Alternatives Considered:
Easy to use
Comments: Implementation was a dream. They had a team that helped us manage the project and uploaded all our content for us. As a small team, this was important.
Pros:
It transposes videos, provides full text search, allows for different groups to be created, user analysis so we know if we are getting our money's worth for the tool.
Cons:
I wish I could edit docs in the tool. But there are few cons that we have found at this point in time.
it takes time to get used to learn how to search and find answers
Comments: maybe because english is my second language but it took me almost 6 months to get used to how to search things and find things on it.
Pros:
I love the main page and how you can change it to tailored it to our needs
Cons:
sometimes it is hard to remember where the answer is and the search button and the tags are just too much. you really need to remember some key words for the search
A good platform for organization to begin their KM journey
Comments: Its been a pleasant experience overall with Bloomfire.Though scaling up the experience for multiples teams is a challenge.

Amazing Product
Pros:
I love the ease of using the product and the versatility. We call it our content google at work because that is literally what we use it for. It helps our veteran agents and the new agents all alike.
Cons:
The bookmarked tab can be a little overcrowded. I wish there was a way to organize it into separate folders.
Bloomfire ROCKS!
Comments: My school uses it as a central location for locating documents throughout the network. I mainly use it as a go to for all of my classes

ease of use, the design is organized well and works well with managing several databases and file information

User friendly, effective and adaptable!
Pros:
Bloomfire is exceptionally user friendly both for end users and back end admins. It is so easy to customise the platform, add your own content, manage users and maintain an archive of information. The Bloomfire team are always a joy to work with and offer quick, effective support.
Cons:
Some aspects can feel overly manual at times - for example we often have end users searching for content using phrases we hadn't anticipated or possibly typos. As such, the word/phrase is not connected to the post and they do not find what they are searching for. It would be great for this search to connect phrases together a little more extensively.
Great platform
Pros:
Great place to hold valuable information. Easy to work around.
Cons:
Nothing for now. Thank you for bring great and allowing us to use such a great software.

Working with Bloomfire has a been such a delight! Their team, features, functionalities and team support has greatly supported my work as a Community Leader on my team at company I work with. It's such a great Knowledge Management tool for companies!

Comments: Chief Outsiders uses Bloomfire to ensure our fractional Chief Marketing Officers and Chief Sales Officers can gain knowledge from each other as rapidly and easily as possible. Our clients get the best outcomes from us when we leverage the power of our Tribe of seasoned marketing and sales professionals, and Bloomfire makes it easy to collaborate and learn from each other - at the moment when a client situation calls for it. As a result, we can get the information we need to do a great job for a client on demand, as needed. The Bloomfire search function is essential to that expeditious learning process.
Pros:
Bloomfire’s search functionality works infinitely better than the folder/file structure of alternatives. Search does not require an understanding of the filing structure, so all users can benefit without the need for training on filing nomenclature and structure. Bloomfire makes it easier for our 110+ fractional Chief Marketing Officers and Chief Sales Officers to learn from each other as a result.
Cons:
I would love to see an integration between Bloomfire and Dropbox so that documents in Dropbox could be read by the Bloomfire engine without actually having to be moved into the Bloomfire database.

Comments: Really great! Easy to use and very intuitive! Love teaching people to fish instead of giving them the fish!
Pros:
Bloomfire is an amazing tool! We were using Sharepoint and it was clunky for saving and sharing. Adding Bloomfire to our toolbox has really helped make our team more self sufficient and allowed people to be more resourceful when they need information.

The way a knowledge base should be
Comments: As one of Bloomfire's early customers we saw a lot of potential with this platform. I was in charge of conducting a report comparing some of the available products to satisfy our need for a customer-facing knowledge base. It had to be relevant, easy to use, and fast. We had a lot of undocumented information that our customers needed with no way to provide it. Some of our most important criteria included having an API and SSO (we were going to have our users log in from our customer portal site), an easy editor, fast and powerful search, user management, reporting, and so on. Bloomfire came out on top. Fast forward a few months into using it and we were well on our way generating content, marketing the tool, and getting comfortable with the platform. I was probably the main contributor to a lot of the content, so the almost daily use of the tool caused me to find areas of improvement. I worked a bit with the Bloomfire development team with a list and I'm happy to say that today, nearly every one of my suggestions have been implemented in some way. This demonstrates the company's willingness and capabilities to adapt to their customer's needs. Their team has always been helpful and communicative and would love to see continual improvements in the future.
Pros:
Clean, easy to user interface. Enough features to still be powerful and handle lots of information, posts, questions, and media.
Cons:
At some point the cost model drastically changed from unlimited to number of users and for our company, the cost was prohibitive from expanding or growing. For other platforms that are not just a standalone knowledge base, but instead include one as a part of their services there is much more value for similar features.

Pros:
I like the idea of series, but the search is so terrible you can't find the series you need.
Cons:
It's impossible to find the article you're looking for. Unless you know the exact full title, you'll never find what you're looking for with keywords.

Our search algorithm factors in more than just the title, such as: search term frequency, contribution type, popularity, search term location, and much more. You can also boost content in your search results by using your category structure or by adding tags. Good General Product
Comments: It is a nice platform. Sometimes it is hard to follow. Update changes are a little too extreme sometimes where it is hard to catch back up to the content you are seeking, especially for those who only enter it periodically. Keep the updates to a minimum, and don't change just for the sake of change to refresh. Keep the controls simple and in the same place. Eliminate the need for a new learning curve every time something changes. The product is good, and the information is still there, but the searching and viewing gets more and more difficult with too frequent of changes you don't quickly recognize... and I am in it everyday! Maybe offer a classic view, along with your updated views when you feel the need, like Salesforce did. Change for the sake of change is not a positive thing for every day users. The updates are too frequent and clumsy.
Pros:
The search tool, and how it brings up all related material to peruse.
Cons:
Constant little adjustments in the editing and viewing field confuses daily operations. It loses it intuitiveness and speed and ease of use.
We use Bloomfire as a company intranet, it is easy to use and has great search functionality.
Comments: This software helped us get company info in one place and easily searchable.
Pros:
The search functionality is what makes this software most valuable. While it gives you the ability to organize material in many different ways, the ability to do a keyword search and find what you are looking for quickly is key.
Cons:
My least favorite thing about this software is the text editing capabilities. You are really limited format-wise when you are trying to create posts.
Overall a Good Product
Comments: Like most software, there is room for improvement but this definitely gets the job done and features a sleek, clean look that all can easily enjoy and navigate.

Cons:
The search ability and lacking ability to post to different communities from one spot - having to repost the same content across several communities with different categories and tags is cumbersome. I'd like to post from one place with different selections for each community rather than 3 different posts.

Comments: My company uses this software across all of our key clients and we have seen excellent results. Being in a virtual environment, we strive to provide a great sense of community to the businesses that need help in understanding policies or procedures or those that need extra guidance on specific topics. We are able to create this environment using Bloomfire, thanks to the great features & functionality. We upload videos, have different series that can be quickly accessed by looking for certain tag lines and are able to use the space to recognize individuals who are excelling in their client project! We love this product and our clients do too.
Pros:
The functionality and how easy it is to use on a daily basis. We are able to customize the product to fit each client's need so it can be as robust or minimalist as we need to fit their needs.
Cons:
When in the administrator mode, we sometimes have trouble when doing multiple uploads and/or edits of contents. Site may freeze and causes re-work.

Great way to get the knowledge
Comments: We use bloom fire as a knowledge base.
Pros:
Ease of use for users searching for products and information. Easy for users to upload information.
Cons:
Nothing I can think of other than I wish it had more opportunity to download some things
