The most functional and comprehensive reservations platform we've found on the market.

5.0 7 years ago

Pros:

High level of customer service. Respond to queries within minutes, not hours or days. Stellar dev team that seriously listens to the requests of clients, and builds product features based on their feedback.

Cons:

Known for their aggressive approach outside of US market, which can deter potential clients. Requires a lot of marketing commitment to negate negative perception.

Great Way to Create and Use Experiences

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

This is mostly a straighforward product to use and it is quite easy to train employees on the basics.

Cons:

When creating reports on guest count for a period of time, I have to go through every day of that time period to count up the walkins.

Misleading sales and all about pushing transaction fees

1.0 last month New

Comments: We signed up with Tock but will never put them into operation. We're trying to cancel at present due to their misrepresentation of capabilities and plans (e.g. Toast integration). Their functionality is also described as one thing, then ends up not working as shown or described after you are in and working on setup. They are also high-pressure about running paid events via their system so you pay the transaction fee when customers are charged. This is, in my view, the primary driver of Tock's business model. They have been acquired twice in short order by Squarespace and now American Express, but the play is really a payment processor play and not offering a value-added, affordable and well-supported service for small business owners who are cash conscouis.

Pros:

There's nothing special about Tock that other restaurant/bar POS systems don't already do well. I'm surprised it's lasted this long in a competitive market segment.

Cons:

The most disheartening part of Tock is dealing with the sales and implementation team. They are high-pressure and misleading. They misrepresent things such as integration capabilities and white-wash over issues. Their goal is to sign you up and then force you to upgrade when you realize what the sales person told you was not true/possible (e.g. integrations)/.

Amazing software for a small restaurant

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

We love using tock for bookings. We are a 42 seat restaurant and just make a few available for online booking only. I love being able to program a deposit. We literally never have no-shows. The wait-list function is also really great!

Cons:

Since we only use it for large party reservation and holiday events. It tough to find cons, but if I had to mention something I wish all admin could edit the public profile instead of having to reach out to tock hospitality. Super minor note, because their support is great!

Make the switch!

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: So far, so good. As mentioned above, we are still in the initial switch over phase, but have been very please so far.

Pros:

We recently switched from Open Table (customer for 13 years!) to Tock. Scary to change from the norm, but Tock is SO much more affordable and it seems to have much larger capabilities. Tock can take payment for our pre-paid wine dinners which is amazing that our service staff won't get bombarded with ticket sale calls during dinner service. It also have event planning capabilities that we are really excited about.

Cons:

So far, there have been no cons. We are just in the switching over phase and so far the staff has been professional, friendly and super easy to deal with. We get a great vibe so far!

This system didn't work for us or any other businesses we know that have tried to use it

1.0 4 years ago

Comments: I would not suggest this system. Spend a bit more and invest in one that works

Pros:

The general layout is similar to open table

Cons:

Not user-friendly, Issues with support answering irrelevant questions/ being unable to help with system issues, guests at first unable to order takeout and now unable to book a table at all, we don't show up on the Kelowna/ Okanagan search but restaurants as far away as England do, reservations made online when it was possible never made their way onto our system, we have been paying for it for the whole winter season and as of yet have still been unable to utilize it

Tock Reservation Software

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: It was definitely an adjustment from our previous software, but overall the change has become a lot smoother than once expected.

Pros:

Tock is very user friendly once you get accustomed to it. The amount of different menu options makes things a lot more organized and easy to access than other reservation software. It also has extra features such as the ability to purchase event tickets right along with a reservation that is super handy.

Cons:

Some features are a little bit convoluted, such as working with larger parties, overbooking, and blocking reservations. There also aren't any visual notifications when a new reservation comes through which can lead to things slipping through the cracks during a busy night.

Best in class, but still not perfect

5.0 3 years ago

Pros:

Tock is best in class in a field of mediocre reservation systems. They continue innovating with launching new features that are beneficial for restaurants/wineries and have a growing number of integrations with other systems (ecomm, crm) that allow for fairly low level of tech skills needed

Cons:

As we were preparing for launch, we discovered some features were still buggy and we needed to find workarounds. Process of reporting bugs and convincing their tech team to prioritize addressing wasn't perfect.

Tock is a stain on fine dining experiences

1.0 6 months ago

Pros:

Nothing. It is a despicable user experience and takes away from the dining experience.

Cons:

I find Resy and OpenTable are far better user experiences for diners. Tock charges asinine fees to diners and makes splitting a bill need a spreadsheet. I'd rate Tock 0/5 stars.

Competitor to Opentable

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I like Tock vs Opentable because it has more information on the special dining experiences than open table. I could also ordered something for pick up directly from Tock.

Cons:

not many restaurants use Tock so I still use open table for most of my reservations.

Restaurant review software makes booking easy

5.0 6 years ago
