About ModMed
Specialty-specific EMA® and gGastro® EHR — via tablet, browser or smartphone — speed documentation and keep the focus on patients.
It has a great user friendly back office EMR system.
The EMR and EHR connectivity with their Billing is horrible.

Great product but tricked us into paying $28K extra
Comments: I am having to pay $28K out of my pocket as a result of their verbiage "billing commencement date 120 days from contract date". They are so busy adding new clients on they don't have time to push your training so the long/ short is you have to start paying before they implement. I see no reason why we would be charged for software, patient reminders, efax, coding assistance, prescription writing capabilities, or patient surveys when we literally had zero access to it. I can understand charging a fee for the "sandbox" but we still had no access to the actual software functionality.
Pros:
We love the actual product. Cloud based services are great when you're coming from a local server/ remote situation.
Cons:
Software support has been great but it took somewhere around 6 weeks to get a response from the billing team (handles billing us, the client). The initial contract did not show any of the ancillary items that we very specifically asked about except efax. They also do not include tax on the contract so when budgeting/ making financial decisions to switch this is a bit misleading. We were lead to believe that everything that we could possibly be charged for was included. This was not the case.
Support not great
Comments: Support service is not been great. I have been waiting for a reply to get an issue resolved for several weeks and have had no resolution and no response after several emails if they were able to resolve my issue.
Pros:
User-friendly, easy-to-navigate scheduling and train new staff
Cons:
Some features are not available yet such as adding the full address to the right when it shows upcoming appts. Also would like to be able to recall more than the last 10 charts when pulling down the dropdown.

Review from Rowen McLaughlin
Comments: My experience with Mod Med has been good overall.
Pros:
That it's easy to use and user friendly!
Cons:
- Not able to send all forms to the Kiosk such as the MIPS form. (Many patients complain that there is so much to do. Would help if this could be accessed on pt portal or if we could do away in general with the MIPS due to the same questions being asked 3 different times). - Sign button on the kiosk forms could be pre-lit. - Review of symptoms not on patient portal - Would be neat if picture of meds could be taken and automatically. (We see a wide variety of elderly patients, most do not want to add their medications/complain due to a long list).

ModMed Review
Comments: I feel like I am consistently learning something new - ongoing learning
Pros:
The options available to navigate through a chart are endless - not having the proper training/tools to fully utilize the system is unnecessary wasted time
Cons:
The attachments that the patient is asked to upload from making an online appointment, but the user of EMA is not able to upload from "attachments" scanned in from the patient

The best in Dermatology
Comments: Modmed EMA allows me to work more efficiently and see more patients and spend less time documenting. Looking forward to using the upcoming AI scribe!
Pros:
The ease of use and iPad interface make documenting from anywhere in the country a breeze.
Cons:
Can't really think of any cons. They are responsive to enhancement requests and fix issue promptly.

Great on IPAD but......
Comments: It has been very convenient to flow thru the option while using the IPAD but challengeable when on the COMPUTER. The options are formatted different.
Pros:
easy to work with while using the Ipad. The Tabs specially " EYE LOG " is easier to read and manage. You can work on the patient's chart while not being glued to the seat,
Cons:
When using the computer, its harder to manage and more steps to perform. The tabs are located different.

I am a ModMed OG
Comments: We have used ModMed for nearly 11 years. It's been a good experience and they continue to improve with new products and partners, which streamline processes. We have always gotten great support and quick responses to any issues.
Pros:
Ease of use. New users are able to become proficient quickly. Existing users adapt to new releases and upgrades without any disruption to their normal flow.
Cons:
Some features are only available on the PC platform and not the iPad. But those are few. Overall, I am very happy with our choice to use ModMed EMR and PM.

Love everything but MIPS training time alotted.
Comments: very good; would recommend it to colleagues. I like the billing service, boost, too. I am still trying to navigate the inventory module. We have not really utilized it fully.
Pros:
I like how quick it is to review biopsy results and forward them to appropriate locations.
Cons:
I don't like the lack of training on the MIPS process; especially coming from another EHR and having to report from 2 EHRS. Also, they only gave me 2 hours to learn about which qualities to report on and how to chart them.

Customer Service Falls off a Cliff
Comments: With regards to the system itself, we have no issues. The features are amazing and they listen to requests for updates. It's when you have a question or concern that needs an answer that you can wait months for it (not exaggerating).
Pros:
Features and updates. They listen to their customers about what can make the system better.
Cons:
Customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. Even with our inferior previous EMR they would resolve customer concerns within a week. A simple question of whether we can get collections letters sent through our clearinghouse because we have ModMed BOOST has already been about a month with no response. Case: [sensitive content hidden]. This is unfortunately not a first time this has happened. It has been a reoccurring problem.

Medical Assistant
Comments: hands down the best app that I have used for dermatology
Pros:
love that everything is auto filled for you
Cons:
all the updates, and the down times, having to switch between practice and add on

Pretty satisfied with a few issues
Comments: Pretty good. Would recommend for comprehensive ophthalmology offices.
Pros:
That billing and writing notes are integrated. You can see exactly how much each CPT code charges, and it is easy to run financial reports and sort by many fields. I also liked how easy it is to view/modify the schedule and add time blocks.
Cons:
A few issues: 1) lack of follow up on billing. 2) scrolling is backwards/not intuitive on OCTs in image management. 3) updates/changes take a long time-I was told 2-3 years for the OCT scrolling issue. 4) You can't change which fields are "sticky" and some were made un-sticky (such as save fax to patient's chart) which is very inconvenient.

Would Recommend Time and Time Again
Comments: I have been in healthcare for over 35 years. I was among one of the first groups who implemented an EHR back in the early 2000's. ModMed is hands down the best system I have worked in.
Pros:
Easy for clinical staff to use, very intuitive. The analytics reporting tool is fabulous, you can slice and dice all sorts of information. Managing the A/R is extremely easy, especially compared to other systems I have worked in.
Cons:
ModMed has the ability to load the payer fee schedules and run variance reports. However, it does not work 100% of the time. The system configuration is somewhat limited for multi-specialties.

Good, blended EMR system
Comments: Overall, I feel it is a good system. I have used many EMRs in the past and this one is easy to use.
Pros:
It is easy to manuever and use. I like the overall body of the progress notes for patients.
Cons:
I have a difficult time with the tasks and trying to figure out who received or answered it or if it is still pending.

Modmed Review
Comments: For what it does for our practice, its ok. My only issue is the insurance verification feature.
Pros:
That we can drag and drop into patient charts instead of printing and scanning.
Cons:
The insurance verification feature doesn't work with all insurances.

4 years of ModMed User Experience
Comments: Overall, I am happy with ModMed. A few small tweaks would make it a near perfect EMR.
Pros:
Very Ipad user friendly. I like the efficiency for dermatologic issues, that commonly used prescriptions start being autopopulated.
Cons:
Desktop version is much more cumbersome for charting. Not as efficient when documenting exam findings on the computer vs ipad. I do wish templates were an option with autopopulated exam findings and prescriptions based on diagnosis template.

PATIENT CARE COORDINASTOR - FRONT DESK
Comments: The EMR is so easy to navigate for collecting patient information, payment, uploading files, and scheduling patient appointments.
Pros:
The schedule tab makes it so easy to filter doctor visits for patients and to check them in.
Cons:
I dislike that the "save" buttons are so small that I can forget to save.
