Game day gamers

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: It is a great software for families who love games and sports

Pros:

I like that I can pick multiple games to play and it has an option to pay for better experience for this software.

Cons:

The least thing I liked was the internet glitching issue. Which is now fixed so I am satisfied with the outcome.

Lots of quirks, like any platform

4.0 3 years ago

Pros:

The financial reporting side of GameDay is straightforward to report from, easily reconciling to our bank account. Extracting data to use in other software (excel reports that run macros) is straightforward. Unlike many databases, we can pretty much drag as much information from this database as we like. I really like the communications option - makes it easy to shoot an email to the team when forfeits need to be notified. Flexibility of data fields (customisable)

Cons:

The sms / text aspect of comms is impenetrable. Lots of data fields, not all accessible through the advanced search - specifically, including parents in information mailouts then receiving requests to remove email addresses: cannot find them (as they are 2ndary email addresses) Does not work well with Firefox The website editor is impenetrable & difficult to learn or manage We tried to work with GameDay for APIs/LED screen scoreboard but they were very cagey about working with 3rd parties (that was in 2013) (note that we have used this software for years as a "super user" and have adopted all the workarounds, so many issues that would be difficult for newer users we are used to working around)

Overly complex sledgehammer to tap in a nail

2.0 2 years ago

Comments: It's a love hate relationship. It runs our basketball competitions and registrations, but it's so time intensive and difficult to make it work, just to get it to do the simplest things, I'm certain we'd be better off with a paper system.

Pros:

It has good bones if only everything would work successfully or easily the first time.

Cons:

This platform is so flakey, so unreliable, so problematic for administrators and users that it's virtually unusable. You virtually need a degree to run the back end correctly, and small clubs like ours run only by volunteers tear their hair out with how complex and time consuming it is to do the simplest things. I can see where the intention is good, but this program is like an initial good idea from 15yrs ago that has grown like spaghetti since and now is a pretty big mess. For a huge organisation with 3 full time paid staff who have learned from hard experience how to make it work, yeah I can see its a good tool. But for volunteer clubs where new people have to learn it year in and year out, it's a nightmare. We can't trust it, most can't use it for basic functions. Only true experts can figure out how to setup a season. The team and player functionality is rubbish. This platform is ok when you're an expert, but unworkable if you're a layperson.

NEW MEMBERSHIP DB PLATFORM for AUF members

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Fairly easy to use and navigate. Some of our members forget to put in the dob correctly. This maybe could be an easier process?

Pros:

Easy access to names/members and what they signed up, as had been set up for them.

Cons:

Would like to be able to use Tabular Report via a pre-set up Excel spreadsheet download for the columns I use as we offer membership cards. Have to download then go through and delete the columns I don't use. A template with what I require would be beneficial. I would like the numbering ID available again. It was available, and now dropped off. I have to manually add. This represents our AUF membership number basically.

Game Day Review

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: An average experience with GameDay. support is not readily available and its an expensive piece of software that eats into our profits as a sporting club. the fees per transaction are 4% however Square are only 1.9% over a long period we lose $$.

Pros:

As a sporting organisation i like the ability to setup events within gameday. it allows members to register for events during the year.

Cons:

the addition of products/fees to events is difficult and i have been informed that a particular product that our members pay for can't be added to the event platform which is what we use. The overall look of the event portal is quite dated and difficult to use. selection of images as a background can be a problem if not already in the correct format. extracting financial records is also difficult there are limited filters. the cost of game day is expensive as opposed to other payment portals.

Membership database & events

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: I generally believe it to be worthwhile and just wish others could learn to appreciate the benefits.

Pros:

It brought the sport onto a National membership database, which could be managed at Individuals, Club, State and National levels.

Cons:

General uptake across the (volunteer) organsiation has been sporadic - some believe they know better systems and effectively refuse to anything but the bare minimum. The ability to create a group email to an organisation (rather than an individual member's email) is a drawback (it means creating another offline list to provide those communications.

Not Happy

3.0 3 years ago

Comments: Reports were extremely involved and difficult to work out needs to be simplified.
Delays for Members processing payments.
No feed back if an unpaid amount goes through or not.
No response from Help Desk.

Pros:

No correct alpha order and lack of response. also that our Members were finding a delay in being able to get into the system. Main reason why we used you.

Cons:

The fact that it does not file correct ALPHA order ( Surname )

It allows us to get information to our players

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Its ben great to get the info out there. it is deteriorating & we will be looking at what else is out there

Pros:

Easy to access for anybody with a smartphone. We are a bowling club, with most users above the age of 60. Players get a push notification whenever there is news.

Cons:

Ads are crippling the app & ruining it fro our players. Most are not computer literate, but can use a phone. The ads have become more invasive recently, taking over the screen for a certain amount of time. Previously they were there but were static, & did not take control of your phone

would like API access

3.0 3 years ago

Comments: GameDay is the system we have to use as a member club of a sporting competition. But it is useful in member management to produce contact list reports.

Pros:

As a member club, we have no choice but to use it. But it is fairly customisable and does most of what is needed

Cons:

I would like API access to set up to be able to connect to our player statistics using other software

GameDay is Disapppointing

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: Disappointing changes to new upgrade. Previous version was easier to navigate and very user friendly.

Pros:

The date scrolling makes it easy to get to future matches

Cons:

Since the total rebuild of the software it has developed the following faults: Cannot see all active teams I follow Cannot follow as many teams as before so need multiple apps to do the same thing Layout is clunky, previous one was easier to navigate Not enough of the points table is visible in landscape mode. Too many buttons in the way making it very small

A truly awful piece of software

1.0 3 years ago

Comments: Very poor

Pros:

It's really hard to think of a single good thing to say about the product

Cons:

Awful user interface. Reporting feature is painful to use. Registration process doesn't capture mandatory data resulting in inconsistent records.

Has Become More Integral in our Administration

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: The system has steadily improved in the 10+ years I've used the system - and the amount we use it has increased alongside this extra functionality

Pros:

Marrying competition management with a membership database, and linking directly into Glory League are the main benefits which apply to us

Cons:

It would be great if it had a few more FIBA specific options (tiebreakers in ladders for example)

Buggy app with poor customer support

2.0 3 years ago

Pros:

Hard to say, I can't think of a single feature that works well. There are some good ideas, just poorly implemented.

Cons:

A lot. The GameDay app is riddled with bugs and design flaws. I have personally reported issues that are yet to be resolved more than 24 months after reporting them. The app design team need to spend more time with end users to understand how the app could function better in real-world scenarios - at the very least listen to the customer feedback reviews posted in Google Play.

As a user

1.0 3 years ago

Comments: Not good

Pros:

None - I don't see any pros at all in this system - it was obviously good at the time but ads are just a nightmare

Cons:

It is almost unusable on a computer to use because of the pop ups on the screen. I'm so happy we have transitioned to Play HQ. For the last 2 years it has been so frustrating to get scores for football out of the system - even now the Sydney Show takes up half the screen.

Sporting club review

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall GameDay is easy to use and I have either been able to teach myself how to use most things on the website or have found the answers in the help section. I do find it quite easy to navigate which is good.

Pros:

The best part of this software is that sporting results are updated quickly and we can view scores from all our club's teams daily and weekly.

Cons:

As a club, it would be good to access all team's scores as easily on the app as you can on the website. Unless you follow a team on the app, you can't view their scores etc.

Ease of use

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: we have been given this product by our governing body and we have to use it to affiliate with this body

Pros:

note sure as an administrator and accountant it isnt a logical product to allow us to see membership types dissect payments etc

Cons:

inflexibility and inability for members to administer their own accounts setting up products is cumbersome and whilst it has a copy feature if you use this you loses the data for the prior period

GameDay for a football club

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall GameDay is good software and does fit with what we do. We do under utilise the product as we don't use the Website nor communication modules available.

Pros:

Overall the product is easy to use and functionality is good. You are able to maintain your registrations easily and produce team sheets for each game without many issues

Cons:

This product is good and can produce all sorts of reports and data which can be useful. The ease of accessing this data is a bit clunky and could be improved.

Game Changer review

4.0 3 years ago

Pros:

I like the fact that we can keep open and live communication and scheduling for the complete season between teams, staff and parents/players

Cons:

The only small issue I have is that the app is US calendar only meaning here in Australia the seasonal setups for our teams here are back to front which confuses everybody. EG Winter 2021 - 22 (Here is Australia that would be Summer 2021-22)

Game Day Overview for the Ellinbank & District Football League

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Nothing insurmountable

Pros:

Easy to use. Easy to switch between categories that were well laid out & self explanatory (ie Membership database, Result area & Websites). Visually appealing to find what you are looking for.

Cons:

Within Website it was a tad hard to add & subtract and move files in the widget area
