b2evolution - an alternative to wordpress

Comments: We host a blogging platform with b2evolution and its been a very nice experience.

Pros:

I like that b2evolution can be self hosted in my server which ensures the privacy i need. Its blogging capability is advanced and easy to use. Installation is a breeze as it comes with a installation wizard so even the non-technical person can install it. Further, b2evolution supports a forums system and also a knowldge base feature.

Cons:

So far, in using b2evolution, I have not found any problems but has been a breeze since I switched from wordpress

There could be more themes in the installation

Upgrade at Your Own Risk

Comments: I haven't solved any business problem with b2evolution because the blog I hoped to turn into a business remains offline since last year after yet another upgrade installation failure.

Pros:

This simple script is easy to use and provides detailed analytics.

Cons:

Repeated installation upgrade failures and rude support members that demand I "pay up or shut up" if I want their help to fix the problem.

Professional Blogging at its Best

Comments: B2evolution has save me enormous amounts of time and money

Pros:

I've been a Windows user since its inception. When looking for a good tool for a complex CMS/Blogging application I explored most of the more common tools. I found them wanting! It was then that I chose to explore B2evolution. It required me to learn PHP/Mysql and B2evo. The level of complexity was challenging. I have not regretted my decision. Once I got past my own limitations, B2evolution became an excellent teacher, friend, and tool. I have now been through 3 upgrades and now completing a project in the current version (7.2.3).

Cons:

Nothing! B2evo is a complete package and what it lacks you don't need.

Free open source CMS having everything you need

Comments: Used for my personal blog building.

Pros:

You can easily build your own website with the great structure on this CMS even if you are non-professional in this area. There are a lot of skins and widgets available for customization. Even server-side analytics and antispam tools are provided.

Cons:

Great free open-source platform, no drawbacks were detected.

This is all you need

Comments: B2evolution is a great software which can do everything you need regarding running an optimized website and blog and updating it to your desire. Helps a lot and I'm satisfied with it.

Pros:

The most impactful features for are easy post moderations, tons of analytics, SEO optimization and management and even website management. B2evolution has everyrhing you need.

Cons:

The worst thing I can think of this "does it all software" is the fact you need some time to learn the ins and outs.

I am always looking for something feature rich that offers integration and B2evolution delivers. It offers simple homepage creation, multiple blogs and private messaging.

Cons:

I haven’t found a single feature I dislike.

Greatest CMS in the marketplace

Comments: It has everything you need for a professional website, even if you are a non-developer (like me), and you have definitely a better idea about what a website really means as compared to using WP or other CMS.

Pros:

Their data privacy and the fact that there are all features you need for a professional website. There is also great user community which is very helpful.

Cons:

There are many skins but they all seem to be very similar.
