About Affinity Photo
Image editing tool that provides features including panorama stitching, HDR merge, focus stacking, PSD editing and more.
Actually very easy to use, and a great alternative to its subscription-based alternatives. It has a lot of features, and you can manipulate psd files without issues.
The "personas" are a bit confusing for me but I am able to get done what I need to as a cover designer.

A powerful photo editor with a great potential
Comments: My overall experience with Affinity Photo is very positive. I really like the one-off payment option. It's a cheap and powerful photo editor but there's still room for a lot of improvements.
Pros:
Affinity Photo has a clean user interface. It's also relatively lightweight and has many powerful features such us raw file editing, multi platform support, customizable interface and many more.
Cons:
I wish there was a better tool for handling shadows, vignettes and bokeh effects.
Alternatives Considered:
Powerful software without subscription
Comments: I use Affinity Photo a lot for developing raw images, creating images and refining images. It is a fast and powerful software that can do almost everything. Only generative AI tools are missing.
Pros:
Extremely powerful program for photo editing. Almost everything can be done with Affinity Photo. Real competitor to Adobe Photoshop. One-time payment has big advantages over subscription model.
Cons:
Generative AI tools of Adobe Photoshop are very helpful. Sadly, Affinity Photo does not offer any of these. Inpainting brush is slightly worse than Photoshop. Adobe Lightroom capabilities would be nice as well.
Cheap and effective solution to editing RAW and PSD files
Comments: Had a great experience with Affinity I still use it from time to time for my marketing graphics for my car dealership. Definitely one of my favorite tools in my toolbox.
Pros:
As stated in the title it is a cheap and effective way to edit RAW and PSD files on the go without paying for adobes monthly subscription fees. I like how it is customizable toolbars and you can setup shortcuts to hop to features you need to us. It runs very smooth on my desktop and laptop with mid-grade specs.
Cons:
I feel some of the features are a bit outdated compared to photoshop, it takes a bit longer to do the same thing I could do in gimp/adobe.
Powerful and Affordable Photo Editing for Professionals
Comments: Overall, Affinity Photo is a fantastic, professional-grade photo editor that meets the needs of most designers and photographers. It’s a powerful, budget-friendly alternative for those who want high-quality results without recurring fees.
Pros:
Affinity Photo has been an amazing addition to my digital toolkit for creating genealogy templates and family history projects. It offers nearly everything you’d expect from Photoshop but with a much more affordable one-time purchase, which is ideal for small business owners like myself who want professional tools without monthly fees. Affinity Photo excels in handling complex edits and photo manipulations, with tools for retouching, advanced layering, and masking. The interface is intuitive, especially for anyone familiar with Adobe, and it integrates seamlessly with Affinity Publisher, which is a huge plus for my projects. The performance is consistently fast and smooth, even with high-resolution images.
Cons:
While Affinity Photo covers most needs, a few niche features like automatic plugins aren’t as extensive as Photoshop’s, so there can be some limitations if you rely heavily on specific plugins.
Complete and very affordable
Comments: I enjoy using Affinity Photo and Affinity designer, both are great alternatives to Photoshop and Illustrator. Even if Affinity Photo is not perfect, the pricing remains its most attractive quality. The tools are not perfect and there is a learning curve if you come from Photoshop but Serif is doing a great job and their Workbooks are a great starting point to learn the rope. I highly recommend buying it as we never know prices might go up some day.
Pros:
- Amazing value, the pricing is really low if you consider the features that are packed. - Great alternative to Photoshop - Many tools and file support formats
Cons:
- The project file formats are Affinity file formats, I understand some file formats are proprietary but it make sharing a project file complicated it you do not own Affinity Photo. - The interface sometimes gets slow and noticed a lot of CPU usage, not sure if it is my old Macbook or bad coding. I know that softwares are usually optimized for latest computers but feel Affinity is a bit memory hogging.
99% of the functionality of Photoshop, but as a great value perpetual licence
Comments: I'm still getting used to Affinity Photo, but it's been a very positive experience thus far, and a refreshing change from Adobe Photoshop.
Pros:
The biggest and most important thing to know about Affinity Photo is that it's almost as good as Photoshop, but uses a perpetual licence. Depending on your exact usage scenario, it can cost you about the same to buy Affinity Photo outright, as to 'rent' Adobe Photoshop for 2½ months.
Cons:
At time of writing, there are very few AI features built in to Affinity Photo.
Affinty Photo gives Photoshop a run for it's money
Comments: It is very good, with timely updates and I'm able to my get my work done just like when I had Photoshop.
Pros:
I like that it's like Photoshop but half the price and it has a perpetual license.
Cons:
I was a little bummed it doesn't have a filter library, but it's not that bad that I wouldn't recommend it.
Image in that.
Comments: It's great. I've had no problems doing simple and complex image editing and manipulation tasks.
Pros:
It's fully featured and is a one-off purchase. It's great that you can also open Affinity Designer files in it too and vice versa.
Cons:
Haven't come across anything that I don't like about it yet.
Ditch PS. Affinity is what you need.
Pros:
First, price point wins all day long. Not only are you not having to remortgage your house, the program is so much more user friendly, so easy to download and set up, free stock, no need to sign up for 44 different things. Affinity is everything PS wants to be.
Cons:
The odd time, you have to dig for a feature that's front of eye in other programs. Key commands are sometimes a bit different

A good alternative to photoshop
Comments: Nevertheless, I love affinity photo, I use it daily and I've learned to work with its problems. It's an affordable piece of software, and since version 2, it's been offering some particularly interesting features. It doesn't yet compete with Adobe Photoshop, but it's getting closer.
Pros:
Affinity photo's interface is quick and easy to learn. The business model is interesting, with a one-time payment system (no subscriptions). It includes many of the same functions as Photoshop, making it suitable for a wide range of users.
Cons:
On the other hand, Affinity isn't perfect: it's not optimized for Windows, and lags and bugs are common, even on powerful computers. Another particularly disconcerting point is its layer management, which is totally at odds with the competition. For example, there is no notion of a locked layer, which can prove problematic.
Affinity Photo User Friendly and Highly Recommended
Comments: I have used it for my photography and it meets all of my needs!
Pros:
I love the section that allows me to edit RAW photos, it opens RAW photos automatically in the DEVELOP section. It opens RAWs of any brand of camera. Canon, Nikon, Pentax, etc.
Cons:
The software doesn't have a Lightroom like Adobe Photoshop.
Beautiful and powerful
Comments:
We tried the app as soon as it was presented and shortly after we decided that, despite some missing features of the first versions, it would become our image editing software.
After years we do not regret the choice: the workflow runs fast and there are no limits.
The app is constantly developing also on the reports of us users.
No limits, very fast.
Pros:
UI and UX are the best, not for nothing the software has earned some design awards. Resources consumption is very good, so making changes and editing will be faster.
Cons:
In my option, the very lost feature is a fully compatibility with Adobe PS smart objects: we can use embedded files as a an alternative.
Affinity is a legitimate Photoshop competitor at a fraction of the price and no ongoing costs.
Pros:
Affinity Photo is a competent alternative to Adobe Photoshop, and one that does so with a cheap initial purchase price and no ongoing subscription costs. I have found that everything I have needed to do in Photoshop can be done in Affinity, however sometimes the workflow is slightly different so taking a short training course it's definitely worth it. Affinity seems a lot faster and less buggy than Photoshop in a lot of areas. There are also some places in which Affinity Photo is better than Photoshop. For example, Affinity gives a preview of the effect the tool selected will do to the image so you can get it perfect before committing to any modifications. Additionally, having separate personas that you choose depending on what you wish to do to the image helps cut down on clutter and allows you to focus better.
Cons:
I haven't experienced any issues with the software, with the only negative being that if you are accustomed to another piece of software it can take some time to adjust. It can be difficult to find tutorials, and unless you are willing to pay money for a course there is a lot of trial and error.
Affinity photo overview
Comments: Overall its an excellent photo editing tool that I use daily.
Pros:
The app totaly integrates with the M1 chip power and the editing tools are way more precise than Photoshops.
Cons:
It can be little tricky in the begining until you learn all the tools.
An Attractive Alternative to Photoshop
Comments: Affinity Photo is an excellent choice for freelance graphic designers seeking a capable and budget-friendly alternative to Photoshop
Pros:
Familiar interface, powerful features, and an appealing one-time price
Cons:
Some Photoshop-specific tools are missing, and compatibility with certain plugins can be limited
Alternatives Considered:
Photo retouching
Comments: it's a more practical tool that allows me to save time when editing photos
Pros:
it's a complete and easy-to-use tool for photo retouching, offering basic and advanced functionalities in terms of image cropping and clipping.
Cons:
it remains an easy-to-use tool for beginners and professionals alike, but the advanced settings need to be reviewed in terms of slowness.

Affinity Photo
Comments: I use almost image work with Affinity Photo. This wonderful application can co work with Affinity Designer for every design work process like Pixel to Vector. Even need to fix and feature, Perpetual License and Low product price is Big merit. Most of all, the result of this products are good for serious project.
Pros:
1 : No Subscription Policy. It's perfect perpetual license and price is low. 2 : Fast navigate and can handling big project. I have done one massive composition file over 10 Giga and it works. 3 : external plug-in compatible. i use neat image photoshop plug-in with affinty photo without any problem. 4 : Panorama and stack (include astrophotography) feature is excellent. 5 : Refine feature. This process made me spend less effort and time to make mask from fuzzy object.
Cons:
1 : User can't change scratch disk. if you face "disk full error" you can't proceed until empty you system disk. Let user change or add external disk as scratch disk option need. 2 : Selecting layer from working screen is very frustrating. It means can't select wanted layer among overlapped layers with right click list checking. User must find in layer palette. this is horrible when many layer project. 3 : Little bit training need to using mask workflow. newbie user confusing when work with mask layer. also, I hope to let user enable transform separately with mask. 4 : No Batch RAW processing. 5 : No response to user's question.
Fast, efficient, efficient. Affinity Photo, the Solution for your photo editing.
Pros:
positive point of Affinity Photo is that it is interoperable with photoshop but also with certain Adobe formats. Affinity photo, for example, opens any PSD file taken out of Photoshop, which allows a smooth transition from one software to another. Especially since the very similar and optimized interface allows a quick start. Certainly, some functions may be missing, but all those present are linked by macros and are often much more accessible than in Photoshop. It's awesome.Aldo, big blow in the market is that it probably has the best value for money!
Cons:
Despite a generally successful application, I have already had to deal with some problems in relation to the stability of the software. Indeed the latter has some problems of lags and untimely closures. Nothing recurring, but it can happen. The last negative point that I note on the suite offered by Serif Europe is the absence of certain features present at Adobe. The deformation and pattern creation tools are currently not present in the software, but it may only be a matter of time given the frequency of updates to the Affinity suite.

An affordable alternative to Photoshop
Comments: Affinity Photo is a great inexpensive Adobe Photoshop alternative, which offers most of the same features at a fraction of the price. It is ideal for casual use, when an expensive Creative Cloud subscription doesn't seem viable. If you're familiar with Photoshop, you will also be able to learn Affinity Photo quickly and be up and running in no time.
Pros:
Affinity Photo is a great alternative to Photoshop. It is very inexpensive with a one-time fee to own the software outright being less than half a year of an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. While it doesn't have all of the features of Photoshop, it has at least 90% of the features, which is enough to do almost everything you need for graphic design and photo editing. The interface is similar also, so there is not much of a learning curve. There are also great tutorials available to help you get up and running quickly.
Cons:
It doesn't have all the same features as Photoshop, but for the price, it is still excellent value. I'd also like to be able to purchase the Affinity Photo Desktop Workbook as a PDF version, instead of only as a hardcover book.

A real alternative to Photoshop
Comments: I’ve been very impressed. If you don’t want to pay into Adobe’s subscription service, this is a real alternative.
Pros:
Not having a monthly subscription, the cheap cost, ease of setup. Nearly all Photoshop functions are available for a tiny fraction of the cost. It runs very well on my Mac.
Cons:
The documentation can be a bit sparse. Some features of Photoshop aren’t available. Having a simple “Save for Web” function is a big loss.
The best photo editor at one time cost.
Comments: It was a better alternative for us to reduce costs, since we were previously on a subscription-based tool. We can still manipulate the old psd files.
Pros:
Actually very easy to use, and a great alternative to its subscription-based alternatives. It has a lot of features, and you can manipulate psd files without issues.
Cons:
Changing over took some time, but once you learn how to use it you won't go back.
Exactly what you need it for, it does
Pros:
Feels familiar enough to make the jump from Photoshop. For me it's a perfect fit to mock up/change up images really quickly.
Cons:
Seems to take longer to start up these days. But that's a small issue.

Inexpensive Yet Just As Good As Other Premium Photo Editors
Pros:
Affinity Photo is an affordable and effective way to edit image files on the go. It offers users the ability to process photos without having to invest in a subscription with a lock-in contract. This is a huge plus for me!
Cons:
AI background removal can be rather tricky to achieve. There is a bit of a learning curve to overcome, but, easily achieved with the abundance of documentation and tutorials.
Photo review
Pros:
The affinity designer software is very easy to use and allows you to create images and more on a touch screen
Cons:
No drawbacks noticed on this software, everything pleases me, I recommend
A great alternative for Photoshop
Pros:
I'm new to the photo editing hobby and wanted something similar to Photoshop but at a better cost. Affinity photo was the perfect solution to that! I love that it features basically everything that Photoshop does but at a fraction of the price. Nice interface, smooth interactions, and very accessible on my iPad
Cons:
There's a pretty steep learning curve when getting started with this software. I had only minimal photoshop knowledge, and figured that this app would have some tutorials or walkthroughs to help me on my editing journey. I was able to find some on YouTube but would have preferred some examples on the app instead.
