Learn more about Employee Navigator

Pros:

There is a lot of customization that can be done, and a lot of reports that you can pull. It also seems to integrate with a lot of carrier enrollment systems - that is a huge plus.

Cons:

I feel that the onboarding functionality lags behind the market at the present time. Many platforms are able to use fillable forms and store them within the tool.

So great!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Been wonderful and so helpful in streamlining the benefit deduction process. Previously I was hand entering each deduction for each employee every year and when changes occured and it's nice that it's so well integrated. We also receive it free through our insurance broker which is nice.

Pros:

I love how seamlessly EN integrates with Paycor and all new employees are sent to EN and all elections are sent to the paygrid. It made open enrollment very easy last year.

Cons:

It's always difficult to figure out how to resend a welcome email or access code to employees if they switched from inelgible to later eligible or if they lose the initial email.

Weak features, no access to training

2.0 5 years ago

Comments: Horrible. Useless tool that is truly embarrassing for any HR department. It made me think all
HR should be done on paper. That's saying a lot because I work for an IT company.

Pros:

There was virtually nothing about this that I found intuitive or ideal. The steps to add a new employee were fairly straightforward

Cons:

Navigation through the site was not intuitive. There are no training videos to teach you how to set up or manage employees. The time off feature never worked--the number of hours came out wrong for almost all employees & requried a 14 day waiting period from policy creation to activation. Social security numbers are always visible. I would prefer to have this blacked out unless I chose to see it. Employees don't receive confirmations of updates to their account. This would be ideal for benefits enrollment. The email templates were difficult to use. I never quite figured it out. The admin doesn't get notifications/confirmation when changes are made (terminations, benefits changes, time off requests)

Most user friendly system for a non-technical user

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Our experience has been very positive for us and our clients. It's a huge value to be able to offer this to our employers to help manage their employees and benefits.

Pros:

We've learned as we go with this system but once we got the hang of certain features or rules for plan setup it became much more smooth to set up new accounts. We have used/experienced other systems and this is the most user friendly. The support team is excellent and helpful whenever we have questions. The wall feature is critical in managing changes.

Cons:

The reporting tool could use some work. It's not possible to pull only new hire elections for deductions. There also needs to be a way to include new employees in an open enrollment period without having them enroll twice (once for OE and once for new hire eligibility). They MUST get the PDF editor/fillable form situation figured out asap. Being able to map any fields to a PDF form needs to be figured out.

If you care about tracking EOIs and compliance overrall... this one is for you

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

It has a great user interface and is easy for HR and employees to use. We received feedback from employees that the online enrollment flow is easy to use during our very first Open Enrollment on EN and that is saying something if the employees find it easy to use! Also the Evidence of Insurability tracking is easy and seamless. We and our client struggle and spend hours tracking and reviewing EOI from other systems while EN's is easy to build on the plan side and easy to understand from the employee and HR views. We also love the carrier integrations. We mostly have ancillary carrier integrations, no medical ones yet. I manage the 834 EDI feeds on the self-service system for our medical carriers and that is also easy to use. Finally we love the automatic reminders that can be scheduled for new hires and open enrollment and we love the ability to customize the notifications for different actions in the system both for broker and for client's HR team.

Cons:

It is a rules-based system so if you have clients who like to make their own rules , well then this will frustrate them. You do have the ability to manually edit effective dates of enrollments and coverage amounts but otherwise the extra effort of tracking and processing special exceptions will exhaust you and the client and it will also make the option of carrier integrations an impossibility because you will have so many error discrepancy reports to fix. You also only have one person from your agency who can contact service on your behalf unless you pay extra for another premier user. Sometimes this can be frustrating to funnel every question and issue through one person.

Biggest Bang for Your Buck

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

What we and our clients love about Employee Navigator: it's very user-friendly, no need to print New Hire and Open Enrollment documents/handouts, abiltiy to add employee "tasks" and track those tasks, it's self-service, available 24-7, everything is on the portal. This saves them time and money.

Cons:

Setting up the plans for Vol STD and Vol LTD can be a little tricky and you really need to pay attention to the plan "rounding rules". Failure to do so will result in inaccurate employee costs.

Employee Navigator

5.0 last year

Comments: My overall experience with Employee Navigator has been very postive. From the initial training to all of the available webinars and recordings to the support and the actual system itself, it is a well oiled machine! The bar has been set and I rarely use another system without expressing frustration that they don't have the options or setup that Employee Navigator does.

Pros:

I love how easy Employee Navigator is to use. The system is very intuitive and able to calculate eligibility in a number of ways and account for a variety of unique circumstances. The enroller view looks just like the employee view and makes it easy for the enroller to see exactly what is being elected for only that specific new hire or open enrollment window. There is no guessing. The timeline tracks every action to an employee profile or election which makes it very easy to know exactly what happened and who was signed in to complete that action. Employee Navigator is constantly adding new partners for data integrations. Support is amazing. They are always friendly, helpful and responsive and if they aren't certain of an answer, they will work until they have an answer. The help pages are are easy to search and to understand and always link to other things that you might want or need to know about your topic. Employee Navigator is always a positive experience.

Cons:

Because you have to be a premier user to call Support, there are times when I am working with another group and they can't specifically help me if I am not the premier user on that group. I understand why they have the premier users, but it would be great if they could still help me with the specific group as long as I am a premier user on another account.

Save money and time with Employee Navigator administrative tools.

5.0 last year

Comments: Very positive experiences with the system and with its employees who make it a pleasure to call in with a question.

Pros:

They have the processes we need; are willing to listen to new ideas for upgrades to those processes; put lots of enthusiasm and effort into training and providing support to their clients and their vendors.

Cons:

Honestly, they are awesome, but the one area which needs a bit more attention is the search tool. They have amazing articles, but the update of those articles doesn't show unless you click on them. I would like to see the updated date on the review page.

We Love Employee Navigator

5.0 last year

Comments: Wonderful!

Pros:

Their customer service is second to none. Whoever answers the phone owns your questions I have never had an issue with follow up. They work very hard to be partners sharing information and/or trainings without being annoying. I've been in employee benefits for 25 years and I highly recommend Employee Navigator. It has helped us scale and has greatly reduced our costs. We also love it integrates with lots of payroll and cobra vendors.

Cons:

We have honestly not had any issues and are Raving Fans.

User Friendly

5.0 last year

Pros:

Employee Navigator is so user friendly. All our clients love how easy the system is to use. It is like a huge filing system for all their employee benefits. It assists our clients/HR users in keeping track of their employee benefit elections and makes Open Enrollment less stressful.

Cons:

Like all benefit administrative and HR management systems there are some cons. You have to pay attention when setting up certain plans, such as short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. However, I will say that the Employee Navigator customer service is top notch and will do their best to fix any issues you run into.

Employee Navigator for Benefit Admin

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: We use the program all day and can't imagine how we ever did the job before. This tool makes our, and our clients, job easier.

Pros:

This intuitive system keeps us connected to our clients and their employees; helping us to stay abreast of any status changes, benefit enrollments, and compliance requriements.

Cons:

There is a learning curve - it takes awhile of regular use to become accustomed to where everything is.

Comments: Service issues resolved immediately and always updating the functionality. I've been so pleased over the last 5 years I've worked in the system.

Pros:

Ease of use and robust functionality. Love that it cuts down on paper files. Great integration function to aid with eligibility changes.

Cons:

Great if there was an app.Would be great if employers could add pdf files to email templates as well as QR Codes embedded.

Enjoying Employee Navigator

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, our experience with Employee Navigator has been outstanding compared to other benefit administration solutions. The Navigator Support Team is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and receptive to suggested system changes. Employee Navigator has allowed us to increase business and provide long-term technology solutions to companies in need of an easy, friendly, straightforward system.

Pros:

The ability to manage employees and benefits is extremely simple.

Cons:

The main con about Employee Navigator is how long it takes to implement feature enhancements.

I've loved Employee Navigator since 2014

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I started using Employee Navigator back in 2014. I currently build and maintain three Employee Navigator portals for three Insurance brokers across the state of Florida. I love how I can customize Employee Navigator to accommodate the needs of several different business types. I have lawyers, executives, truck drivers, teachers and hair styles all logging into Employee Navigator and using it with ease. The only thing I love more than this software are the people at the help desk. If I run into any issues I can call. One day I was in tears and poor Max had to calm me down, then helped me fix my problem. If I have a difficult issue that can't be resolved on the phone, I get escalated to Tier Two. My turn around time with Tier Two is usually with in a day. The entire support team is friendly and dedicated to solving my issues so I can continue on with my day.

Pros:

Employee Navigator is visually attractive. I am able to locate employee information quickly. I love the Voluntary Life toggles, those are fun to play with. One of my favorite features is when you change Coverage Level from Employee to Employee Spouse the per pay period deductions change instantly. Lastly I am loving the Third Party App, hooking up a partner is easy and reduces my clients work flow.

Cons:

The I-9 feature in Tasks is useless. This feature gives the illusion that the employee and the client have completed the I-9, when all it has really done is make the employee enter the same information twice. Once in Employee Navigator then again when they go through the E verify process. I discourage everyone from using this feature.

Employee Navigator Benefit Administration

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Enrollment Issues. The need to self enroll. It is easy system for brokers and plan administrators to understand.

Pros:

I like the simplicity of use. The knowledge base is outstanding. The service and support teams are excellent as well. It is nice to have people in this field that understand what we encounter daily.

Cons:

I like to see more groups in the Data Exchange XML.

Employee Navigator is an excellent software program!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Our company has been using Employee Navigator for about 6 years now and we couldn't be more pleased with the product! It is a true time saver and the carrier integrations are a HUGE part of that. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a great Ben Admin software!

Pros:

One of the things I like about Employee Navigator is it's ease of use (very user friendly). Most importantly though is the fact that the staff at Employee Navigator is second to none in customer service! They have very experienced, knowledgeable staff that is always eager to help and walk you through any questions you might have. You actually get to talk to a REAL, LIVE person! You don't get sent to a voice mail or have to talk to a robot that makes you punch in a bunch of numbers before you get to talk to a real person!

Cons:

The only thing Employee Navigator might improve on is some of their onboarding processes. However, I must say that they are ALWAYS willing to listen to their brokers and take their suggestions and are constantly improving that side of the product.

Using Employee is a NO Brainer for me.

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

It is very user friendly and if you need help, you can call and talk with a live person-Not a robot or an automated attendant.

Cons:

The retirement and voluntary life features are not the best and need some work. But they do work ok as they are.

Simple system with a lot of Zip!

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: I think this system is the best out there and is always evolving into a better benefit admin system. There are constant improvements being made. Their support staff is great and very responsive.

Pros:

The ease and simplicity of the system. Nor only do I find the system very easy to use and navigate but our client and their employees find it just as easy. Training clients how to use the site is a breeze and with all of the features I can customize each client's site to their own specifications. No matter how complex or how simple the client is there is always a way to implement a client just right.

Cons:

There is no editable/signable online documents. Some of the default functions and settings could be setup better. Little things that could be tweeked but nothing major that can't be worked around. Could provide more training on functionality and provide manuals.

Flexible System

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Employee Navigator has given our smaller clients a way to jump into the 21st century with their BenAdmin system where other software systems would not. In a lot of ways Employee Navigator offers more than what some of the more expensive software systems do. It is easy to use and quick to learn. We have been very happy with it.

Pros:

We have really been impressed with the flexibility of the system. It can handle most any type of benefit situation that we have going on. It is also great that when we note something that could be improved the development team takes it seriously. We have been on the system for about 4 years and it continues to improve monthly!

Cons:

I'm not a fan of the PTO system. We recommend our clients use whatever system they currently have in place.

Great System!

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Very positive experience. Clients love the system as well.

Pros:

System is very user friendly. When help is needed, the support staff is very responsive and helpful. It is a powerful benefit administration system for an affordable price. They listen to user feedback and they are always updating and improving the system based on feedback and client needs.

Cons:

Since it is priced and designed to be a self service tool, it does require some commitment for the agency premier user to learn the system and create best practises for clients. However, if help is needed EE Nav support is there to assist.

Employee Navigator is a great tool for benefit management

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Pros: User friendly, has on-line enrollment, feeds to our insurance carrier, easy to enroll new employees and terminate employees when they leave. It has made open enrollment and new employee benefit enrollment go smoothly.

Cons:

Cons: There are a lot of reports and possibly features that I don't know how to use or what to use them for, I could use some training. I think maybe some short training videos within the software would be great.

Employee Navigator is a good solution for smaller employers.

4.0 7 years ago

Comments: As a large national broker, it gives us the opportunity to provide a self service solution for our smaller clients for little cost.

Pros:

Gives us the ability to provide our smaller clients with Employee Self Service. Great solution for employers who are still using paper. There is some on boarding which is helpful and the employers like the reporting.

Cons:

The software has limitations around things like pending EOI amounts. Would also like to see more payroll integrations. All in all, it has its place.

Hands down the only way to go is Employee Navigator!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Best purchase made for added value service for our clients

Pros:

Employee Navigator is not only a feature packed power house when it comes to delivering an adaptable, easy to use and constantly improving platform, but is equally matched by its level of customer support professionals and staff with a level of service that has almost disappeared. Employee Navigator strives to stay on trend with updates and system enhancements that customers and users ask for while at the same time making these updates seamless during integration.

Cons:

None!!! Have been using Employee Navigator for 4+ years and not found anything that I have had issues with or complaint.

Employee Navigator Review

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall, Employee Navigator is a great tool and extremely beneficial to our clients. It allows our clients to have easier enrollments for new hires and open enrollment. The reporting features are very helpful and can even be customized.

Pros:

Very easy to navigate and user friendly. Can handle just about every plan setup and design. Their customer support team is amazing and very easy to work with. If they can't answer your question right away, they will escalate it and will always get back to you in a timely fashion.

Cons:

Sometimes I wish there was a little more customization freedom on plan setup. Every now and then I run into a plan design that has some uniqueness to it and isn't always supported by Employee Navigator.
