About Microsoft OneNote
Microsoft OneNote is a fully functional digital note taking application which can be used to organize, share and collaborate on ideas.
Like the rest of Microsoft Office, OneNote has a ton of features and integration with existing Microsoft software, making going between programs like excel and word nearly seamless.
Once you build that “universe,” it can become very complicated to navigate. Sometimes I forget how I got to the place I originally set up and it can be frustrating.

OneNote drives productivity among our project team with its incredible note-taking experience.
Comments: I'm quite satisfied with the overall functionality & the work management achieved thanks to OneNote's robust data-handling & collaboration capabilities. Furthermore, the software pioneers in its flexible note-sharing options where notes can either be shared as files of different formats or as accessible links. That said, I'm gaining a whole lot of features from an out-of-the-box free-of-charge software is more than enough reason to compel any user to at least give it a try.
Pros:
OneNote is like a virtual whiteboard that collectively stores our ideas, tasks & file attachments of our current & accomplished construction projects in a singular platform accessible anywhere across any device. The user interface is generally butter-smooth & works amazingly well in split-screen mode on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra phone using the S-Pen to jot notes & drag photos & files from the file manager or gallery to the OneNote application. It's a productivity-centric utility that's practically indispensable for my daily tasks.
Cons:
As of the 22H2 Windows 10 update on my laptop, I've started noticing notes take a bit longer to synchronize my work in order to resume collaboration with the project team. I hope this gets resolved in a future software update on Windows. The mobile & web versions work great though.

Good Notes taking tool but must be use carefully
Comments: Excellent note tool for personal use.
Pros:
Great note taking tool with great features to personalize the note. Also the features to link the files to the notes is awesome. The tool as a great integration with Microsoft Teams.
Cons:
There is so much features in that tool that using it in a company can create operation issues because some users have a tendancy of using it to almost replace word, excel and even sometime Planner and SharePoint list and create conflict in processes internally. If you allow access to use for users, I recommend that internal trainings and monitoring of the tool be applied.
Always weak on version history and restoration, now it's abysmal. Go at your own risk!
Comments: Onenote promises to be a great collaboration tool, especially integrated into Teams, but unfortunately, falls short of the mark in the most sensitive of areas, synchronization, back up, version history and restore across multiple users and platforms. On more than one occasion Onenote has lost whole sections of pages in the synch process across platforms and users. Sections that simply disappeared even from the restore and deleted pages sections. That's weeks of labor with clients who are no longer available for that portion of the project work.
Pros:
Interface is fantastic. Collaboration across users was great. But with Android, Teams, Desktop and Web versions, significant behind-the-scenes back up, synchronization, and restoration have all been dangerously degraded.
Cons:
Back up, restore and version history features, including sharing pages, have all been degraded functions making Onenote extremely vulnerable to crashes and data loss. Now, the tools only work reliably for the single user on a single machine.

Experience in using OneNote for over 3 years daily
Pros:
OneNote is an easy to use app for notes taking and sharing. One of the advantages is that it is integrated with Outlook that you can create tasks on OneNote, and it will be created the same task in Outlook automatically. Another advantage is that you don't have to save the information you input into OneNote manually, the app will save all the changes you made and sync them with the folder in your harddiske or OneDrive. With this function, you don't need to concern of any unsaved information .
Cons:
When the notebook you created in OneNote gets bigger in size, it happens all the time that the app will not be responding, and it seems like that there is no solution for it. I really hope that MIcrosoft will fix this problem soon. It's been always a nightmare when the app isn't responding while i'm heavily relied on this app for recording all my tasks and activities with customers.
Quick and well cataloged notes
Pros:
It helps you keep track of your notes through a convenient interface. In this interface sections can be easily named and creates (sections are containers which contain one or more pages where to store informations you want).
Cons:
Being online there is always a little fear that something will happen and documents will be lost because they do not physically reside on your PC. It is possible to save the contents using the export function but it is not possible to do so for all the sections, you must export section by section one at a time.
Organise Your Thoughts Seamlessly with Microsoft OneNote
Comments: Microsoft OneNote stands as a powerful, versatile note-taking tool suitable for various personal and professional applications. the overall experience with OneNote is positive, providing an efficient and creative platform for capturing and organising ideas.
Pros:
Whether you're in a meeting, conducting research, or brainstorming ideas, OneNote provides an intuitive interface to jot down text, draw, add images, and even record audio notes, accommodating various learning and thinking styles. Links well with other 365 products and allows collaboration and sharing easily.
Cons:
New users might feel overwhelmed initially, especially when exploring advanced functionalities like tags, templates, and integration with other Microsoft services.
One Note Review- Great Task Management Tool
Comments: Overall it was very useful and helpful and we used it weekly, almost every day. Great for task management, and a crucial tool for it. It does need to be improved with how fast it loads though since its so important, crashing or taking a while to load can affect one's work and overall experience of the tool.
Pros:
Loved the ease of use and dependability on it for task management. We were able to create many project pages for all our templates and working sessions. Very good for cross-collaboration for our team and to track the status of our work and projects.
Cons:
Sometimes it would glitch or take AWHILE to load. This could be very frustrating as we were all very busy and depended on it to see what action items needed to be completed.
OneNote’s Events Use
Comments: Does exactly what I want it to do, personally give it 5* due to this fact, and have never really found documents too much of an issue. Just it being a Microsoft app means it’s installed on lots of devices as standard.
Pros:
Love the way that you can separate Notebooks in OneNote, great way to differentiate, and have breakdowns with the chapters and pages, which as mentioned are fairly good at being searchable.
Cons:
The document storage. It’s a shame that you can’t upload a file and it acts as its own page which can open in a separate window, instead it will display badly and just act as a static image. Unfortunate but understandable considering it’s main usecases
OneNote is a great cross-platform product
Pros:
Easy to use and set-up. Generally comes with Office/Microsoft 365 package. Staff were able to get up and running quickly.
Cons:
Microsoft OneNote, although easy to use, has some features that are not obvious or intuitive. Document storage and accessibility could be better.
Salesperson
Comments: For my specific role, it is so useful to store notes and update them and make them clean. I like to make folder for the notes and update as you go along. It is THE BEST
Pros:
Ease of use - it is super easy to use and navigateFunctions - being a dynamic notepad, it is great to use for fast note taking and also dynamic notes. So being able to update them a continueShared collaborationCloud based - it is great being able to access through the cloud rather than just server based
Cons:
Sometimes the browser version doesn’t work, doesn’t save pictures, and can find it difficult to back up to the cloud.
An incredibly powerful one-stop-shop
Comments: Beyond these cons, OneNote is super-easy to use, powerful, and functional across all major platforms. Unfortunately, not all platforms offer the same features: Wiki-style links (creating links using [[ ]]) is not supported in the browser version nor on iPadOS.
Pros:
You can embed content from so many sites: Youtube, Thinglink, Coogle to name a few. Each notebook can contain as many section groups and sections as you want, with as many pages and sub-pages as you want. And each page is an infinite canvas. Bonus: You can store actual files on any pages that you can then later open in the appropiate app using a double click. The desktop version features OCR which is great for searching content in pictures.
Cons:
The way the infinite canvas works. You cannot scroll left or up from the top of the page - only right and down. That feels somewhat counterintuitive at times. Also, there should be easy sharing on the page level - as of the writing of this review, you can only share entire notebooks, meaning you give access to it all, even if all you wanted to do was to collaborate on a single page.

OneNote for Tutors
Comments: Overall, I would like to recommend everyone to use this app to prepare your notes. It's very handy and versatile.
Pros:
There are may features of Onenote which makes it useful like: 1. Clippers, which allow to move data from any browser to OneNote. 2. Can be used in multiple devices simulatneosly. 3. Allows to add Multimedia. 4. Doesn't have formatting contraint. 5. Document Management , division on basis of subject, Notebook, Pages. 6. Flexible formatting option. 7. Works very well in laptop, pc, android tab and mobile. 8. Can use Digital Pen.
Cons:
The Synchronisation with cloud features lags a lot. Many times doesn't works properly. Have to click sync many times and have to wait if internet is slow.
Take the first step to a cleaner, less cluttered life.
Comments:
OneNote is one of the most popular note-taking apps on the market, and for good reason. It offers a robust feature set, a wide variety of integrations with other Microsoft services and web services, and it’s free.
The app has been around for years and received several updates over time.
However, OneNote’s biggest update in recent memory arrived in 2018 with the release of Microsoft 365 — an updated version of Office 365 that includes all the latest features from the company’s productivity suite. With this new version, OneNote got a makeover and now looks more modern than ever before. It also brought a lot of new features to the table that make it even better than before.
Pros:
It gives you an easy way to keep all your notes in one place. It’s available on every device, so you can access your notes no matter where you are. You can organize your notes any way that makes sense to you—by topic, date or even tags, like #work or #personal.
Cons:
Lack of Customization - It's not possible to customize any of your notes or notebooks in OneNote which can make it difficult if you want something more advanced than what it offers out of the box. Microsoft OneNote doesn't have any open APIs or integrations with third-party apps like Evernote does.
Powerful digital notebook for teachers and students
Comments: As mentioned, OneNote is an exceptional digital notebook resource for educators, making it easy to curate course materials, organize them into sections (or units), and share them with colleagues and students. The application is easy to use, and the onboarding learning curve is quite friendly - most of the features are intuitive. There are so many additional functions that more advanced users can explore to customize their notebooks. Especially with stylus functionality, OneNote replaces paper course materials as an interactive digital notebook that students can edit and keep forever without worrying about losing any paper. This has become an essential teaching tool for me as an educator and my preferred notetaking tool as a student.
Pros:
OneNote is an amazing digital notebook for teachers and students. Teachers can create a living course workbook filled with learning resources, including diagrams, videos, and links to online sources. They can also create worksheets directly in OneNote or import an existing Word or PDF document into the notebook that students can edit. One of the best features of OneNote is how smoothly it works with tablets and tablet laptops. With a stylus, students can write and draw in their OneNote notebooks, making it feel like a paper notebook. OneNote also includes a suite of drawing tools that make it easy to draw and label diagrams and even graphs for math. The Class Notebook add-in makes it an even more powerful tool for teachers to manage their classes. A teacher can quickly look into each of their students' notebooks to assess work and leave feedback. Students can sync their OneNote notebooks and receive feedback immediately. With Teams, entire OneNote notebooks can be easily shared between colleagues, and collaboration is seamless.
Cons:
The current OneNote desktop app no longer offers the ability to export pages as .one files, which makes it more difficult to send or attach individual pages. Rather, sharing can only be done through links, which sometimes run into challenges with sharing settings and others not being able to open the page. The inability to rename students at the teacher level also makes the "Review Work" function a bit less user-friendly when teachers try to mark them in alphabetical order. Finally, I would love to see more integration possibilities with other learning management systems.
Great for Notes and Tracking!
Comments: Overall this is an amazing tool for note tracking and can even be used for project management. Its does take a little bit of getting use to if you are coming from something more simplistic like Sticky Notes. I have began using this to track project notes, and even notes for calls. You have ability to share among teams, copy and paste pages from one "book" to another. One nice feature is that you can sort of "bend" the system to be used for what you would like it be used for- meaning that you may use it to track one way, but you co worker may use it in another manner. Perfect example I am more of a Book and multi pages with no table, but instead bullet points! My manager loves tables to be inserted and linked out to other items! Both work perfectly and are easily sharable and understandable no matter how you choose to manage your own One Note!
Pros:
This software is awesome for tracking projects, notes, and progress! It is customizable and can be used how ever the user would like! I personally like to section my work out in columns with bullet points, where may manager prefers tables. Some coworkers prefer multiple "books" instead of the method that I prefer is one book, such as Training with multiple pages underneath one book! The system is different if you are coming from a more "basic" system like I was, such as sticky notes! This is Highly Recommended for any member of you team that needs to keep track of notes and even project progress!
Cons:
The only thing "negative", which is really not horrible, is I wish there was more customization to the "blocks". When you start typing on a page, you will see a "block" appear and you can customize the tab color, the size of the box, the font, color of font, and size but I wish you could add a "hue" to the back ground of the boxes to make them stand out a little more- almost as if you were adding different colored sticky notes to the pages! I did find a work around and I am able to highlight the typed notes with a "lighter" color highlight- which works just as well, just does not look as uniform as the rest of the program! Still a highly recommended product!
Microsoft One Note - A free Office 365 service
Comments: I like OneNote because it is an easy to use, and a free application. It allows me to organize my notes and save them in a way that I can access them any time and anywhere. For me, OneNote is perfect for my usage because it is easy to use, it is easy to organize notes in a way that I can find them any time and anywhere. I’ve been using One Note for a couple of years now, and I’m an avid user of it. I use it to manage my projects and ideas, keep track of tasks and projects, and even keep track of the tasks and projects I’m currently working on.
Pros:
1.Microsoft One Note is a software package which enables individuals and organizations to create and share notes and diagrams. It is a simple, straightforward, powerful tool for recording important information. 2.It allows users to create individual notes, which can be attached to each other, to themselves or to websites. It also allows users to create digital flipbooks and create annotated PDF files. 3.It is a cloud-based notes program that has a focus on helping people to stay connected to their work even when they are away from their desk or desktop. 4.One note is a note taking application that is easy to use and very flexible. The application supports PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. This application is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems. 5.It is a free Office 365 service that makes it easy for you to create, organize, and share your ideas. It helps you take notes, brainstorm, and collect your thoughts with ideas that come to you anywhere, on any device.
Cons:
1. The main disadvantage of using Microsoft One Note is that it can be difficult to use because of the way it is laid out. In order to find information, you need to scroll through the pages and pages of data. 2. It is difficult to share the content with the other users. As a result, the users have to re-enter the content which is very difficult and time-consuming.
All your notes in one place
Comments: OneNotres has been a part of my arsenal of tools for the enterprise environment. I have used it on a personal level as well. I have used both the loal and cloud version, choosing the cloud due to my ability to access from any device. You can also add a local copy, depending on your subscription level, and sync your online content to your local machine. This helps in keeping your data in 2 places at once.
Pros:
Microsoft OneNotes offer a single place to enter, manage and access all your notes. It provides flexibility in how you organize your content. From simple note taking to more complex graphics and images, OneNotes lets you organize in efficient ways. The use of tags helps you find what you need across multiple notebooks, section and pages. No more having to navigate through complex and cumbersome folder hierarchies. OneNotes is a massive repository tool that takes the place of many other tools. Using OneNotes rids you of separate Tasks or To Do lists, file repositories, and even digital media. OneNotes lets you combine all your electronic files into a single place and manage it in a way that works for you. This level of flexibility is what gives OneNotes the power it has and its popularity.
Cons:
OneNotes tend to have a different layout between the online version and the downloaded version. This might bring some confusion to some users. Microsoft is moving more towards the cloud, and until this becomes the norm and their downloadable applications can mimic the cloud experience, there might be a bit of a learning curve.
Message to Self: Use Microsoft OneNote for Messages to Self
Comments: Whether I’m at home, or somewhere out in the wilds, Microsoft OneNote allows me to record all the things I need to remember, by text, speech, or photo. Because my memory is awful, I appreciate any tool that mitigates the pain of having lost my thoughts, and my mind, in the process. Having convenient folders in which to sort and store my thoughts, while creepy, is also pretty handy. But the best part is having a cloud connection between my phone and desktop. If I need to snap a picture of a research item and label it while I’m out for a walk, I can be sure I can retrieve it on my desktop when I get home. This requires having the downloadable app on my phone, of course, but when it’s free, it’s worth it. Because I already have it installed on my desktop (through my Microsoft Office 2013 suite), I don’t have to pay to use either. Not having to pay extra for an item I already own is always a good thing.
Pros:
Folders can be labeled, so there’s no risk in confusing items. All notes are also labeled, so it’s easy to identify which note is which (as long as you give it a label you can identify). This makes categorizing notes simple and efficient. Files can also store text, photos, and audio recordings, so you don’t have to think on your feet when trying to record a note. Just use whichever input is most relevant to your situation. Cloud transfers from mobile to desktop are pretty smooth.
Cons:
Compared to other notetaking software, it’s pretty basic. Sometimes notes are dumped into a global pile where you have to manually sort them. This isn’t a big deal, but it can add to your organizing time. (It’s also possible I’m using it wrong, but that in of itself is a con if auto-sorting isn’t intuitive.) Retrieving pictures for posting or editing is also more trouble than it’s worth. For the average user, the simplicity OneNote offers is fine. For dedicated researchers, a more robust platform like Evernote may be better suited.
Great tool for for online note taking and organization.
Comments: Overall, I would still recommend using OneNote despite the occasional hiccups. It is a very reliable and easy to use note taking and organization software that I would recommend.
Pros:
One of the best features is the easy organization that OneNote provides. You can create 1 notebook, with many sub-sections and within each sub-sections, you can have additional pages for notes. The software is very self explanatory so complete beginners/children can easily figure out how the notebook works. The organization of the notebook also allows you to move pages/sections around in the notebook which I really like because if you end up deciding that one page doesn't belong in a section, you can move it to where it belongs. Another feature that I really like is the photo/document adding tool. When using OneNote on the iPad, you can directly take a picture and upload it into your notes so you don't have to manually write down everything. It is also easy to add in a document/pdf/slideshow and annotate directly on it (if you have an iPad) and once you are done with the document, you can very quickly send it to an email/chat/person all just through the OneNote app.
Cons:
There has been 2 instances OneNote has crashed when I've used the app for too long and some of the notes I had made did not save. Another thing that I wish could be improved is if there is an option to recover deleted notes. If you accidentally deleted a notebook because my hand slipped and pressed the wrong button and there is no way to recover that notebook/pages (at least that I am aware of).
Office Product with the fewest syncing issues.
Pros:
I'm completely dependent on OneNote. It's so easy to use and flexible, it holds every project in my life now, from planning out and organizing 60 slide competitor analysis presentations, to scheduling recipes for meal plans. It plays well with the other products, and unlike Word, I've never had a problem with syncing conflicts and generating unnecessary backup local copies, and I have yet to lose a single word of work. In fact, for one of my books, I didn't use Word at all and ended up doing all the chapters in the same planning pages I kept in OneNote. It's my secret weapon when it comes to brainstorming and organization and I can't believe more people don't use it, but then again, I am a more visual/creative person, so the ability to quickly throw notes or record a message and be able to arrange, sort or search and actually find it later is vital. Years ago, I used to use Springpad, and since then, I've tried Trello, Evernote, and all kinds of apps, but nothing has stuck.
Cons:
Very few, it's so flexible it fills in a lot of gaps. I'd like it to be more visually customizable, like if you could add a backdrop of a chart or table similar to the Stormboard templates. Right now it just has a few pastel colors and lined and gridded paper types.
Would suggest OneNote over Notion and Evernote
Comments: I love the fact that it has a similar interface to that of Microsoft Excel and Word for being part of the Microsoft Office suite. It makes it easy to get familiar with the tool.
Pros:
It is pretty simple to use over other Knowledge Management Tools like Notion, and Evernote. The best part is that one can get all his notes just by logging in to his Microsoft account and can also share access to specific pages.
Cons:
It is difficult to navigate over a page with a lot of information. Also it can be confusing to navigate through the pages while using the search and filter feature.

Microsoft OneNote Review
Comments: Generally speaking, this is an astounding instrument for primary notetaking and following. Can likewise be utilized for project the board and monitoring notes without heaps of paper or loosing data. It assists with performing multiple tasks and immensely increment your solidarity. To work in a disconnected climate then this is the best application to utilize.
Pros:
One note is exceptionally powerful and saves composed texts and screen captures. It is a superior variant of a paper book. In general, I found OneNote an extremely convenient device and the utilization age was exceptionally viable in association where one has a consistent utilization of taking notes or irregular data. This product empowers me to get to my notes or records from any gadget. You can likewise arrange just your notes, compose archives and add pictures/outside satisfied (the likelihood to add media is one more significant component to think about in the item). You can separate your notes/reports in areas/pages, by dates, or subjects. This is an astonishing association instrument for regular use for any one.
Cons:
Some of the time created issues with organizing text from different source and sync issues with shared scratch pad/stages.
Essential tool for Project Management and bridging the learning curve of new projects and assignment
Comments: My projects are time sensitive and require decisions to be made based on ever changing policies, environment, and client requests holding to original deadlines. I do not have the luxury take my time to learn new project/assignments, nor time to spend 20 minutes looking for data or information I know I saved somewhere. It is essentially an extension of the memory portion of my brain and keeps me organized with action items for myself and my team, tabs for notes on meetings to hold everyone accountable, and Templates to save time composing emails and specific documents. I have been pretty much on top of my game because of this software. Thank you.
Pros:
This product is amazingly easy to organize/collect data when you are in a fast paced environment and do not have photographic memory. As I work through out the day new information comes in from team members, meetings, clients, management, etc. and you can enter the data, cut and paste or drag a file into tabs that you create on the fly so you know where it is and can go back to reference it anytime you need.
Cons:
I really can't think of anything except trying to convert content to another format if the recipient doesn't have OneNote. Usually I just go to the tab and cut and paste the info into an email to send. Its not a big deal.
essential part of my daily work
Comments: Overall, an essential part of my work flow, have used it extensively during any project planning and
Pros:
offers a lot of very useful features almost like a full fledge word processor for a free, great for note taking, clipping, sharing.... Includes web and mobile versions. Easy to use especially if you are familiar with Office. Can be used as a stand alone product.
Cons:
Like most Microsoft products, it can be slow and crashes without notice, unknown errors which are hard to interpret or fix pop up every now and then, pasting pictures needs some refinement as aligning pictures can be hard since it deals with the "page" as an open space.
Best note taking tool
Pros:
This is the best note-taking tool I have used across different platforms. It's effortless to get started and take notes without any setup. It comes bundled with Windows for free. There are multiple different ways to organize using tabs and color coding. It also provides a seamless experience between different OSes and mobile. There are also plugins to extend the functionality. The best feature is taking notes on a tablet with a stylus that auto converts your handwriting into text!
Cons:
If I really had to nitpick, I would say updating plugins can sometimes cause it to crash.
