Sage Business Cloud - Cannot Do Business Without It

5.0 3 years ago

Pros:

I love the fact that my clients and I can share the same system in different locations. It also has an app that I can use on the go for invoicing and quotes.

Cons:

Currently, I don't have any grips with the system.

Simple, easy and professional accountancy.

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: very pleasant.

Pros:

Easy to navigate, simple to use and looks the dogs.

Cons:

There is no feature from sage itself for online payments. Subbing it to stripe is very expensive for big payments. I wish sage would have this feature included within their monthly billing and for small businesses we wouldn't get stung so badly with these card charges.

Cloud-based Accounting Solution for Small Businesses

4.0 2 weeks ago New

Pros:

Firstly Sage business cloud accounting has a very easy and user-friendly dashboard that can be used by anyone and has all needed options accessible on the homescreen summary page, making it easy for any small business to switch to online accounting. Sage allows users to create and send invoices, track invoices and even send them via email to clients and see when they dates they were created, sent, viewed and paid or not. Another great thing about the tool is that you can view your business bank account by linking it with the apps bank connection feature and best part is that you can add a professional look to your invoices by adding your company logo. And lastly, the tool allows users to generate different financial business reporting such as Vat returns, cash flow statements, profit and lose etc.

Cons:

Overall it can use more new additional features but it does the work just fine so far and is affordable fir any small business

I really wanted this to work

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: Unfortunately my experience was poor. I loved their desktop program and really wanted to love their cloud solution just as much.

Pros:

I love cloud solutions and the reports from this would have been nice.

Cons:

I was hit with what seemed like every road block as I tried to switch from my Sage Desktop program into their cloud program. Customer Support was lacking and I ended up joining a Facebook support group of other accountant/bookkeepers making a similar switch. In the end I had to make the decision to let it go or loose my productivity.

Sage Business Cloud Accounting - Does the job and more

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: We've been using the software for years now, and it doesn't let us down. When it receives updates, they are quick and painless. Our staff are all used to the software and seem to enjoy using it.

Pros:

There appears to be a lot of thought that has gone into the layout of all the screens. They are so easy to navigate and we've found that our accounting staff were very easy to train on it, which is a great sign.

Cons:

Time tracking would be a nice addition to have. It would make the software that much more fuller, and give us more of what we needed.

Sage is a complete cloud accounting software

5.0 3 weeks ago New

Comments: I appreciate the financial reporting we get from the software because of the variety they provide for my institution

Pros:

They have a great customer support team and they walk us through to fix any issue patiently. I usually use the email and live chat channels.

Cons:

Though they integrate some third-party software, I wish they could integrate more payment software and CRM software.

A great product

4.0 2 months ago New

Pros:

Sage Business Cloud Accounting is very user friendly and has great functions thanks to being in the cloud.

Cons:

It's a little behind it's competitors to be honest, I'm sure it will catch up though as the desktop software was the best on the market for years.

Cloud Accounting Package that is easy to use with limitations

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall for our purposes the software is easy to setup and use. I like the ability to access it anywhere and the ability to attach documents to transactions in the system. Modifying the chart of accounts was easy but the lack of customization on the layout of financial statements is frustrating.

Pros:

We have used the software version of sage products such as Sage Business Works and Sage 50 so the product and company are familiar to us. The ability to login to the software from anywhere and to no longer have to have client/server environment is great. The software was easy to signup for and was relatively easy to implement.

Cons:

There are 2 large cons to this software in comparison to it's direct competitors. Con #1: The package has no ability to custom group GL accounts. So for example, if you have a section on your income statement for sales and you want to group sales by category and have a sub-total for that sales section you cannot do that. There is really no ability to edit the income statement layout or the balance sheet layout to add in sections and sub totals so you are stuck with the canned version of the software. Con #2: In an environment where you have multiple small companies, you look after you cannot have one userid and password to access all the companies. You have to setup each company with it's own userid an password then invite another user via an email link to join.

Sage Business Cloud Accounting review

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Capability to meet the objectives of the finance department while also making the workflow much easier in terms of maximizing efficiency

Pros:

The installation and implementation procedures are straightforward. I like how easy the features are to use, even for non-accountants. It enables clients and colleagues to share files in real-time, saving time and eliminating the need to send invoices via email. This streamlines and lowers the cost of debtor management. When one is on the go, having access via a mobile device is extremely useful. The software is also reasonably priced, and it includes a free trial period. Sage's customer service is excellent.

Cons:

One suggestion is that when adding a new Item from the Invoice screen, the new Item screen includes all features (such as selecting the Purchase account). You must currently exit the Invoice, create a new Item, and then return to the Invoice.

Sage is a very easy and powerfule accounting tool

4.0 last year

Comments: Overall the experience is good. They can definitely work on their email support.

Pros:

The ease of the setup and use of the software. It was written so that anyone can use it. Very simple, yet poewerful.

Cons:

Some of the features that were advertised when pitched to us aren't available. The customer and supplier age analysis reports should have totals.

Possibly the best accounting software we've ever used

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Using Sage One allowed us to combine our Accounts and Payroll systems into one. It makes it easy to manage our accounts from any location and on any device. It also removed the worry of backing up and securing our accounts records.

Pros:

The fact that Sage One is cloud based, is probably the best feature. No more endless backups and annoying updates to perform. Everything is taken care of and the support team are amazing. It's also simple to grant access to your Accountant, who can then do whatever that need to when it's your year end etc. A very clear interface provides an overview of your current situation and makes it easy for you to do your everyday tasks like entering and raising invoices, or checking who owes you money. You can easily produces account statements and everything can be emailed straight to your customers, so far less physical paperwork.

Cons:

The Invoicing template choices are limited, but with a bit of creativity, you can definitely make something you can work with. The thing that needs the most attention is the method by which invoices and statements are emailed out. they appear to be from the email address you give the system, but are sent by Sage. Consequently, some clients weren't receiving their emails. We just turn any invoices into PDF's and email them ourselves. No big deal as we are still paperless, but it would be nice if we didn't have to. hopefully something that will be addressed on a future update.

Comments: My accountant can open a copy and quickly finish the year and tax preparation saving me time and money.

Pros:

I have used it for a very long time and it works very easily for me. It has evolved but never change so much as to make it difficult to keep using using. Sage has much more than I need but is still competitive with price and easy to use what I need.

Cons:

I never got the hang of bank reconciliation to work faster than manually but is me and I do not have a great deal of entries.

I have the full confidence in this product

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Excellent - they started a bit behind functionality wise from other products, and are now moving ahead of them, and I like the committment to constant development and the transparancy of their roadmap.

Pros:

It is intuitive, and my non-accountant clients can usually navigate their way around it themselves, and only occassionally require minimal support. My clients who have switch from other software have said that they wouldn't go back.

Cons:

The marketing for this product is not as flashy as competitors, and so sometimes it can be a hard sell to clients who want the one with the big ad campaign. As with most cloud products it is constantly evolving and I am not always aware of the new features which come out.

My honest opinion about Sage Cloud Accounting

4.0 6 months ago

Comments: It was a bit effective and allowed me to make my work easy even though I had to learn to do things differently from what I was used to

Pros:

The software saved much time which made my work as a Junior accountant a bit easy. It also made it easy to track down errors that I made during inserting details and it was less time consuming to ractifiy the errors. It was aslo handy for Financial Reporting to investors and the report must be straightforward and reasonable.

Cons:

The software needs to be tailored to fit to small and medium sized businesses. The Bank reconciliations system calculation can be consfusing at first which can stop other users from using it

Appalling Customer Service

2.0 5 years ago

Comments: I phoned and chatted online with Sage One (Sage Business Cloud?) customer service technical support 8 days ago over an issue and have also emailed them every working day since and they just keep telling me that they have logged the issue and it has been passed to their Development Team. In the meantime I can't send invoices. What's the point in offering 24/7 customer support if they just log the issue and make you wait over a week for a fix?

Pros:

Good interaction with payroll and Pension software, banking etc. Easy to use. Can use from any pc.

Cons:

Long list of minor but annoying issues, like it does not accommodate UK net monthly account customers/suppliers, the default dates on functions only show the current month. The only way to avoid the contact name appearing on the invoice address is to put a full stop in the contact name box (so the first line of every invoice is a full stop). Product list doesn't section so you can't add a percentage to one customer or one type of product. Appalling customer service for technical problems.

SAGE BUSINESS CLOUD ACCOUNTING

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Definitely the way for the future just love to work on this platform. All new clients advised to use Sage Business Cloud Accounting. The package can grow with the company from start up.

Pros:

The fact that is cloud base and accessible from anywhere as long as you have internet access. There are apps available to download onto mobile devices. The product is user friendly with guidance on how to use features. Download bank statements and map the expenses to save lots of time in the future.

Cons:

It is sometimes slow depending on internet speed and take a while to download bank statements.

Almost has 100% of what we need as a growing business

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Compliance, ability to integrate different aspects of financial company data.

Pros:

User-friendly interface. Good dashboard view. Collaboration with external agencies - HMRC, our accountant & book-keeper. Functionality has increased alongside our needs as a growing business. Cost-effective Excellent customer support

Cons:

No trace-ability of emails sent - only a Yes or No view of whether emails (invoices) have been sent. Cannot export XL data to our Pension portal (Big booooo for the Sageone!) No auto-generation of a reference number for purchases like there is sales?! This causes us issues!! Only 1 user allowed to access Payroll platform for our subscription

Does accounting as it should be

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Easy enough to use.

Pros:

As an online accounting system (enterprise) it does what any company and industry would need. You can configure it based on your company processes, but the reason you would want to use this, is that they have streamlined the process that you can adapt to, instead of the other way around. Why re-invent the wheel?

Cons:

Too proprietary. You must go through their accredited vendors to do most of the modifications and reports, unless you train and really go deep.

On the Wright path

Comments: Well if you have clients like I do it will make your life easier and more organized

Pros:

I first had this software when it was peach tree. It has a ton of features more then you will ever need with the ability to back everything up.

Cons:

It takes time to learn there is so much. I would start using this software has soon had you can. I started using it in the middle of my second year of business back in 2014 and it time some time inputting data but once it's there this software made my life a breeze but you will need to take time to set it up

Sage Business Cloud

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: It is great. During the lockdown period it has carried us.

Pros:

It's on cloud, you can access it anywhere. Hardly experience downtime. We were informed when the system was down. They were busy with upgrades. It has very good and user friendly, built-in reports. I also liked the bank integration by linking sage to the bank and upload seemlessly. Customer invoices can be emailed directly and there is an email report.

Cons:

There is no hard close. Even it the period is closed, you can go back and reopen and make changes. This compromise data integrity.

My role utilize Sage for inventory management

4.0 9 months ago

Pros:

What I like is that it's a powerful tool with customization capabilities. It accurately keeps track of our inventory as long as there's no human error

Cons:

It's a little buggy at time. Since it's so customizable, it's up to the developers to establish the database and how each database interact with each other. There are just things we wished were implemented by the dev from the beginning.
