GREAT FOR DEPOYING FIXED KPIs

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

It has good aesthetics and it is very straight forward to use. Also, it is very intuitive and allows for some level of interaction.

Cons:

This is far away from a self-service platform if the user does not know SQL. Thus, the platform should be used only by teams that have an analyst on the team that can publish new figures.

Alternatives Considered:

Convenient to use at the start, challenging to manage later on

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: As a small team, Redash allowed us to move forward with our analytics very quickly. As a growing company, the analytics technical debt is somehow piling up in large part due to the rapid prototyping enabled by Redash.

Pros:

It's very easy to connect a data source, write some queries, and get access and visibility to your data and metrics with Redash.

Cons:

While it's very easy to start creating queries and dashboards, managing the quality and lifecycle of these is very challenging. There's no version control feature which would have helped.

Redash - Deep Review

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Making dashboards allows us to create feature-specific dashboards, which are really useful as datapoints for adjusting the launch. And the majority of my connections have already heard about this technology from me. We continue to utilise Power BI, which is also used by our top management, for sophisticated analyses. Simple to install and configure. ties together the majority of the widely utilised databases. With Redash, getting access to and visibility over your data and analytics is really simple after connecting a data source and writing a few queries.

Cons:

Knowing if the dashboard has been updated might be perplexing at times, and getting a response to a question can take a while. However, no SQL expertise is needed to receive quick answers when creating and updating reports automatically. As a developing business, debt is somehow building up in large part due to Redash's ability to permit quick output. Any kind of control mechanism is useless.

Powerful and Flexible Platform

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Easy-to-use interface, Ad hoc reporting & visual dashboards - a great platform for data analysis and business intelligence.

Cons:

Close to no customer support, which is a big issue in 2023 - but a great community to reach out to.

REDASH - brilliant dashboard software

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: As a logistics company, we have a requirement to keen an eye on operations at many stages and levels. Each distribution center, warehouse, customer relationship, finance, transportation, admin resource, human resource, and others need access to real-time stats for quick action and corrections. Our team was evaluating other BI tools when they stumbled upon Redash. I would be very honest here and will say that Redash takes care of all our above requirements (which is like 80% of our dashboards). I am happy that we came across Redash. And I have already suggested this tool to most of my connections. As far as advanced analytics is concerned, we are still using Power BI (used by our Top Management).

Pros:

Its Open Source. Easy to setup and configure. Connects most of the commonly used databases. Fast and responsive. API enabled. Multi User / Role capabilities.

Cons:

Only one feature where a user with basic rights can see the list of other users.

Redash is a Powerful Business Intelligence Tool

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Redash saves a truckload of time for us. From working for about an hour or two on scripting to get a report, to just typing an easy query and having the outcome ready to use instantaneously. The cohort dashboard reduced the requirement to build a custom analytics user interface.

Pros:

Simply put, Redash helps you make sense of your data to query data sources and create visual dashboards. It is extremely easy to set up, configure and connect to a data source. I like how we can utilize it for all our central product metrics to keep the whole team associated. It is planned to assuage the restricted access in today's systematic workflow and drive teamwork around data projects.

Cons:

If you have an extremely large amount of data coming from several sources, Redash may give you some pain and become unmanageable. Moreover, the visualization types are limited in Redash.

Best dashboard for marketing analytics

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: We're using this to see the performance of our marketing automation campaigns. Other data like number of leads and revenue generated is also trackable easily through redash.

Pros:

Redash has a very user friendly interface which enables our team to customize dashboards at personal level. This has helped us in decision making for our marketing campaigns by analysing customer data and there engagement.

Cons:

Redash works very slow sometimes. It's takes lot of time in refreshing the data when changes are made in the query.

It is a lightweight product, suitable for startups that want to expose their data to stakeholders

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

It's cost effective. Very lightweight and quick to set up new queries. Sharing queries is also easy. There is also a "format" function that indents queries automatically, making them more readable.

Cons:

It doesn't scale for larger companies. The dashboarding and visualization features are not as advanced, so this is more for internal use and we don't use it for presentations to external parties.

Full featured analytics dashboards for reporting

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Great for reporting and monitoring of large streams of work by considering multiple metrics side by side, or digger into sub-dashboards that focus on lower-level features.

Pros:

We use redash heavily for large dashboards that have multiple metrics across multiple streams of work. I find redash easy to use and full featured in terms of visualisation options and the ability to remix and edit other people's queries to gain new insights.

Cons:

Sometimes it is confusing to know if a dashboard has been refreshed or not and it may take a lot of time to actually refresh a query.

Advanced Raw SQL - Without the Struggle

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Fast and easy setup with no hassle, limited sales emails, and easy to use Saas options.

Pros:

Redash makes it easy to run standard SQL queries against your local or cloud data source, and generate high quality tables and visualizations. Search and filtering on top of your queries is automated, making setup of high-value reports simple and quick. Redash also offers autocompleting queries, cutting the time needed to generate queries and reports. The value for cost is incredibly fair.

Cons:

The only lacking feature in Redash is visual report generation. Non-technical users will need a resource that knows SQL to be successful. However, once reports are created and auto-refreshed, no SQL knowledge is needed to get fast answers.

Regular Redash user

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Ability to make dashboards gives us to make feature wise dashboards which are really helpful as datapoints for dialing up the launch. We use this graphs to guage the success of the partial feature dialup and then increase the dialup percentage accordingly

Cons:

Parameterized queries are helpful to some extent how ever Each parameter is a single value however giving ability for providing multiple values(comboboxes) will be helpful

Not simple to set up, but very valuable

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

My company uses this software on a daily basis to understand order volume, revenue, market size, etc. Without Redash, we wouldnt be able to make some major company wide decisions.

Cons:

You do require some technical/coding understanding to effectively use this platform. I don't have any coding experience and I have needed engineering support to create queries for me several times, along with them teaching me what code to change in order to get the data I need.

Good data analysis tool

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Once set up, it's easy to use. It can give people an easy way to query and visualize their data. The fact that it's open source is a huge plus.

Cons:

It doesn't seem possible to delete a query (at least not in a simple way). Alerts are a bit too simple and don't offer too many options.

Answer questions about your data

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

Easy to create dashboards from existing data to answer important business questions. Very flexible since you can just write SQL. Open source version you can run yourself (but you should probably pay Redash to do it for you).

Cons:

Due to its flexibility it needs a lot of database permissions and the access control is not that fine-grained. You should only run Redash on dedicated databases replicated for analytics purposes.
