Great software
Comments: Our accounts receivable and payable tasks are much easier since changing to Accounting Seed. Our reporting capabilities are much improved over our previous software.
Pros:
This software has very robust capabilities. It's good for businesses that have complex operations. It works very seamlessly with Salesforce.
Cons:
Their customer support could be better. I wish I had a dedicated point of contact when I have questions. I also wish I could pick up the phone and talk to a person instead of having to create a case and wait to get emailed back days later.
Alternatives Considered:
It's been a difficult bumpy road
Comments: Frustrating to say the least.
Pros:
Price. Ease of integration with Salesforce
Cons:
The input screens for payables and receivables is cluttered and takes extra time to tab/scroll past all the fields that you do not need to populate. When you look drill into a journal entry from an account you only see the one side of the entry. You always need to see both or all the entries associated with that JE.The import templates provided don't always work. The fact that apparently after we implemented in July we need an upgrade in September. We were not notified we needed to upgrade. Why doesn't hat happen automatically? We had an issue with applying cash receipts and it took a week for Support to let us know we need an upgrade. and then there was no direction about how to do an upgrade.
Accounting Seed
Comments: Our overall experience was good. We transitioned from Quickbooks to Accounting Seed and it was a major transition, but the accounting seed team worked with us to make sure it went smoothly.
Pros:
We chose accounting seed because it integrates with Salesforce and it was the only Accounting software available at the time that could fully integrate within our platform. We also have a high number of credit card transactions that we have to reconcile each month and liked the Bank Direct Connect functionality.
Cons:
There were some limitations within the software, but if feel with each update, the Accounting Seed team works to offer updates and solutions to key issues.
Upgrading Accounting Software
Comments: By transitioning to Accounting Seed, we have been able to STOP operating in separate silos. Accounting Seed was able to marry our accounting and CRM systems perfectly. I would suggest working with a consultant(s) if you are making the switch, this helped us significantly in our transition.
Pros:
As a sales organization, our business LIVES in Salesforce. As a result, we needed to make a change to our accounting software, and moving to a program that directly connected was critical. Enter: Aaccounting Seed. We finally have all of our systems talking, making the daily management of our business so much more efficient! Accounting Seed also allows for a lot of customization in setup and reporting--something we were never able to do with past accounting systems.
Cons:
The only "con" we could call out if you are transitioning from another system to Accounting Seed--unless you are an expert at transitioning systems, you will want to engage with both Accounting Seed support and likely a consultant to help navigate your transition. This will save you time and money in the long run, and get you up and running faster!
Alternatives Considered:
Completed the Integration of our Operations and Accounting
Comments: From day one right, to project completion, and now continuing to today, Accounting Seed was and is responsive, transparent, and overall a terrific implementation partner.
Pros:
Fully integrated our accounting operations and reporting into our Salesforce platform. Fully replaced our prior Quickbooks accounting. Greatly reduced duplicate entries and speed of reporting.
Cons:
Going through the process is time consuming because of the need to accommodate many customizations and unique processes we have. The software was not the cause, just the nature of the challenge.

Accounting Seed Review
Comments: Always good.
Pros:
What I liked the most was the customer support available to me. They were knowledgeable and friendly
Cons:
I would like the JE number to be displayed more often in their reports/audit trail
Alternatives Considered:
An Excellent Value Financial Solution
Comments: Overall, we have had good experiences. The package has a straightforward install (save once when we didn't have the correct release, and good to very good support. The Knowledge Base is helpful.
Pros:
Having a financial solution on the Salesforce platform is a game-changer for development and implementation speed. Real-time financial information available at the Account, Opportunity, and Project record level increases the speed, accuracy, and relevance of critical business intelligence. This, in turn, translates into greater business agility while exponentially increasing confidence in the processing and assessment of business threats and opportunities.
Cons:
Recently the platform and license costing has been a bit of a moving target. I have evangelized for this product and assisted several of our clients with AS implementations, and more than once we have found out significant cost impacts after the initial purchase. The bank connections have also been challenging, as while the advertised "1400" banks might sound like a lot, we have discovered the hard way that having a bank name on the list does not guarantee a connection, as each bank can have several connectors, and not all are compatible with Accounting Seed.
Great API and ability to customize. Standard out of the box is functionality is average.
Comments: The software works and the API gives you the flexibility to do what you want for the most part. Normal retail businesses or consultant companies shouldn't have any issues integrating the software. For heavily customized users - know what you're getting into from an investment standpoint before moving forward.
Pros:
The API has been instrumental in allowing us to make this accounting software work with all of our heavy salesforce customizations. We have a custom quoting tool, project management tool, and project profitability tracking tool that all work with Accounting Seed. The integration with SF has been a game changer for data reliability and work flow. Overall it's pretty easy to use once you know what you're doing.
Cons:
For about a year they had no way to allow for multiple tax ID's with Avalara and the API wouldn't work for it either. The last release has fixed that and made the lives of our accounting team much better. Their online tutorials and instructions aren't the easiest - improved search would help finding things. For us, since we had so many customizations with SF already, it was quite expensive on top of the Accounting Seed cost to get it to work for our company.
Support and Help ++
Comments: Overall positive experience with the product.
Pros:
The tools it is allowing our team to do today and in the future with business growth gives us the power of knowledge and analysis.
Cons:
As the product is quite customizable, it is also requiring a lot of effort for basic functionality that use as end users are seeking. We are building towards getting those results
Accounting
Comments: good
Pros:
set up and payment of payables. The ease of Billing with the attachments of reports automatic from Saleforce.
Cons:
Reports- find it difficult to get accurate reports easily. Journal Entries are not included in financial reports which is an issue.
Accounting Seed Response

Thank you for sharing your experience! We really appreciate you taking the time. In regards to your note on reports, I'm not sure what types of reports you are pulling, but there is a way to view and include Journal Entries on your reports. I highly recommend we get your team connected with Support for assistance. You can either access support through accountingseed.com, or you can email our team at [email protected]. Thank you!
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Comments: Using this within Salesforce reaps huge reward. We can work together with our team spread far and wide!
Pros:
The Team is amazing and well versed, a pleasure to work with. Being in DF means access to everything from anywhere!
Cons:
The rate of change is touted as a benefit, but in reality is a bug. When your team complains about each new version, you know you have a problem. Multiple releases per year disrupt our org. Opting out is received negatively, and the belief that an org our size can have our team Beta Testing new releases in our sandbox several times a year indicated an unfamiliarity with our work loads. I hope they can stabilize the product and get to a maximum of a large yearly release, because the current "Improvements" are quite disruptive. That being said, I hope they prosper, because the software offers great promise, and a real shot at being the defacto standard for on system accounting in a Salesforce environment.
Good value, doesn't scale well
Pros:
The integration with SF and our TMS is great, its fantastic to have all order information linked to the accounting objects. Reporting is great as well, that is mostly a SF feature.
Cons:
The inability to send ACH payments out of the box was a huge piece for us. I was referred to Check21 which was ridiculously expensive. Also cash application takes too long if you have a customer that has x number of invoices. Some of our larger accounts have more than 2000 invoices open at a given time. Paging through screens takes a very long time. Seems like we have outgrown AS's sweet spot of transactions. In addition daily billing/payable posting takes a long time, (exceeding lines). Bank rec gets split into multiple recs due to 4k item limit.
Accounting Seed Review
Comments: It has been a fantastic journey and a learning one for me
Pros:
The control features in Accounting Seed has made TQM a must for us. It is easy to use
Cons:
Reporting features should be improved - sometimes I am confused as to what "type of amount" - ledger amount, report amount, converted, etc to use. At other times you need to pay a lot of attention so as not to report negative values as positives. Training on the use of the app should not be limited to what they currently have in Accounting Seed University/knowledge based articles - it should be repackaged and broadened to include all aspects of the software (including financial cubes and how they are used)
10 Years of Supporting Accounting Seed
Comments: Integrating Salesforce applications with Accounting Seed extends their applications to the next level and we help both ISV's and end users in this fashion!
Pros:
It is easy to support Accounting Seed as it is native to Salesforce!
Cons:
I appreciate the double accounting aspect of this enterprise solution, however, the number of users that come from single entry accounting systems such as QuickBooks need additional training and initial support.
Accounting Seed Review
Pros:
Accounting seed is a very user friendly software
Cons:
It would be nice to have the ability to have a 13th month for accounting
Complete and Comprehensive General Ledger and Financial Reporting
Comments: The system overall is a fabulous product that goes far beyond the functionality of other accounting solutions, such as: Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Sage, Quickbooks, Servman, Aljex, and Epicor.
Pros:
Accounting Seed is intuitive, has internal controls, an audit trail, produces all financial statements including a Statement of Cash Flows, a full general ledger, has exemplary customer support, and combined with Salesforce applications, provides for complete and comprehensive financial reporting
Cons:
There are some minor issues with the application, but nothing that prevented me from using it. For example, I would like to see the company name and logo on the financial statements.
Introduced to AS 10 Months Ago and already feel like a pro using it
Comments: We work with smaller clients often in the Manufacturing world. It was very easy for me to come up to speed and be able to train and assist our clients.
Pros:
I had never heard of Accounting Seed until October 2021. I was also new to Salesforece at that time. Accounting Seed integrates so well with Salesforce that I didn't even realize I was using 2 different platforms at first. Additionally it's highly customizeable but even works well when it's fresh "out of the box". I've even worked with ERP's that use Salesforce and have their own Accounting tools and Accounting Seed is easily integrated with the ERP.
Cons:
The biggest thing our client's have confusion on is the Bank Direct Connect and Bank Reconciliation process. BDC is there to help make reconciliations easier, however, many believe that they must be able to match up all BDC records in order for reconciliations to work.
Straightforward, simple to use and great support what's not to like?
Comments: The support desk is amazing, I want to name-drop [SENSITIVE CONTENT], he's brilliant. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and human! The product is very straightforward, easy to implement and simple to support.
Pros:
I find that this product sits so well with in Salesforce which makes life easier and ensures our business has a 360-degree view of the business in one place and the information is up to date to the millisecond.
Cons:
Documentation for releases/functionality, I sometimes I feel that the documentation has a lot of words that don't say very much or don't actually say anything.
GL support
Comments: Good to use for daily transactional posting work.
Pros:
It is easy to get accounting data. I use it for day to day transaction posting and Financial reporting and I feel it gives all details readily available.
Cons:
Bit difficult to get both debit and credit of the JE in one screen.
Great option for Salesforce
Pros:
Our organization needed a Salesforce-based accounting solution. Accounting Seed has helped us connect all of our business transactions to fiscal records in the same system.
Cons:
Some of the reporting features are limited and configuration at time of implementation took more time to complete than anticipated.
Flexible and powerful accounting software in Salesforce platform
Pros:
Customizable with existing Salesforce business processes. Powerful reporting and dashboard capabilities.
Cons:
User interface is limited to Salesforce user interface so its little clicky.
Great Accounting Solution on Salesforce
Pros:
Easy to customize a lot of the features and functionality based on your business use case.
Cons:
Usability is something challenging and it makes it harder to find what you are looking for.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Accounting Seed, Walt. Please feel free to contact us through the Support Portal on our website if you need further support or assistance in regards to usability. Thank you!
Review from the Implementer
Pros:
The greatest PRO that Accounting Seed offered is the ease of communication with FieldFX, which is our operating system.
Cons:
The biggest CON I can see would be more of a suggestion, which is there is no credit card reconcillation application within Accounting Seed. If they added that, it would make life a little more easy.
Once you get it set up how you want it, it's a fantastic accounting system.
Comments: Overall, AS is a good salesforce-native account software.
Pros:
How powerful it is and what all it can accomplish. It's been able to completely handle all of our accounting needs in Salesforce.
Cons:
Their support can be hard to deal with some times. There have been times that the support took so long to respond back that the issue became worse or never resolved.
