What was presented as a fast, reliable transfer turned into delays, confusion, and extremely frustrating customer support with them not only repeatedly requesting additional banking and incorporation documents but repeatedly saying I had not provided it, even though I sent it in more than once. I never did receive fund and was stranded on the highway with it looking like we were going to miss Christmas with our family. My funds were held up without clear explanation, timelines kept changing, and getting accurate information from support was not forthcoming even when they transferred me to a Manager. This created unnecessary stress, especially since money transfers are time sensitive and require trust. While Remitly markets speed and reliability, my experience did not reflect that at all. After 6 days I finally gave up and am now using Wise. Transparency was lacking with Remitly, and the resolution process felt slow and impersonal. Unfortunately i didn't register to receive online statements from my bank and i didn't have any. I sent them pay slips as means on income, and they didn't take that. The only was was to cancel the transaction, and their refund process takes approximately 10 days. I'm still waiting for my money up to now. My worry is, why request for such critical information, which has a possibility of breaking the deal when you have deducted money from my account? When i cant proceed with the transaction you tell of a 10 waiting period to refund, does that make sense? They took 10 days to refund even if you cancel the transaction when the amount is not deducted from your account. > > I transferred the money to wrong account so I called to customer service for help within 24 hours. They updated me that I can cancel my transaction as the amount was not deducted from my bank account. Else it will be refunded in 2-3 working days. So I proceed with cancelling the transfer. I waited 4-5 days and contacted remitly customer support for my transaction and they updated like it will take 10 days to get refund. I had urgency as I wanted to send money to my parents back home. I would never suggest anyone to go with remitly. They just want to earn with your money in investing.
