Maybe the best for Video creation - recording your screen.

Comments: I am creating video tutorials for the software that we provide to our customers.

Pros:

- Screen Recording - Easy Video Editing - Can add narration "Text - to - Speach" with true voices! - Can add music background in the whole video, no mater how many slides - Can make software simulations - Can make quizes and get the results - Ideal for Video Tutorials and creation of pre-recorderd courses.

Cons:

Not really many things to mention. Maybe the only drawback is that you have free updates for the major version you buy. But honestly... I wouldn't say that this is strange! You buy a software and you can use it for as long as you want... and the company gives you free updates for many years... but only for the version you bought. Fair I guess...

Active Presenter is all you need for professional video creation

Comments: I have been using Active Presenter for about 6 years now and I can't do my job without it. I don't need a complex or expensive program to create videos, Active Presenter does everything they do. If I have a question, the user forum usually has the answer or I post the question and usually get an answer the next day - that's unbelievable. Plus they stay up to date with their user guide and software updates.

Pros:

I love how easy and intuitive Active Presenter is. I have used Captivate and other products and they aren't as easy. Plus Active Presenter is a fraction of their costs and has all the tools I need to create video simulations, interactive videos and just plain tutorials. I also like the ability to effortlessly import slides from PowerPoint. Great product and fabulous customer service!

Cons:

I would like more Animations to choose from to add even more pizzazz, but it has the standard animations that PowerPoint has.

All in 1 screen recording

Comments: Overall, as long as you are Okay with their animation quality and the price, ActivePresenter is a great choice for users who need a comprehensive and easy-to-use screen recording. It offers a wide range of features and an intuitive interface makes it suitable for all skill levels.

Cons:

I do understand why people like ActivePresenter, but compared to other alternatives, ActivePresenter is quite expensive, and their animation, such as transition, ouch it is ugly, sometimes I feel like using the old windows video editor.

My best choice for creating interactive courses and games

Comments: I use Active Presenter since one of the earliest version if I remember well about 8 years or more ago. I liked the screen record feature you can use with simplicity. I created two interactive games for children in preschooler age about basic English and colours, it was very easy to find how to manage the interactivity and also the support was very fast in giving me a solution when I had to create an interactive bookshelf to sell a market products using custom pictures and Paypal method and buttons.

Pros:

I liked the extensive features you can use and the simplicity of the UI. I created two interactive games and imported my assets without any inconveniences. I exported in HTML5 the final product and it worked fine with any browsers.

Cons:

I don't know any cons because during the use if I had a problem in a matter of time the support helped me.

Excellent eLearning Authoring Tool with World-Class Customer Support

Comments: Our team has used ActivePresenter to develop and publish more than 30 eLearning modules with assessments for the past 5+ years.

Pros:

The application has an intuitive slide-based workflow, a robust set of eLearning development tools, multi-modal publishing (demo, tutorial, practice, and test modes) and one-click publishing to HTML5 and/or SCORM formats for ready deployment via LMS (we use it with MOODLE). The few times I have needed support, the team was very responsive and extremely helpful and even on a few occasions created scripts to make the software do what we needed it to do (which were somewhat non-standard use-cases). I have used many eLearning development and deployment platforms (including the 2 heaviest hitters in the industry), but ActivePresenter is hands-down the best value for the money and is most accessible for new team members to ramp up in learning development.

Cons:

No cons after 5+ years of use creating and publishing dozens of interactive learning resources.

Awesome Control and Flexibility

Comments: In my short time using ActivePresenter so far, I have been extremely impressed with the functionality that can be developed using this tool. Where some might prefer a more streamlined experience that caters to the novice - I prefer a blank slate and I appreciate that this authoring tool does a nice job of balancing the experience for both new and veteran users alike.

Pros:

ActivePresenter leaves control to the developer and allows for a great deal of flexibility to realize your projects. User friendly interface makes most things easy to find. Strong JavaScript support and extremely well written documentation. Technical support from developer via community forums is fantastic.

Cons:

JavaScript coding is a little heavier due to the syntax requirements but a small concession compared to what is possible.

Great software and customer support

Comments: Productive developing of eLearning material, notably SCORM and good customer support

Pros:

A good free version for evaluation and reasonably priced licenses. Easy to use and works great in HTML5 and SCORM to upload to LMS or other sites. Great customer support via the forum or email.

Cons:

Hard to use javascript (at least for version 6) as no scripting references are available. This would be helpful as certain action in the interactive part are missing. e.g. a play/resume button - but support is available.

ActivePresenter for Screensharing

Pros:

It is feasible and freeware if anyone utilising it for personal use, but as we were using it for organisation so it required license. But the feature and ease of use were good of it.

Cons:

When using for personal use it records with the watermark however that was not considered as an issue.

Looking for a cost-effective tool to combine on screen recordings with other media.

Comments: Ability to record on screen actions and combine that with recorded video, still and audio clips to create a single merged video output.

Pros:

I played with a lot of tools in this category - many are free/feature limited with Pro versions ranging from single high cost to subscriptions. Active Presenter was the best combination of features (basic timeline editing, ability to pan and zoom the screen video, various options for exporting, no recurring costs for needed features) I found. In fairness, there is no such think as "simple" video editing. If you don't know what you're doing or don't do it frequently enough to recall all the feature locations, you'll struggle. Active Presenter is not designed for first time/one time use. It's a fairly serious program with a lot of features and options. I appreciate that it gives me the tools and controls to do the things I need without limitations, even at the cost of a learning curve.

Cons:

It feels like it's designed for more slideshow based output than full video. It's capable of both, but many of the obvious options and toolbar buttons are geared towards something other than integrated video and on-screen action.

I am a writer about software for PCs and Mac.

Pros:

ActivePresenter can record video, webcam with audio, system sound and take screenshot in full hd quality. The program also comes with very intuitive interface plus ever-expanding variety of video editing features. It is free and safe to use.

Cons:

It lacks of video effects that many other video editors offer. Anyway, it's great for me since I seldom add effects to my tutorial video.

High-end editor at an affordable price

Comments: Maintenance of how-to videos is a big issue. With ActivePresenter, we can switch out anything that needs to be edited for a new release, switch in new material quickly, and put out a revised video in less than an hour. With some other video editors, it took a couple of days.
We’ve occasionally lost source files for older videos (not necessarily in ActivePresenter). With AP, we simply record the published older video and turn it into an AP source file.

Pros:

I use ActivePresenter in two contexts. As a video producer for a major educational company, I produce small how-to videos that need frequent updating. As a mystery writer, I produce "teaser" videos for my books: fewer maintenance cycles but I need more dazzling effects. I've used other video editing suites and course creation tools, including Captivate, Camtasia, and (currently) Premiere Pro. For ease of use and breadth of features, my favorite is ActivePresenter. It is enormously flexible. It can import PowerPoint slides, images, GIFs, and other videos. As you edit, you can separate your video into chunks ("slides") to focus on one piece of animation or editing at a time. It captures video off the screen or from an application *and separates the video track from the audio track*--a huge win in maintenance. You can record multiple audio and video tracks at once. You can record a video without the mouse and layer the mouse in later, another big maintenance win. Once you’ve captured a video, you can export it as a MP4, then add it to another video, then edit it again, then export that video and import it to another video…all without loss of audio or video quality. Editing is nondestructive. AP has a nice library of special effects, including transitions from scene to scene, fades in and out of individual items in the timeline, animation (even without Saola Animate), and opacity. With the course creation module, of course, you’d get many more.

Cons:

It’s a high-end video edit and there’s a learning curve if you haven’t used a similar product before. If you have, some things work differently but there are no real surprises. Source files for a complex video can be LARGE, up to several hundred MB. Plan your storage accordingly. (Output files are fine.) Neither of these are big issues.

A complete and well-designed software for creating interactive HTML5 elearning contents.

Comments: For me, ActivePresenter is perfect as an all-in-one elearning authoring package!

I use ActivePresenter now for almost 3 years! I am very proud of showing my presentations to all my colleagues. The interactivity and the user-friendly approach is so great! As a Physics Teacher, after many years, I finally found the ultimate solution to cope with the modern students needs. ActivePresenter makes teaching active, dynamic, `flashing and student-related. All my lessons are `packed in ActivePresenter. I also incorporate the necessary text-to-speech fragments; this makes me feel completely relieved and at ease, because prepared to `cope with the group of `youngsters in the classroom. These moments in front of the classroom are accompanied with e-learning activities. ActivePresenter presentations have full interactive options; students are really enthusiastic to work independently on tasks, modules, interactive quizzes and hard-core-physics-exercises. Here are a few of the many things I like about the software: Easy `basic-down-to-earth PowerPoint-like presentations with automated output; (even here, the possibilities are 100-fold compared to other tools!). Built-in audio/video editing capabilities. Interactive elements are available to guide the audience by an adapted path, fitting the situation or the need of the audience. Various types of questions/quizzes. All the results of the students can easily be stored in an LMS (with SCORM or xAPI support). You can also make an automated link to Google Spreadsheets to follow up the results!

Cons:

A little bit of learning curve before you can explore all the possibilities of the software. (but after all, there is a very elaborated manual and a supporting help-desk!)

Great software for every requirement for video editing.

Comments: Overall experience has been great and I really like this. It is easy and gives you so many features.

Pros:

It is just awesome to have this on your system because this is one of the easiest and most intuitive video editing app there. Quick with there updates and narration feature is good too. It is easy on pocket so overall a great win win for you.

Cons:

some casual crashes happend but that issue could be related to the systems we are using. other than that not anything that I disliked

Cheap and Powerful!

Comments: It is generally a good tool. When you start using it. And you may feel unusual with its type of tools, but pretty soon, you learn it.

Pros:

I love the inter functionality among the tools that it brings!

Cons:

I don't like the type of HTML 5 player. You should be able to choose abetter one.

Working with Activepresenter

Comments: My students benefit - as I can build splendid presetnations and imnpoirt extra MP4s to provide a comprehensive output.

Pros:

Having used Articlulate, Storyline and ISpring =- i chose this as a bette roption - as it was apersonal expense.

Cons:

I thought perpetual license was forever and upgrqades would come with it - so I have kept to version 7.

One of the best free screen recorders

Comments: ActivePresenter is one of the best freeware tools for screen recordings. I use it quite often for demo purposes and some light video editing.

Pros:

One of the biggest advantages of ActivePresenter is that you can record only the selected area of your screen, or to record just one specific window on your machine.It has most of the editing tools, so you can post process your recorded videos, enhance their audio, or even add various effects.

Cons:

There is only one thing which is not convenient in this software is that once you pressed record, you can't change any recording settings. This is quite annoying when you want to remove your earphones during the recording. The moment you unplug, the software won't record your mic and the sound from laptop speakers. It would be great if I could change those parameters during the recording process.

One of the best

Pros:

ActivePresenter is one of the best softwares available to screen-record. I tried a few other softwares, but the results I obtained using ActivePresenter was amazing. First of all, the software is really intuitive, and can record in high quality, without any problem. But the amazing thing is I can run it on all my devices, which had some troubles in the past running similar softwares. Simply amazing!

Cons:

I like everything so far, so I have nothing to report.

Full window's screen capturing

Comments: I use this program to record myself when I am testing out websites and have to show bugs and my replication steps to get to the bugs.

Pros:

Free, pretty easy to setup and understand, and it even has a built in editor so you don't have to download a third party program to convert it to mp4. It also not only allows you to record your full windows screen but it also allows you to record yourself via webcam, with built in options to upload to twitch and other sites, at the same time so can be great for gamers

Cons:

The video editor itself can be a little confusing and you have to make sure that you save it after the recording or else you will loose the recording you just performed.

Complete and free screen recorder, with doubts

Comments: We need it for record our sessions of networking, AMAs and more, so we use it and try to keep in a original and/or native resolution all content.

Pros:

It has an extense list of options and a clean interface (with a lot of buttons), have a lot of formats, a lot of possibilities of customize your record, your video...

Cons:

Some of options doesn't seems to be optimized, as when you export your record, it takes too long for finish it. And i think could be better to minimize that too much options in a main interface.

Pros:

ActivePresenter is really easy to use thanks to its user-friendly interface, and the video quality is amazing. I really didn't expect it to have all these fuctions, it's really imprressive.

Cons:

I would love if the software had more animations to choose from, it feels like a presentation animation and I would love for something more dynamic.

Exceptionally valuable and reasonable for utilizing your congregations, giving better quality to my creation, Instinctive within the overwhelming majority of the cycles and lightweight in space on your PC, the User Interface is Excellent and gives you videos in Different formats (Mp4, AVI,MPEG)

Cons:

The video editorial manager itself can be a touch of confounding and you need to ensure that you spare it after the chronicle or, more than likely you will free the account you just performed. " the Software creators do not make adequate provision for Tutorials for beginners.

Free tool for your recording needs

Comments: I have not explored all the features of the software and I feel like there is a lot this tool can do. It suffices my requirements easily and works like a gem. Thank you!

Pros:

Active Presenter has a bunch of options. You can just record the screen with voice over / without it. You can also turn on the video. I am using it for creating user guides and video. You can easily trim the video and export in high quality. It also provides an option to show screen stimulation.

Cons:

It does take a bit of time when we export the video and at time, it has crashed maybe because the video was too large. Anyway, I love the software, I found this after going through paid software as well. If we can provide a cursor highlight, it would be great.

Very good for screen recording

Pros:

I like it because it has many good video editing features (i.e. cut, trim, crop, split, join, merge video and many more) after you record a video. Excellent for interactive software tutorials.

Cons:

Not anything too annoying, but I had to study it a little before understanding how to use it.
