomain verificationgood analytics
Cons:
spam detection should be improvedgive more analyticsinclude machine learning and AI
Powerful e-mail API
Pros:
Mailgun's API seamlessly integrates with our relationship management software, allowing us to automate communication, reduce workload, and increase impact.
Cons:
We use some of Mailgun's more basic features, and the pricing is a little bit steeper than what we'd like to pay. However, we have still benefitted from the service.
A solid service
Pros:
I like the way the dashboard is built, it's really easy to use. Easy to find e-mails.
Cons:
I always struggle to find the function of whitelisting an e-mail, but I always get there eventually.
One of the best available email API service
Comments: Good and the best among the tried ones yet
Pros:
Easy integration, and well-defined logs which helps always for better tracking when some issues arise
Cons:
The regular change in the interface and the toughness to find options with new ones
Decent tool, but needs some improvements and price reduction.
Pros:
I believe it is a reference among some companies and it was recommended to me, that's why I started using it. The free version is decent.
Cons:
Integration is a bit complicated compared to other solutions on the market. Even after configuring some emails were still considered as SPAM. Prices are absurdly high.
A Reliable Email Service Provider for Businesses
Pros:
One of the biggest pros of using Mailgun is its reliability. I have rarely experienced downtime, and the emails are always timely. It also offers an API that integrates seamlessly with different software applications. I can easily integrate Mailgun into my website, CRM, or marketing automation software to send transactional and marketing emails without any hassle.
Cons:
One of the cons of using Mailgun is its pricing model. The service charges based on the number of emails sent, which can be costly for businesses that send a high volume of emails. Another suggestion for Mailgun is to provide more comprehensive documentation for users who are not familiar with API integrations.
Mailgun Review
Comments: All of our company's websites utilize Mailgun for email marketing purposes. We've even implemented Mailgun for our customers and strongly suggest it. Email delivery problems have been solved thanks to Mailgun. There is no need for us to use the e-mail server provided by [our hosting server]. Email delivery was a major problem for some of our customers who were hosted with well-known shared hosting providers like GoDaddy, Bluehost, etc. One of Mailgun's best features is that messages can be monitored in real-time, and if they fail to send for any reason, the specific cause is shown in the log.
Pros:
Sending an email to someone takes no time at all, and you can even set up a queue for thousands of messages. If you need to contact a large group of people with one message, this is a great feature to have (e.g., newsletter subscribers, marketing emails to clients, etc.). With its help, your emails are more likely to reach their intended recipients and are less likely to end up in the spam or junk folders. The Mailgun reports and logs feature is excellent. If an email couldn't be delivered successfully, what are the exact reasons why? Sometimes, if we can determine the cause, we can work to fix the problem.
Cons:
The WordPress plugin for Mailgun could use some work. It needs to have more options made available to users. Our email volume isn't particularly large, but we'd still like to have a dedicated IP address for our outgoing mail. A dedicated IP's high price tag is unjustifiable. fixing the problems that have arisen with sending emails to Hotmail or Outlook.com. Deliveries are made, but the junk/spam folder is where most emails end up.
Mailgun is pretty good
Comments: Overall Mailgun is a great tool and I highly recommend it.
Pros:
I like how it literally has every piece of information that you need to make an educated decision about potential client accounts and wether they are fraudulent or not.
Cons:
It's kind of complicated to understand and get acquainted with at first.
Good Software for sending transaction emails
Pros:
good email deliverability for outgoing emails, ability to monitor email campaign performance
Cons:
pricing could be reduced for SMBs, strict restrictions on using the platform for email marketing purposes
Alternatives Considered:
Fast, Reliable and Affordable Email Provider
Comments: We use Mailgun for almost 80% of our email system, we stopped providing email directly from our servers due to DDOS and mailgun really helped us out!
Pros:
The best would be their free tier, they recently changed their free tier but you still get free 1k+ emails per month. This is thier "pay as you use" tier. Very usefull if you're still new as you get all the features of a paid service. Very cheap even when you exceed the free emails.
Cons:
I wish they have a lower tiered plan like $5 or $10 a month for low traffic sites. As a developer not all sites needs 10k emails a month.
The best SMTP provider I love most
Comments: Mailgun worked for me seamlessly, no challenge and I'm happy to use it, even will buy their Pro Plan in the future.
Pros:
I use Mailgun for my email marketing services and it works perfectly. Mailgun helped all my emails go straight to my prospectors' inbox instantly without any challenges. With 10.000 free emails/month is a super deal for small business. Besides, Mailgun is truly flexible for developers with Webhook Support, API support, SMTP user manager, Email Template Builder.
Cons:
I hope Mailgun support Email Template Builder with Drag&Drop function that easier for me to create email templates for my workflow.
Very user friendly and highly recommended
Comments: The process from the very start was very straightforward and allowed myself and fellow marketing and development team members to grasp the intricacies and entire tool set within the platform.
Pros:
The ability to connect to our internal platform to send transactional email and monitor activity are features that really stand out and directly address our needs in terms of email deliverability, activity tracking and technical solutions.
Cons:
The ability to migrate from the legacy to the newest version of the platform has not been the simplest process. While the workarounds have suited our needs just fine, it hasn't been the simplest process to migrate over from the legacy version.
Mailgun provides reliable email delivery and tracking software
Comments: We use Mailgun to send emails from multiple domains through our ERP system. Mailgun as given us noticeable improvement to our email metrics and tracking. I would recommend Mailgun to others.
Pros:
Our ERP system added integration with Mailgun several years ago and our ability to track and verify emails had been delivered significantly increased. We noticed an immediate increase in our email delivered confirmations. This is significant for us as we send our monthly account billing statements through email. If our emails aren't delivered, we don't get paid. Mailgun also provided much superior email tracking so we can identify which emails weren't delivered and find another way to get in contact with our customer.
Cons:
Our biggest limitation with Mailgun is with our ERP system and how they only chose to provided limited support to the many features Mailgun offers.
One of the best email marketing solutions price wise
Comments: We send email marketing to our user base through Mailgun, monitor results, and save money when compared to other solutions that are more manual..
Pros:
We use Mailgun to send to large email marketing lists because it's more affordable than many alternatives. The UX is pretty solid and the reporting tools are nice.
Cons:
Sometimes there are things in the report that don't make sense like an open rate dropping considerably one day and then back to normal. We can't really tell what caused that. Also the open rate is lower than other tools that are not marketing based. So perhaps they're tagged as marketing server. Not sure there's any way around that and they take email server health seriously
good for Transactional email and more
Pros:
Mailgun's system is set up so well, and their SDKs for different languages are so complete, that these days I add a domain, add a Ruby gem, and my new Rails project has transnational email ready to go, highly deliverable, and I just don't worry about it after that. It just works.
Excellent mail log makes tracking mail activity simple
Comments: We run software that includes both manually sent as well as automated email. Inevitably, users will either not receive or claim that they did not receive an email. This quickly helps alleviate those issues and show proof of delivery with timestamp.
Pros:
I don't have a ton to benchmark Mailgun against but it's made my job much easier when needing to track our outgoing email. At it's simplest, I can quickly search for failed email messages or confirm that email was sent and received along with the content of the email.
Cons:
There may be a way to filter or create saved filters that I'm not aware of, but I've been restricted to searching either by an email address or by an event type (ie Accepted, Delivered, Rejected, etc.) I do sometimes have to search for a bit to find what I'm looking for.
Alternatives Considered:
Mailgun is great, the
Comments:
They used to have a free tier (up to 10k emails a month) which provided a sample of all the features included in mailgun (like sending, receiving, authenticating, api etc.) now they got rid of that plan (even for customers who were "grandfathered in").
The new free plan isn't really free and they stripped out all the extra services.
It's tough that the entry price for any features is $35/month.
Pros:
- It is extremely easy to get setup using Mailgun (they make it very simple for the user). - They offer a lot of really useful features and well documented, powerful API.
Cons:
The opening price is pretty high for an account with any sort of features, which makes it tough to justify using their service for a small project. - The interface runs a bit slow and buggy at times (like viewing logs).
Easy to set up
Pros:
It's been easily customized for our applications. Bulk emails out to users with the ability to read responses. I've been happy with this product
Cons:
None. It has served us well for all our purposes
