Happy we made the change!

5.0 last year

Comments: Coming from an antiquated platform over to Crossbar was a dream! The support is amazing and the features were everything that we had wanted and longed for. It produces a nice looking page and easy to use functions.

Pros:

Most functions were easy to use and intuitive. I loved the ease of the email function and ability to add links and photos, resulting in an attractive final product. Also having the app functions was a great addition from our last platform. Our parents loved the ability to view the roster and the chat function proved vital.

Cons:

We encountered a small learning curve, but the support staff was always quick to answer our questions.

Alternatives Considered: SportsEngine

Reasons for Choosing Crossbar: We needed something up to date with more features and functions that we did not have in our old platform. It was clunky and antiquated. Did not look nice nor function great.

Reasons for Switching to Crossbar: We have a multisport cross over and this was a nice looking, easy to use product that some had experience with in the other sport.

Great tool for sports management!!!

4.0 8 months ago

Comments: We love Crossbar and we know improvements are coming to help in the areas it may lack. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. Price is great! Support is great!

Pros:

It looks very modern and professional. Very user friendly for setup and use. Support has been awesome and one of the main reasons I would suggest to others. [sensitive content hidden] is great!!

Cons:

There are a lot of good help documents but they are very high level and could be detailed out more with different scenarios. Examples from other organizations for different sports would be VERY helpful so users can setup based on someone else's experiences to save time and energy.

Alternatives Considered: TeamSnap, GameChanger and SportsEngine

Reasons for Choosing Crossbar: It was being sold and converted to SportsEngine (I think). But it was very old technology and very pricey and not user friendly.

Switched From: SportsEngine

Reasons for Switching to Crossbar: Price, look and feel, usability, and word of mouth that support is great.

Thanks for reaching out to my email box!

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: The whole process has been super easy and the staff have always been available to help. I love the chat function, and I have used it many times.
[sensitive content hidden] makes herself available to me and my board members and walks us through set ups slowly and works hard to make our needs accomplishable.

Pros:

Ease of use. [sensitive content hidden] is always so pleasant and walks me through things I don't understand.

Cons:

I can't think of any right now. We only started using this a couple weeks ago.

Alternatives Considered: Sports Connect

Reasons for Choosing Crossbar: Boathouse Connect took up way too much time working with individuals, correctly errors that members made when registering and we spent quite a bit of money on errors that could have been avoided.

Switched From: Boatyard

Reasons for Switching to Crossbar: It had the functions that we needed and if there was something that was not 'normal' for Crossbar then they figured out how to make it work for us.

Winning with Crossbar

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: From purchase to implementation the people at Crossbar were top notch. The software works great and their development team listens to their users.

Pros:

Easy to use website for my end users. Easy to program for an admin and the volunteer function is top notch.

Cons:

A few small items that could be more tailored to our org like using hours for volunteer functionality instead of instances.

Alternatives Considered: TeamLinkt, GameChanger, LeagueApps, SportsEngine and Jersey Watch

Reasons for Choosing Crossbar: Functionality and Volunteer management were ahead of the competition.

Switched From: SportsEngine

Reasons for Switching to Crossbar: Volunteer functionally and streamline registration and team management.

Pros:

Crossbar gives us one place the house all the information. Our team needs on a daily and weekly basis.

The only thing we don’t like about Crossbar is there’s no ability to have a chat function for just the players and coaches

Crossbar Pros and Cons

5.0 8 months ago

Pros:

Crossbar is very easy to use and administer. Our members seem to manage through it easily and are happy with our switch.

Cons:

We were first told that the fees incurred by our members for using crossbar could not be transferred to our members - that we, as a company, would need to pay the user/transaction fees. Later we were told that we actually could transfer the fees to the members but for whatever reason it still has not been set up this way even though we asked for this from the very beginning. This makes it difficult for out non-profit to charge our team registration fees seeing as we also need to add onto that some sort of transaction fee so we do not eat all of the costs to utilize crossbar.

Great Club Management Platform for Track/Cross-Country Clubs

5.0 last year

Comments: I highly recommend using the Crossbar system. It has made our workload easier and more user friendly, which is really important for training purposes as our management changes over time. This will ensure that our club remains viable for many years to come.

Pros:

Crossbar has vastly improved the way we work, by helping with our efficiency, communications, and volunteer management. It’s very user friendly, visually pleasing, cost effective, with ongoing customer support. Crossbar has all the features we need to run our club, which has reduced the administration time needed to complete necessary tasks. Communications between our staff and members has reached a whole new level with the mobile app. It has been life changing! Teams can now communicate easily in real time rather than relying on emails, which may not be read in a timely manner. Volunteer management has been a game changer! It is efficient and user friendly for the administrators as well as the members. Our website has a much more professional look to it now, is super easy to update, and we don’t have to reinvent the wheel when switching from track to cross country season and back again. With a few small changes each season, we can re-publish items quickly to keep the site current. Now, I can easily train anyone to run our website with ease and it can be updated from a computer, tablet, or phone in an instant. Last, but not least is our praise of the customer support. It is phenomenal!! From demo day to present day, they have been very responsive and helpful. They do an amazing job of training and are available to help every step of the way. They are very receptive to feedback for improving the user experience and are quick to work with me to resolve any issues that arise.

Cons:

I like the fact that the platform can track volunteer hours, but it still needs some work. It gets a bit confusing when you have to manually adjust hours. There is also a glitch where it sometimes splits the family hours between a few athletes in the same family, so the totals are broken up. I have alerted the team and they are working to resolve this.

Stetson FA/SVSC

Comments: very positive

Pros:

Customer Service - [sensitive content hidden] is awesome.

Cons:

The team chat feature. There needs to be a separate feed for announcements, schedules, etc. That would allow the coach/admin to put info out and then basically ignore the team chat. A MUTE button would be great to cut someone off from being able to post in the team chat if they get out of line.

You Won't Regret the Switch to Crossbar!

5.0 last year

Comments: Our lacrosse club switched to Crossbar because our old site was very dated and hard to use. Many sports leagues in our area have apps with the team schedule, contact information and a team chat. Players can also indicate their availability for practices and games. Parents are busy and appreciate the convenience of a one stop shop for their kids sports information.

Pros:

The Crossbar platform is easy to use for administrators and parents. The customer support team is amazing. They were always available to answer any questions. Setting up a registration is super simple. Our parents and coaches loved the app.

Cons:

I would like the ability to email all coaches (head and assistant) along with the families. When we have changes to our schedule I need to email our coaches separately from my personal email account as I am not able to access them with the player's contact information. We would also like the ability to issue refunds on our players accounts. From a bookkeeping perspective this would be much easier than mailing them a check. Our coaches would like the ability to send emails to players using the newsletter format available to administrators.

Crossbar Review

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: Crossbar has been great and I will continue to use all my websites with.

Pros:

The ease of the website. The app that comes with it is very helpful for my academy. The fact I can control my website and make it look great is cost effective because it is very easy to navigate.

Cons:

Getting customer service in a timely manner. The customer service is great but is really hard to get someone to help in a more instant moment.

MO Hockey Youth Division and Blue Note Cup Tournament Use of Crossbar

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: It has been wonderful to have active support and a system that is much more user freindly both to the admisnitrators and all of our users.

Pros:

Crossbar eliminated a lot of the hassels we had with our old system. The support we received setting everything up was fantastic. We have converted our regular season league operations to Crossbar and have also moved complete operation of our Blue Note Cup Championship tournament to the system. Corrbar was able to schedule the tournament and work around some of our specific needs and the support staff was there at all times.

Cons:

Like any system there are little things that are different but once we got used to the operation I don't think there is anything significant we would change that we have not already put into place.

Worth the Change

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: The customer service is TOP NOTCH!!!!

Pros:

The product is clean, easy to use and looks great. Registration is a breeze and there are so many great features including the schedule, ease of subscribing to family calendar, and sending out communications to the club or smaller groups.

Cons:

There are some features missing, in particular in the app. I wish there was love scoring in the app as well as a way to send communications out to the team and club level easily via email. On the website, it would be nice to be able to delete events not pertaining to me (or my child) but that’s not possible.

Good overall service

Pros:

Cross Bar website is fairly intuitive and straightforward to set up for our hockey program. Whenever we need additional support, the Cross Bar team has been very responsive to our needs.
